I also believe Nocturne will be the first champion added to Runeterra that is not currently assigned to a specific region in Runeterra (at least according to universe.leagueoflegends.com).
You are correct. I predict that Shadow Isles will become the defacto LoR region for all regionless supernatural/"demonic" champions--namely, Shaco, Aatrox, Evelynn, Fiddlesticks, Kindred; possibly Brand?--based on the fact:
They fit thematically / aesthetically
SI has significantly fewer "direct" champions than the other core 5, so it really benefits from drafting from a separate pool
Design-wise, they are probably easier to fit in with SI's existing fearsome and death-loving mechanics than other regions
In all seriousness: I don't think this card will get much play--there are just too many matchups where it does little to nothing. Usually for a tech card like this to work, it either needs some minimal payout (e.g. "AND summon a 1/1"), an alternate function (e.g., "OR stun an attacking enemy unit"), or cantrip (4 mana but it also draws a card).
Consider this: against the 3 most powerful decks in the meta right now:
Ashe Noxus: nothing in this deck isn't played from hand
EZ TF: you can pay 3 mana to kill Petty Officer's 1-drop
Endure Spiders: you do at least have some potential targets here with Cursed Keeper, Blighted Caretaker, and Kalista, however you're only causing a small tempo loss against a deck that goes stronger every round the game goes on. I don't see this card significantly impacting the winrate of that deck.
why though? Druid will still be playable, just not as...crazy. The class still has access to massive ramp and 4 different 0-mana spells. All this really prevents is Druid's winning the game when they reach 7-mana (at turn 4)
I think it was just way too efficient at what it did, especially when it came down to holding onto win conditions. Also, Galakrond Priest can reduce her cost back down with Fate Weaver so it's not too bad either way
Don't forget that it's a progressive system, where you can only enjoy high level rewards when you nearing the end of the expansion.
For examples, you may be getting that sweet Legendary cards rewards at the end of the 4th month, and it sounds pretty awful, why? because you need all the legendary at the earliest time possible. Getting them at the end of expansions only benefit collectors, and not F2P players.
Plus, yeah, no more 80+ packs for the next expansion
As Lee suggest it was 5000 golds, I was so shocked because I alone manage to get 8900 golds for scholomance without even reaching the daily gold cap. Only 6 wins average per day plus daily quests.
I'm telling you, honestly I don't like this battlepass system.
EDIT. I approve that video by Hearthstone Mathematics when they suggest "Pay or Get Out" to F2P.
Pretty much everything you said after seeing the video in my feed. (aside from 5K gold cap as already pointed out).
Right now, on 3 regions I just do daily quests and get to D5. That's 9K gold or so each expansion cycle for each region.
If I can't open 80+ packs on expansion day release for a similar amount of effort it's much worse/less generous. I don't care about cosmetic hero skins and the like.
Will wait to see what the final system is but the one proposed in the survey results is MUCH worse.
I hate misleading marketing (I don't even know if I had to put misleading in front of marketing there). Be careful Blizzard, most people aren't stupid (or so I like to think).
Is there any way to replace megasaur in future so that murlocs will be viable without becoming OP again? I was thinking scalelord as it doesn't offer mass poison but guaranteed divine shield also seems problematic
Mindrender Illucia nerf is ok, he's worse against aggro but still kept her ability to disrupted combo. I play her in Wild in my Reno Priest and he's very good there.
I'm just glad that the Change to Mindrender Illucia isn't too harsh. The Card will be weaker against Aggro, but, as long as I can disrupt Combos efficiently, I have absolutely no Problem with that.
All the changes seem fair. Gentle Megasaur being removed may not be "fair", because now i don't think we'll see any murloc comps out there, but it's so good to see that exodia comp being removed!!
Omg, i had to go to the official site to read it... fucking amazing!!! No more fucking murlocs exodia comp!! Damm is going to feel good to play BG next week!! So fucking happy!!
This card is nuts! Yes obviously the ephemeral tag is a big draw back, but giving everything +2 attack is huge. Look mostly for a lot of aggro decks that just threaten so much damage that you have to block; however I expect there will be some cheeky combo decks as well (Anivia, Mist's Call, The Undying/Cursed Keeper, Death Mark)
Played = units created by a unit card played from hand (and 'played' units also count as a summon for affects, but is not hit by Passage Unearned.)
Summon = units NOT created by a unit card played from hand
Summons units mainly include token units (like the token unit from House Spider or Zed) and all units created by spells (like Remembrance and The Harrowing).
The only good thing about this nerf is that i'll be able to craft this priest legendary and play with the deck a little bit and still get my dust back after getting bored of it. Druid is the only decent deck i have at the moment, which is not going too well anymore and it's going to be even worse later. This has been the worse expansion for me since a very long time...
I played a few Priests games to test new decks ... just once I used Mindrender Illucia and it was a disaster :)
I had on the board a Sethekk Veilweaver ... but I realized that just after I played all the spells of my opponent hand ... giving him back all of them with a very powerful hand :)
So it is 4 Taragon champions then? Thought it would be 2 regions per 2 months.
I am glad we are seeing nocturne earlier but Taragon is gonna come out weaker.
Indeed--very interesting, and not at all what I was expecting. (That seems to be a common theme in these reveals...)
It makes me wonder if they might not release even more non-Targon champs / fewer Targon this month. I admit that fewer than 4 Targon champs at release will make the region seem very inferior compared to the others, but I already hypothesized that meant a hard limit of at least 5 and that's now gone.
I will admit there are some places where I either overdid it or probably just need to be left alone
Fiery war axe - maybe it can be unnerfed but I thought it would be better to try something else entirely just in case I might ultimately choose to not change it when I'm done
Rock biter - I already changed and might continue to do so
Flame tongue - might be overdone I am not sure will reduce the health to 4 or come up with something else or just leave it alone
I will admit basic cards are supposed to be weaker and to a lesser extent classic cards but I think that some cards might be falling off too much, or were too bad to begin with, I do plan to keep try to get this to work and will be trying to leave the stuff that sets their baselines and will probably remove the changes to fiery war axe, felstalker, remove taunt from war golem and various others in attempt to preserve some of the baseline I overlooked
Hey look, it's the Kael'thas nerf everyone expected the first time around. When will they learn that reducing big cards to 0-mana is never going to be balanced? First Alex, then Galakrond, and now this.
I wonder if Druid goes straight to the dumpster because of this. Kael'thas was pretty important in regards to getting out Survival of the Fittest. I guess he will still be run but he'll be less consistent? Druid does after all still run both Innervate and Lightning Bloom
Haven't really played against many Priests but I assume the Illucia change is more than warranted seeing how a lot of deck run quite a few high-impact 8-cost cards.
Also, I'm immensly confused how the Southsea Strongarm thing was a bug? Like...how does a bug change card art?
I think this is the best from the bunch revealed today, draining 2 with a 2 mana body and potential nightfall synergies (nocturne is gonna have either a similar effect to the horse revealed or have nightfall itself.
A 2-1 is okay it can block most other 1 mana units, if you do draw it later or manage to combine it with nightfall 4-1 fearsome might get you some nice extra damage.

Battlegrounds Changes Arriving in Hearthstone's Next Patch - Tier Changes and Minion & Hero Balance
Rip Murlocs. Unless they add Scalelord later that tribe is probably dead.
Thank god Cannon is gone, that was such an overly annoying turd.
Also how much are they gonna buff Reno? Guess getting a guaranteed golden Brann/Rivendare isn't good enoug unless it's for free
