Big clunky 9 drop that is dependent on other cards to make it playable, don't really see it doing much aside from just being able to occasionally dunk someone in the ground with the god draw in Big Demon DH.
This card is pretty cool but it just kind feels extra a lot of the time. Could lead to some really fun blowouts in aggro matchups, but DH and Hunter just feel like they'd have better cards to run. I wouldn't be surprised if this card were to see play, I'm just not a fan of it.
You've asked for this for a couple of expansions now and I'm glad to present we have a functional version of what I've decided to name the "Tavern Crawl".
Everything here is on-site cosmetics, no digital giveaways for Hearthstone packs this time around. COVID has been a pain in the ass with ad revenue only starting to recover since it being junk all year, so doing a paid giveaway wasn't in the cards this time.
Good luck!
PS. This is all going to go away when the expansion launches with no more credit being obtainable. You've got a little less than a week until then, so get to it. I'll add a countdown in to make it clear when it expires.
On Warlock, this card can revive Zoo on its own, and make it a very aggressive deck, especiallt with cards like Voracious Reader for extra fuel. And while it can also work the same way for Priest, they are more dependant on Voracious Reader as tempo Priest doesn't have other reliable options for card draw right now.
I really like this type of disruption in the game but locking it off to DH is a bit awkward. Hoping to see this type of mechanic coming to a neutral card soon.
Soul Shards look really fun but there's some fairly big anti-synergy with this card and all the other payoffs. It's probably still fine when summoning 2~ as 7 mana 11/11 is decent, especially if this is the top end of some zoo deck as most likely you'll run the enemies low on resources. Its the type of mechanic that I'll need to play around to see how good it is, but I'm not feeling this legendary.
Not so great imho. If you want refill your deck with spells, these must be super strong or you are loosing good draw. So...maybe this is a combo piece for a specific deck, but in the all other deck I think that can't be played
Yes, I have heard that theory as well. The wonderful thing about guides-- as opposed to articles-- is that I can update them if new information comes out. I'm going to wait a bit to see if we get any further confirmation on this theory-- which I do honestly like-- and update the guide accordingly. You never know what nuggets a Blizzard post or the solo content could drop for us.
I love to see a new mechanincs in Hs and I hope that in future we will see more. This card is strong but not in all class. If you play a lot of weapons or you use your hero to attack this card is wasted. In a slow control deck, instead, this card shine for sure. So it's not an auto-include all deck, but strong enough to see some play
Demon pool very polarizing, the discount to Jaraxxus, in my opinion, won't be enough to change it. Sure, it will be less of a tempo loss, but it's equiping a 3/8 weapon and summoning a 6/6 for 10 mana. These days, that seems way too little in terms of power, especially when considering how Lord Jaraxxus cripples your health pool.
Scrying is more impactful on Magic, where you can use the effect to filter out land cards when you don't need them, for example. However, the idea of control decks having the ability to filter out bad cards against certain matchups is still good. Not sure it will good enough to see play though, especially when you consider that weapons are harder to Discover.
PS: "This is what it sounds like when spheres scry." Probably the best flavor text of the expansion.
Also, I like how Rogue Secrets play little Mindgames. Imagine your Opponent checks forDirty Tricks and Ambush, and is afraid to trade into your Minion because of Bamboozle, just to find out that they played suboptimaly and give you Cards.
I really like this as an early option for some decks - I think it's cool that you really need to be running a decent amount of low-cost spells to actually turn it into a powerhouse.
Ah yes, extra fuel for my Gahz'rilla OTK deck is always welcome. Right now that deck only needs this and Rapid Fire instead of having also Arcane Shot, Elven Archer and On the Hunt, freeing up a lot of space for defense and draw. That being said,
Shameless power creep is shameless (and yes, I will be posting this exact same text on similar power creeping cards).
I also got 35/44 epics, 30 golden commons, 18 golden rares and 3 golden epics as well as all the normal commons and rares. While not that lucky with legendary cards, I think I got a good amount of golden cards (excluding the ones from the 5 golden packs).
New Warrior Minion - Rattlegore
I just hope silence doesn't become a big thing...
Ancient Void Hound

Ace Hunter Kreen

New Priest & Warlock Minion - Disciplinarian Gandling
On Warlock, this card can revive Zoo on its own, and make it a very aggressive deck, especiallt with cards like Voracious Reader for extra fuel. And while it can also work the same way for Priest, they are more dependant on Voracious Reader as tempo Priest doesn't have other reliable options for card draw right now.
Disciplinarian Gandling is one of the cards with the most potential of the entire set, imo.
Star Student Stelina
I really like this type of disruption in the game but locking it off to DH is a bit awkward. Hoping to see this type of mechanic coming to a neutral card soon.
New Neutral Minion - Voracious Reader
One of the strongest card of the set. This is so op in agro deck. Autoinclude and 5 star easy
Soulciologist Malicia
Soul Shards look really fun but there's some fairly big anti-synergy with this card and all the other payoffs. It's probably still fine when summoning 2~ as 7 mana 11/11 is decent, especially if this is the top end of some zoo deck as most likely you'll run the enemies low on resources. Its the type of mechanic that I'll need to play around to see how good it is, but I'm not feeling this legendary.
New Neutral Minion - Enchanted Cauldron
Filler card imho. Too random and must survive 1 turn in most case. Too situational for me
New Neutral Minion - Educated Elekk
Not so great imho. If you want refill your deck with spells, these must be super strong or you are loosing good draw. So...maybe this is a combo piece for a specific deck, but in the all other deck I think that can't be played

New Neutral Weapon - Sphere of Sapience

New Warlock Spell - Demonic Studies
Demon pool very polarizing, the discount to Jaraxxus, in my opinion, won't be enough to change it. Sure, it will be less of a tempo loss, but it's equiping a 3/8 weapon and summoning a 6/6 for 10 mana. These days, that seems way too little in terms of power, especially when considering how Lord Jaraxxus cripples your health pool.
New Neutral Minion - Lorekeeper Polkelt
A new Hemet, Jungle Hunter. You must build your deck around it, but can be strong enough. Niche card
New Neutral Minion - Vectus
New Neutral Weapon - Sphere of Sapience

New Neutral Minion - Keymaster Alabaster
Good card for sure. It's at least get you a card and if it survive more than 1 turn can snowball the game. It's a big threat that can't be ignored
New Rogue Spell - Plagiarize
Really great for your Opponents Swing/Combo.
„Hey pretty neat Kael'thas Turn! Let me try it!"
Also, I like how Rogue Secrets play little Mindgames. Imagine your Opponent checks forDirty Tricks and Ambush, and is afraid to trade into your Minion because of Bamboozle, just to find out that they played suboptimaly and give you Cards.
New Neutral Minion - Robes of Protection
Shameless power creep is shameless (and yes, I will be posting this exact same text on similar power creeping cards).
Remember Wee Spellstopper? Yeah, that's the not busted version of this card. That being said, this is more busted on arena, where AoE is less common.
New Neutral Minion - Voracious Reader
Shameless power creep is shameless (and yes, I will be posting this exact same text on similar power creeping cards).
And in this case, it's broken shameless power creep. Poor Jeeves.
New Neutral Minion - Intrepid Initiate
I really like this as an early option for some decks - I think it's cool that you really need to be running a decent amount of low-cost spells to actually turn it into a powerhouse.
Also he's kinda cute ngl
The Lore and Backstories of Scholomance's Legendary Minions - Archivist's Lore
Good read as always. I think Instructor Fireheart is also a living re-imagining of the WoW boss Instructor Chillheart.
New Neutral Minion - Pen Flinger
Ah yes, extra fuel for my Gahz'rilla OTK deck is always welcome. Right now that deck only needs this and Rapid Fire instead of having also Arcane Shot, Elven Archer and On the Hunt, freeing up a lot of space for defense and draw. That being said,

Scholomance pack opening results
Opened 142 packs (137 normal + 5 golden) and got:
