Kael needed that nerf so badly. Good riddance to Miracle Druid.
Illucia’s mana cost was never the problem, it was that stupid effect which made her just completely shit all over a certain style of decks. Although this change does help, I can imagine she will still be a problematic card for the near future.
Man, my pack luck has been abysmal for the past 3 expansions. I get the 50 pack pre-purchase every time, and three times now I only get 2 legendaries from those, none golden, and also no golden epics. I spend over 400 euros on HS this last year and it still feels I have to craft every good legendary and epic. My last opened golden Legendary is from over 2 years ago, which is weird because I see streamers open them regularly. Bad luck streaks exist but 3 expansions in a row is making me salty every time I open packs. Luckily I still enjoy playing.
I think this is the best from the bunch revealed today, draining 2 with a 2 mana body and potential nightfall synergies (nocturne is gonna have either a similar effect to the horse revealed or have nightfall itself.
Swim theorized that Nocturne and/or Diana might level up from Nightfall triggers. That is pretty much the only reason I'd ever use this card. (And I'd probably still never use Duskrider.)
I'm predicting Nightfall and Nocturne will be somewhat like Toss and Maokai: you're doing it primarily for the champion's level-up effect which is a game-changer if you can pull it off. The difference will be that whereas Toss is no immediate benefit for literally game-ending effect, Nightfall will be so-so benefit for (only) game-swinging effect.
Not good enough to see play even if it didn't had a condition it was only ok.
We have a 5 mana 4/5 that also has regen.
Ugg; I was thinking this was decent until you brought up that Scarmaiden Reaver comparison. While I maintain that Scarmaiden is criminally underrated, I will agree that it's hard to see Troll Ravager finding a place with -1/0 stats, no overwhelm, and conditional regen for only 1 mana cheaper.
I feel like Trundle is just a really bad champ. He has good base stats and that's about it. He takes up a slot that you could put in an actual good champ, his mechanic that the deck has to be built around is just God awful, his champ card is Trundle's Icequake; which is also a horrible card; and his level up does essentially nothing. At most you will get +2 attack, +1 on average, and if you get +3 or more, well congratulations, you have a bricked hand and you are probably going to lose. His only redeeming feature is that he gives you a free Ice Pillar which is an okay card, but even then I'd rather just run the Ice Pillar without Trundle eating up a champ slot.
But those are just my thoughts. What are yours?
TBD.
Look at it this way: L1 Braum + Take Heart is really powerful, right? Because he's a 3/8 with regen and challenger that will quickly level up and start spitting out poros. Well, L2 Trundle is a 6+/7 with regen and overwhelm that can challenge the strongest enemy. Sure, he won't spit out the poros and vulnerable is sometimes worse than challenger, but on the other hand sometimes vulnerable is better plus you get this for a net cost of only 5 mana and 1 card versus 7 mana and 2 cards for the aforementioned combo.
That is really disappointing. Coming from the Wild perspective, the Illucia nerf now reduces the range of combos that can be disrupted and significantly reduces your ability to play out the opponent's important stuff if they're not combo. In essence, if the opponent is not combo, Illucia is even less useful than she was (she was mostly unplayable already in those situations) and if the opponent is combo, you better hope they got the cheaper pieces of their combo in hand, or you're stuffed. She's now just worse at the only thing she was useful for (assuming you drew her in the little time you had).
With Kael, the problem is the exact opposite. I don't think this nerf is enough. It slows down Mechathunlock by one turn (so you die turn 9 instead of 8, but the combo is still possible) and Druid can easily float extra mana with all the cheap accelerators they use to trigger him anyway. There are some chances you may fail to chain the accelerators with your draw, but it will often still be just enough that you can essentially just nuke your opponent on turn 5-6 (depending on how quickly you ramped) with just plain damage spells with no further assistance (like Malygos or such).
Worse yet, with these nerfs coming out, it is likely they'll consider these cards addressed and won't touch them again unless something egregious happens. So these may be the final versions of these cards. Can't say I'm happy with either of them.
I think he's pretty good the body is very defensive although it might get +1 or +2 on average on attack when lvled up Trundle has the potential to attack multiple turns thanks to his regenerate keyword and don't forget all the new grant spells.
An 8-10 overwhelm regenerate with that 5 mana taric spell that gives 3+3 and is burst + the attack he gains from behold cards and he can win the game in maybe 2 turns.
Trundles icequake feels ehh yeah.
Well any card can be good if you add all that stuff to it. When evaluating a card you kinda just have to take it as is. Like what will this card get me if I happen to just have a bad hand and I'm forced to just use him for his base stats.

I'm shocked to only see these two on the chopping block for the initial release. Kael'thas Sunstrider is just a pain that probably shouldn't have been printed, but I guess that the dominance of the other cards is not overwhelming so much to the point where Blizz feels that anything else is worth delving into right now.
Your thoughts on Trundle.
My thoughts: Trundle is a troll card

Would have expected more nerfs/changes with how horrible the game is right now.
This is not enough to convince me to reinstall the game again.

New Freljord Spell - Troll Chant
Man this card is good! What can you say? These types of cards almost always find a home.
New Freljord Card - Troll Ravager
Solid, even if you don't Behold it.
New Freljord Card - Troll Scavenger
Maybe this doesn't go in an aggro deck. Might be okay? But I'm not excited about having to mulligan for or keep an 8+ cost card in my opening hand.
New Freljord Card - Faces of the Old Ones
These type of cards almost never work out. Attune is far better and most of those cards have legitimate stats.
