How's this for an updated Fan the Hammer? Costs 4 now, and the wording is closer to Shellshot to get across how it works. It still rotates through all enemies; it does not stop on the right-most enemy (unless you started at the left-most).
If it's fundamentally flawed, I'll post something else. I will say, though, that Shellshot can hit a target multiple times, potentially becoming a slightly-cheaper Fireball if there's only one enemy minion. Fan the Hammer cannot do that, so they're not that identical. It's like a reverse Shellshot mixed with lining up a Defile...that also hits face lol. On the subject of face damage, restricting it to enemy minions takes up more text-space, not less, 'cause I'd have to fit the word "minion" in there twice. That would be a challenge :/

I agree with the others about the nature of a 4-Mana destroy-two-minions "combo" that really only requires one card. I think it's a neat direction to go, but the card is just too cheap for that kind of power, double-Frost rune or not.
BasilAnguis
Careful with Serpent Sting: as it reads now it technically would not count. I know it's kinda nit-picky but "loses 1 Attack and Health" is not damage, nor an actual destroy effect. Extinction is fun, but Fresh Ingredients is the best card of the three in my opinion. Concoctions were/are popular tokens to play around with; I think you can net a decent score.
Possessed Lackey with better stats and a better target to pull. This is good and can end games if it doesn't get answered with silence.
The only issue might be building a Paladin deck with mostly spells since you can't really use your small supplementary minions with this (although I suspect we'll get some decent spells in this set considering the legendary spell)
This is amazing. 2 mana to heal only your minions 3 health? That's a solid deal in and of itself with all the reborn undead Priest already packs. Then you leave a spooky scary minion on the board that they need to deal with on top of that? Seriously? What's not to like about this?
Honestly, as long as Paladin finds a way to close out games, this is kinda nuts. If it doesn't get silenced it's basically impossible to race Paladin now. If it does gets silenced that just means something else won't be.
Maybe this just fails due to lack of overall support, but as a standalone card this is pretty crazy.
If there was a greater target for Silence effect, I've not seen it in a while. Granted 5 mana to continue bringing it back onto the board can be daunting in the current meta... just look at Deathbringer Saurfang. However with ways to cheat it out, like Cavalry Horn, it could be a major pain mid-late game with the added lifesteal effect it imparts on the incoming minion... ugh... just thinking about Brasswing getting dropped as you run this into something big, gain 3 life, and perhaps wipe, if not get a lot of life back, from the board.
DH looks alright. Eye of Shadow implies Aldrachi Warblades leaving (because otherwise what's the point?).
Glaivetar is good and finally gives some sort of justification for running Outcast cards (although why they didn't reveal any new OUtcast cards alongside it is beyond me, maybe it's all in the Core set)
Going down Swinging is actually a pretty neat card. I would have preferred if it hit face as wel but that was probably broken with too many attack buffs. Either way, it's nice to have some decent boardclears in DH for once.
Instrument Smasher is probably bad though. Too many low value weapons and the highroll potential just isn't there. I guess it works in a funny way with the spell, but that's about it.
This seems lack luster when there already is a cheaper version for buffs that is evergreen. The treant option is nice, if there was another Goru the Mightree type of support, but it would need to offer something a little more.. like maybe Untapped Potential. Other than that, this seems like achievement support at this point
That's what I'm thinking. Warrior definitely has enough valuable targets for this, and you can pretty realistically stabilize at around turn 7 with stuff that aggro just cannot get past. The only issue is playing Blackrock 'n' Roll at turn 5 consistently and the only thing that helps with that is a specific tutor
The dev's dedication to making Demon Hunter as uninteresting as possible continues unabated. Today we get mediocre minions that give your hero abilities temporary that will amount to nothing because the minions are overcosted for what they do and the abilities have a silly opportunity cost. The most powerful and effective DH cards have typically had nothing to do with DH's theme and that trend seems to continue: whenever we get close to something on-flavor, the quality drops off.
It doesn't help that Outcast has never jelled as a thematic concept. They'dve been better off making Illidari a tribe.
Blackrock 'n' Roll is good. Does it need a crapton of support? Sure. But it's on-brand, offers a ladder-relevant OTK, and it could get better as rotation goes forward. It's deck-defining but it allows for multiple kinds of decks to use it. And can you imagine discovering this nightmare and casting it twice or more? If Standard becomes too fast for this card, Standard is wrong and this card is right.
DJ Manastorm is weird. It's one of the few times we've seen a "wind-up" effect. The real, serious punishment comes next turn when you lay out not just your free, zero-cost spell on the Manastorm turn but the other beatdown big spells lurking in there. So your hand has to be set up and you have to be at 9+1 to 10 mana to make this go. I can appreciate everyone saying they're sick of Big Spell Mage (not a fan of random crap wins myself), but Manastorm is a weird effect in its own right, right? If it weren't for the RNG nature of the finisher, I think this would be an unambiguously good thing to explore.
I really did not think that the reveal season would halt the competition this much, but here we are.
Linkblade91
This is certainly a bold idea, and I like it. It might need to be 4 mana (looking at Shellshot), but I appreciate how fearless you are by posting the card at all.
Wailor
Transmute is a good card, but because it's Rogue and they always get taxed on all their spells, it needs to be 3 mana.
Roar of Time almost feels like a card that I would make. I like the effect, but I'm not sure how you'd play it to take advantage of your extra mana since you mostly want to play a board clear and a minion which you can't really do here.
BasilAnguis
I do prefer this version of Serpent Sting over the other one, but it's still too weak to be played. Damage over time on minions is not really something that comes up because minions generally don't last long enough for it. Blood Boil for example, is mostly just played as a Consecration with Lifesteal that sometimes nets you extra damage on one minion.
EXTINCTION is amusing even though the title really shouldn't be capitalized. Warlock sometimes has the ability to heal pretty well, which is slightly concerning.
"Fresh" Ingredients is probably my favorite card on yours.
Beyond that, it read as if having a single Frozen minions and then Freezing a second one with this will trigger the board clear effect. That may not have been intended, but that's definitely a no for me. Basically just 4 mana to destroy 2 minions at that point.
I would also suggest getting different artwork. Discussion of how morally in/correct it is aside, the art itself isn't really good. I realize this isn't really your fault since it's computer-generated, but I would still suggest finding new art if possible.
It is not that bad card as you might think at first. It adds stats not replace. So 5 Mana 4/4 will become 5 Mana 9/9 not 5/5. This, plus Lor'themar looks good. Yes it is legendary card but each time I play Lor'themar it does nice things so this would be like second Lor'themar.
I’m going to disagree, mainly because it’ll cost more money on a yearly basis. That wouldn’t bother me if Hearthstone had more ways to play with the cards I have (I know you’ve heard this from me before), but we don’t. Standard, Wild, Duels which I consider a waste of dev time, Tavern Brawl which only stays around because players would have a meltdown if they couldn’t get their weekly free pack, are the only modes in which our cards matter.
Standard rotates every year and Wild where broken decks exist (sometimes) are the main two formats. There are literally thousands of cards in the collection manager but the devs waste time on Mercenaries, Duels, and yet another forgettable Tavern Brawl, instead of giving us formats that fully utilize our collections. Not to mention I don’t think it has dawned on some of them that if they gave actual reasons for players to buy more packs, they’d buy more packs because they wanted to, not just to keep up with expansions/metas
I also can’t say Hearthstone is actively dying but rather it’s almost to the point where the majority of players who call it their ‘main game’ are the people fully invested, similar to the players who kept WoW alive when it had a few bad expansions (I’ve only heard good things about Dragonflight).
Edit: I mean hell, Tournament mode, formats, guilds. Basic things they can add within a year each and they choose not to do it but instead try to sell us more cards
That is why I said provided they don't increase the overall cost the same. If they effectively increase the price of playing by 33% with the additional set, that's a super hard pass from me.
They really do just need to stick another format in the game. Rotate the sets in it every couple of months and it'll be a breath of fresh air. I suspect they are too afraid to do it because it might end up making Standard look like a joke and we certainly can't have that happen! The best part is if they rotate content on a good enough schedule, you never need to balance anything! You could do card bans to keep the super annoying stuff out but that's fairly low effort.
Either way, just hear me out on this one. This on 5, Lor'themar on 7 and then you just one-shot your opponent with a 30-attack Trenchstalker. I don't care if it's good, I'll fucking do it.
That would be a 34 attack Trenchstalker. I'm with you, though, that would be one hell of a way to win the game. Maybe Decimator Olgra wants a piece of this action, too.
DJ Manastorm seems like a coold card. Given Kalecgos’s success (or lack there of) recently I don’t have amazing expectations, but this effect is probably just asking to be abused
I am so damn sick of Rune of the Archmage. But I'm also anxious about what they'll replace it with. You know there are going to be some insane big spells for Mage to make DJ Manastorm work out. I mean, Rune itself isn't the problem (sometimes it whiffs pretty badly). The problem is Mages getting to cast Rune over and over and over for little to no mana. DJ Manastorm is going to provide plenty of those feel bad moments.
Big Spell Mage, here we go again. Mage only has three repeatable archetypes, apparently: Secrets, Random Casino Bullshit, and Big Spell. At least Rune of the Archmage is rotating...to make room for another Random Casino Bullshit Big Spell, I'm sure.
I think this game is too expensive for most people in the world.
It’s too expensive period, even for a whale like myself. With rumors (and pretty much a downright confirmation) that Hearthstone will go from three expansions a year to four, I’d imagine a good chunk of us will jump ship and be done with it. The expansions, more importantly the cards, are worthless since Team 5 limits us on how we can play with them. So why buy more of them?
I think 4 expansions will be a net positive for the game, provided that they keep the overall cost the same.
Bonus points for Bobby Kotick in that scenario because when they announce cheaper pack bundle prices, people that aren't clued into why that is happening (4 sets vs 3) they'll come back and buy cards.
I’m going to disagree, mainly because it’ll cost more money on a yearly basis. That wouldn’t bother me if Hearthstone had more ways to play with the cards I have (I know you’ve heard this from me before), but we don’t. JUdging by the Shaman set, they are not bound to reveal every synergistic at once, meaning there could very well be some card that actually make this worth running.
Specifically I'm thinking about possibly getting a tutor for Fire Spells (or maybe even better a card that just says "discover a Fire spell from your deck, so you can still run other fire spells). Either that or something that shuffles big boys into your deck (we have Faelin, but he doesn't work all that well with this)
Either way, just hear me out on this one. This on 5, Lor'themar on 7 and then you just one-shot your opponent with a 30-attack Trenchstalker. I don't care if it's good, I'll fucking do it.
