There is build variance, but not enough to make matchups look seriously varied each week.
Most Warriors and Priests are Control, DH is Soul, Mage is Small Spell, Druid is Ramp-Guardian. Rogue is Miracle. And that's it. That's the meta in Tournament, barred few outsider decks with limited success.
Older popular decks like Face Hunter and Aggro Rogue are fading away already, and there seems to be no new rookie list at the horizon.
Glad you enjoy it, I still watch some games, I still enjoy pro plays, but I am unable to stick to the screen for too long.
Alright, after 3 weeks and 4 days I think it's safe to say Hush is a little too strong and it's why it'll be getting nerfed. So, op was right from the get-go on that and I honestly agree. Tryndameere, among many other champions, such as Darius, Kalista, TF, Lucian, Katarina, Ezreal, and others get hard countered by this cheap overturned card. The problem is that it's a 3 mana that creates a fleeting and on top of that it's a burst. Someone hushes your unit and you may as well just let it die (even champions) rather than wasting a barrier (to have it poked) or a health gain (hush again). The only counter to this card is a recall and even then it's not a real counter considering you lose a body on the board and have to spend the turn resetting, if even possible. It's cheap, allows no counterplay, gives great value against copious amounts of decks, and most Targon decks are running it for this very reason. Don't even think about playing last breath units either.
Now, spell shield. Honestly, I think it's ok for the most part. Aurelion Sol having a perma shield is fine by me because he's a 10 mana champ, but a 9 cost elusive celestial dragon that gains stats depending on how many celestial cards you've played with fury and spell shield is literally just a GG at that point because by the time you deal with that another beast will take the board.
I believe Spellshield as a keyword is NOT op, but its current application to certain units is. Hush, on the other hand, is just straight up op and needs to be addressed.
If you still think otherwise of these cards, that's fine. I respect opinions and I'm open to reading your (or others) defense.
We must have been watching a different tournament, I see a whole lot of variance between regions, not to mention builds and matchups change pretty much weekly.
I agree there is less forum discussion, but when something stirs a debate, it's quite productive. I also love the news content and lore articles, OotC is number one in this. I always check the deck highlights, even though I find most of my decks in other places (I find it hard to navigate the filtering and what's wild, standard, meme, etc.). But to give an example, I loved the Odd Aggro Druid that was here a few weeks before.
This is where quality is to be found. I come here daily.
great part of battlegrounds is kalecgos turn 9 is too slow. i am a losing player because i cant figure out how to get kalecgos on turn 7 or 6,
The point is that there isn't a unit that singlehandedly wins you games. Even if you get Kalecgos "on curve" you still need other dragons and a rather solid board that allows you to transition into full Battlecry spam mode without losing most of your health.
Kalecgos on 9 is not slow, but it takes more than just slam it on the board and wait for obscene rolls.
Site traffic is higher now than it was when we launched, though forum activity takes a bit of a dip between set launches for Hearthstone.
Admittedly, decks have been a bit more of a struggle though. I believe us not featuring them in a widget on the homepage until recently may have hurt that part of growth. It's definitely something I want to see more of but it isn't very easy to incentivize people to write guides, plus, if the meta stops changing, why write or add a new deck to the site?
The fragmentation definitely sucked when the split happened, but I agree, its better here than it is elsewhere. We have a more positive thing going on overall!
Yeah ppl here are lazy as all fuck when it comes to posting or replying. It’s funny because you can come back a day later and pretty much everything is about the same. Well, beats being at hearthpwn with that scumbag xskarma.....
Well, I don't know about now, but a lot (if not most) of forum activity in HPwn was about people crying for nerfs for no reasons. I don't think we need that.
Pretty quiet about decks too, I quite agree and maybe we should come up with something about it.
What if we simply started posting VS reports on the news and related decks? Maybe popular/effective decks from HSR each week?
Or spicy open articles generating discussion, ie. Do you like created-by meta?
Pirates were the first people with medical insurance. Blackbeard made sure his crews traveled with doctors and had specific payouts for injuries. The crew was offered this plan as part of their employment in the fleet. The British started losing so many sailors who were recruited by the health plans they were forced to start their own programs. The crew were also offered paid time off for illness.
So your fact to gleam from this is Pirates had better accessible health care plans than most Americans.

Targon's new mechanic Spellshield and Hush seem very problematic

Is Out Of Cards where it's at?
Main reason is the HS player base have gonne down. Even in heartpwn the upvotes for decks is way down as well as deck creators.
The game has reached its peak so the hype is lower

LoR is a fantastic game...
Honestly, just craft rising tides stuff, and now you're good forever.
Targon might seem strong as a snowball archtype but it is absolutely powerless against high tempo plays.
Not aggro mind you they can heal past aggro just fine or chump block, I'm talking Tempo.
Like warning shot for 0 into double monkey, into idol for more monkeys, into petty officer into a fully leveled champ
There is no counter play for Targon even if they kill the idol with removal they splashed from other regions
