To be fair I think this mechanic was in MTG before either of them. They had a few sets a while back that required a dragon to be shown to the opposing players from hand in order to gain an effect.
The stats are a bit problematisch because the opponent could have a 6 Attack unit that makes the Dragon just a 7 Mana 6/6. I think a Dragon or Scout deck would need combat tricks to make this card viable. Alternatively, Scout decks could grant enemies Vulnerable and make this card a more terrifying Genevieve.
I don’t know how I feel about the K/DA cards being forever playable in LoR. I kind of wish that once the event is over the cards get new art and names to fit canon LoR. If they release cards like this, at one point LoR will have a really disjointed aesthetic. Using pop stars and star guardians against Cybernetic assassins and pizza delivery people would feel very strange.
Another Tailermade card, but this time it is meant for TF Swain. Aggressive noxus decks don't want to play this card.
Midrange decks proably will have to run this card since landmarks and very tanky units are going to be a thing. Overall i don't like the need of tech cards that landmarks cause...
First of all it ruins "imersion" in game. LoR is supposed to be the game where we get to see the world of Runeterra. Having these popstar spells would be like getting Overwatch cards in Hearthstone. Feels out of place.
Second of all, this is pure promotion. K/DA is a real life collaboration of artists and singers, corporations and advertisers. It's a giant ad basically for the band Riot made and their upcoming song. And i don't like ads in my games.
"If you behold..." on a 2 mana unit is bad design in my oppinion, because you can't reliably pull this effect, even in dragon decks so that this card is just another rng card although it is less obvious. If you play it turn 3 its still okay but after turn 3 it is quite meh...
I this, again is an example of the hearthstone style of card design what is just boring and should not get into LoR
Hmmm, I'm not sure how I feel about this. It kind of gives me mystery box vibes from MTG. So on top of the new set which contains about 40 cards, we'll get another small set of cards as part of a mini expansion. These next few months are going to be... interesting.
Edit: Apparently I misread the amount of cards released.
With how Dragons gets played, I don't think you'd need another dragon generator, especially not at 2 mana where you can just play the new Dragonguard Lieutenant card or Herald of Dragons in the deck. Unless Shyvana is a card that says along the lines of gain X power for each Dragon you have in your hand, this card wouldn't be good.
This card is an interesting card but it's hard to say whether or not it will see play. I love the flavor but unless some kind of spell-hate deck exists, this card wouldn't really see play outside of being a tech choice in certain metas. Not sure if I'm blind but I think this card just can't be run in any Bannerman deck just because its stats are possibly not good enough to warrant a "maybe annoy the opponent" effect.
Could we be seeing Galio next year? This both looks like him and has a general anti-Mage functionality like Galio does.
With the new Landmark card type, I would love it if Galio would become a Landmark/Champion hybrid. Like flipped lands from MtG. Or maybe it's too confusing and they make him a 0 attack Champion like Nautilus until he flips.
New Demacia Card - Dragonguard Lieutenant

K/DA Arrives in Legends of Runeterra on October 28 - New Collectible Cards, Event Pass, Game Mode, and Board

New Demacia Card - Stalking Broodmother
Powerful but not powerful enough to compete with the other demacia units therefore it proably won't make it into demacia dragons
New Demacia Spell - Sharpsight
So we got our first reach card... this game is becoming more like magic the gathering and I don't know if i like that
Anyways we kinda needed that mechanic in the game in order to deal with elusives without printing 20 elusives in each region
New Noxus Spell - Scorched Earth
Another Tailermade card, but this time it is meant for TF Swain. Aggressive noxus decks don't want to play this card.

New Noxus Landmark - Noxkraya Arena
A tailermade support for frostbite noxus decks...
it is certainly strong but it disappoints me that riot creates cards for existing decks instead of trying new design spaces :/
Deep Sea Designing - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread
Good luck to our finalists :)

New Demacia Card - Stony Suppressor
Nice, more MTG design...
Hate cards and the requirement to run them in order to win against certain deck are what makes mtg such an unejoyable game in bo1.
Unless we move on to b03 in LoR this kind of design can only bad for the game.
New Demacia Card - Egghead Researcher
This is an exzellent example of boring but powerful card design as we know it from hearthstone.
While it is certainly strong, i am disgusted to see this lazy card design in LoR.
Riot pls, don't turn LoR into Legends of Hearthmagic you are right on the road towards it...
K/DA Arrives in Legends of Runeterra on October 28 - New Collectible Cards, Event Pass, Game Mode, and Board
I really enjoyed the Spirit Blossom event, so even though K-Pop isn't my usual jive I'm looking forward to this.
New Demacia Card - Egghead Researcher
Wasn't Runeterra the "I do not do random stuff like HS" game??
K/DA Arrives in Legends of Runeterra on October 28 - New Collectible Cards, Event Pass, Game Mode, and Board
Not a clue but I can tell you it wasn't in Riot's press release so I highly doubt its accuracy.
They've said we've have two smaller 40 card expansions after Call of the Mountain came out. K/DA definitely not a small expansion.
K/DA Arrives in Legends of Runeterra on October 28 - New Collectible Cards, Event Pass, Game Mode, and Board
Where'd you hear about the 27 cards part? From what I can see its just 5 Epic spells.

Well, that takes care of the 2-drop slot for the Shyvana deck! Another list that builds itself.
New Demacia Card - Dragonguard Lieutenant
A 3/2 Challenger for 2 mana ... the Demacia dream.
Suck it, Miss Fortune! Suck it, Zed!
New Demacia Spell - Sharpsight
Where was this card six months ago when we needed it most?
So much drama could have been avoided.
New Demacia Card - Stony Suppressor
Perfect Demacia flavor and lore!
And Bannermen just got more annoying. Or should I say "Bannerdragons"?
New Demacia Card - Stalking Broodmother
No idea what Shyvana's like, but Demacia dragons are already nuts with this little dumping.
