As far as Gandling fodders go, I still prefer to sacrifice Snowflipper Penguin over Desk Imp. Why would the HS community make Snowflipper Penguin card the posterboy of cuteness instead of Murloc Tinyfin, I will never know and I will always be resentful for it.
This is a nice support tool for Big Paladin and Big Warrior. I think Big Paladin is so close to becoming viable, but now with this and Plagued Protodrake I think the archetype can get there. Imagine pulling out Kael'thas Sunstrider with Duel! on 5 and then playing First Day of School into Commencement. Big Paladin is a deck I'll definitely try to see if it now works. I think Big Warrior doesn't work as well even with this new addition as its swing turns come online much later in the game than what Big Paladin can accomplish.
Hello there guys, I took some time to analyze all the cards I got from my early pack opening and I wanted to share it with you guys. While I didn't get that many legendary cards, I got a nice amount of golden cards from the non-golden packs.
Number of packs opened: 142 (137 normal + 5 golden)
I'm guessing the playability of this card (especially in Druid) is dependant on how aggressive the meta is, mostly because I expect it to be used mostly on OTK combo decks, where the Overload will be less impactful.
While all effects are pretty minor, the fact that they are bungled up in a single card can become really good, especially when said card is this cheap. Any deck that tries to take the board aggressively will consider this.
After seeing all of the beast support cards for both Druid and Hunter, I don't think she is very impressive in Hunter. Druid might be able to make the copy effect work in Embiggen Druid with Marsh Hydra and Winged Guardian, but the big stats without the copy is usually enough to threaten the opponent. The buff deck aspect also doesn't seem that appealing as it's a weaker and more restricted deck buff than Embiggen. Overall, I think she doesn't have much of a chance to see play, but it's possible that after the next rotation she makes more sense.
Thank you! I'm glad I've got the other members of the team to help me out - I don't envy the content creators who try and review every card by themselves.
The most effort I've got to put in (beyond my own rambling reviews) is coming up with the silly jokes for every card =P
Rush minions are always pro-active card...so this card can be used to resolve some enemy minion with the extravalue of this card. Flexible and versatile for me
Not bad actually. It's pretty much 10 Damage for 3 Mana. And if you can stick Doctor Krastinov or Captain Greenskin it could get out of Hand for your Opponent.
Cheap aoe with future healing. I like it a lot but Lock have some strong "aoe" card right now and if we want play the fragment card we will must cut out some good card
Aside from cheesy strats on turn 1, I'm guessing this won't see much play. That being said, if you start on The Coin you can play this, coin, Adorable Infestation, Lightning Bloom into Power of the Wild for 11/11 on the board, which can be pretty game breaking.
I think this is a good back up plan for Zoolock if they don't hit Imprisoned Scrap Imp. I think this is tougher to see play in a Tempo Buff Priest as they don't have nearly the same level of card draw as Warlock, especially since this has anti-synergy with Voracious Reader. Disciplinarian Gandling is practically a win condition on turn 4, which makes me think it has to see play in at least Zoolock.
Thanks for replying! Yes, it is a heavy deck, but the quest will make all the big minions 0 mana, which is why it's focused on late game, and control the early game, perhaps too much, and I will have to cut some high cost cards to get more early game minions out, Questing Explorer would definitely be a good card to include instead.
Sathrovarr + Kanrethad Ebonlocke combo has won me so so many games vs control heavy decks like Priests, because they simply cannot keep up the momentum with removals, and I fill the board over and over again with big demons, + it even keeps you from being out of cards (pun intended), because it shuffles more cards into your deck. Trust me, it's a crazy fun and good combo :)
Void Drinker is a 4/5 taunt demon, it's not ideal, but it's not a bad demon minion to bring back on the board in my opinion. Spirit Jailer is, but with only two copies of him, it will be rare that you will summon him from Prime, because of all the other demons you spam the board with.
Virtually any control/combo oriented deck, due to their defensive nature and tendency to run 5+ mana spells, will want to run this. I'm guessing the only exception is in druid if Fungal Fortunes finds a new spot on the meta.
New Neutral Minion - Intrepid Initiate
In a land where 1 mana 1/3s are praised, any 1 mana minion that can easily become a 3/2 is king.
New Neutral Minion - Desk Imp
As far as Gandling fodders go, I still prefer to sacrifice Snowflipper Penguin over Desk Imp. Why would the HS community make Snowflipper Penguin card the posterboy of cuteness instead of Murloc Tinyfin, I will never know and I will always be resentful for it.
New Paladin & Warrior Spell - Commencement
This is a nice support tool for Big Paladin and Big Warrior. I think Big Paladin is so close to becoming viable, but now with this and Plagued Protodrake I think the archetype can get there. Imagine pulling out Kael'thas Sunstrider with Duel! on 5 and then playing First Day of School into Commencement. Big Paladin is a deck I'll definitely try to see if it now works. I think Big Warrior doesn't work as well even with this new addition as its swing turns come online much later in the game than what Big Paladin can accomplish.
New Rogue Minion - Vulpera Toxinblade
Rogue is a Class where heropowering on T2 is actually decent and a usual Thing to do, so I think this'll fit into many Decks. Especially Tempo.

New Druid/Shaman Spell - Lightning Bloom
I'm guessing the playability of this card (especially in Druid) is dependant on how aggressive the meta is, mostly because I expect it to be used mostly on OTK combo decks, where the Overload will be less impactful.
New Druid & Hunter Spell - Adorable Infestation
While all effects are pretty minor, the fact that they are bungled up in a single card can become really good, especially when said card is this cheap. Any deck that tries to take the board aggressively will consider this.
New Hunter/Druid Minion - Shan'do Wildclaw
After seeing all of the beast support cards for both Druid and Hunter, I don't think she is very impressive in Hunter. Druid might be able to make the copy effect work in Embiggen Druid with Marsh Hydra and Winged Guardian, but the big stats without the copy is usually enough to threaten the opponent. The Lore and Backstories of Scholomance's Legendary Minions - Archivist's Lore
Sons of Lothar reminded me of Sons of Korhal from Starcraft, tho not exactly the shining beacon of humanity that one :D
Scholomance pack opening results
Bought myself the 85-pack preorder, but I've got 2500 gold and 10K dust as well for the official release...
So far bagged Lorekeeper Polkelt (memes galore), Shan'do Wildclaw, Headmaster Kel'Thuzad (heck yes!) and Professor Slate. Not a bad showing, IMO. Really hope I can get some use out of Slate - we shall see...
Nice to see some others enjoying their early pack openings! Shame about yours though, Caviney1232, really sucks :(
Our Thoughts on Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Priest/Warlock Dual Class Cards
Thank you! I'm glad I've got the other members of the team to help me out - I don't envy the content creators who try and review every card by themselves.
The most effort I've got to put in (beyond my own rambling reviews) is coming up with the silly jokes for every card =P
New Warrior Spell - Athletic Studies
Rush minions are always pro-active card...so this card can be used to resolve some enemy minion with the extravalue of this card. Flexible and versatile for me
New Warrior Spell - In Formation!
Good in arena and in wild in Taunt Warior. In standard isn't enough
New Warrior Weapon - Reaper Scythe
Very strong in any deck and also can make a small cleave. Auto-include probabbly
New Warlock Spell - Demonic Studies
Good interaction with Jaraxus, but probably this is the "worst Study". Anyway it's a discount with free extra value. It's ok at least
New Rogue Weapon - Self-Sharpening Sword
Not bad actually. It's pretty much 10 Damage for 3 Mana. And if you can stick Doctor Krastinov or Captain Greenskin it could get out of Hand for your Opponent.
New Warlock Spell - School Spirits
Cheap aoe with future healing. I like it a lot but Lock have some strong "aoe" card right now and if we want play the fragment card we will must cut out some good card
New Warlock Minion - Shadowlight Scholar
Good stat for 3 mana and strong effect...the only downside is that destroy one fragment. Probably it's an autoinclude in all lock fragment deck
New Druid Minion - Gibberling
Aside from cheesy strats on turn 1, I'm guessing this won't see much play. That being said, if you start on The Coin you can play this, coin, Adorable Infestation, Lightning Bloom into Power of the Wild for 11/11 on the board, which can be pretty game breaking.
New Priest & Warlock Minion - Disciplinarian Gandling
I think this is a good back up plan for Zoolock if they don't hit Imprisoned Scrap Imp. I think this is tougher to see play in a Tempo Buff Priest as they don't have nearly the same level of card draw as Warlock, especially since this has anti-synergy with Voracious Reader. Disciplinarian Gandling is practically a win condition on turn 4, which makes me think it has to see play in at least Zoolock.
New Warlock Minion - Void Drinker
Strong card that push "fragment mechanincs". It's statistc are so strong and also it have taunt with a small condition. We will hate it
[SA] The New Soul Quest Big Demon Control Lock
Thanks for replying! Yes, it is a heavy deck, but the quest will make all the big minions 0 mana, which is why it's focused on late game, and control the early game, perhaps too much, and I will have to cut some high cost cards to get more early game minions out, Questing Explorer would definitely be a good card to include instead.

New Rogue Minion - Shifty Sophomore
It's solid, but random Combo-Cards are usually bad. Otherwise, Whirlkick Master would have seen Play.
New Druid Spell - Partner Assignment
I like it. This card provides fuel for the early game to fight for the board while being cheap enough to fuel Kael'thas Sunstrider.
New Druid & Shaman Minion - Groundskeeper
Virtually any control/combo oriented deck, due to their defensive nature and tendency to run 5+ mana spells, will want to run this. I'm guessing the only exception is in druid if Fungal Fortunes finds a new spot on the meta.
