  • Nerfs are Around the Corner! Our Thoughts on the Upcoming July Hearthstone Balance Changes

Priest gets on my nerves too. I usually just concede and move on when I queue one. And I'm sure the decks I like are the bane of someone else's existence. (mostly midrange or combo) I've always preferred facing aggro than control. I've found that the closer you get to hitting legend, the more the game expects you to play meta decks. And the more frustrating the climb can be. That's why i've mostly ignored grinding that extra 5 levels each month. especially when, once you get to legend, the game expects you to keep grinding or feel terrible as your rank sinks further down. If there was one thing i wish the game did better, it would be to reward you more when you play less conventional decks. Once I've faced a deck a certain amount of times, I want nothing to do with it. But I haven't given up on the game as there's still a lot of fun to be had. I almost never play meta decks and still manage to climb to diamond each month. Some of those days spent climbing can be a struggle and I just move on to BG's or other games altogether. Others, however, can be quite fun and rewarding. I'm sorry you've reached this breaking point. Maybe taking a break isn't the worst idea.

Good ideas. I'd forgotten all about the Bladed Gauntlet. I wonder if the two cards would work together in a wild meme deck.

Glad to hear you stuck it out and had fun with the combo!

  • Nerfs are Around the Corner! Our Thoughts on the Upcoming July Hearthstone Balance Changes

It's a shame what they have done to the game (particularly) with this expansion. We're now receiving this patch HS needed 2-3 months ago. Hurrah! It's impossible to trust them anymore. Team 5 is suddenly fixing the game by removing huge tempo swings, but I bet, at the fist opportunity, they'll print some shit that breaks HS fundamentals again. Those mistakes are actually never new, just the same old obvious mistakes again and again - showing us they learned nothing or we are dealing with shady business from Activision. Even now they are leaving a lot of remnants behind (again). DH - 1 mana HP. RNG, 'created by', infested the game beyond repair. I'd rather exchange all these nerfs for current Priest to be deleted from the game. Maybe Warrior will not be able to feed much on DH anymore (?), but Skipper high synergy (swing!) turns will continue to shut down classical archetypes. (...) That they don't know what they are doing is visible from the fact 30-70% (!) of classes are not being competitive throughout the last year metas (usually no win conditions (except chaos), while others have several of those). We get either half-baked metas or _obviously_ broken mess and chaos. Is there anything more dull, tedious, pointless, noncompetitive and unfun than the current meta? Pure masochism. Sorry for spreading negativity, but deep inside you know I'm telling the truth. ...which is leading me to not pre-order for the first time in a long time.

Rez Priest thanks you for these nerfs.

  • Ashes of Outland Prime Legendaries: Archivist's Lore

    Thanks for the info.

I have heard of the book named after Illidan, but since I don't own it, I wasn't aware of all lore-related things mentioned there. In the past I was interested in learning more about the backstory of Illidan and Kael'thas, so I found some videos from Nobbel87 and hirumaredx, that referenced the book. However, neither of those youtubers talked more specifically about Illidan's henchmen except maybe the felorcs, the Illidaris, and Shade of Akama. That Illidan built a soul container, that could fuel the portals for his invasions, was really exciting to read.

I have another question and I would like to hear your personal opinion on it. I admit, that the storytelling in tbc could have been better, but wasn't it a good idea to throw the players in a cloud of mystery surrounding their favourite character? I mean, Illidan was really secretive and couldn't trust some of his own allies (like Kael), yet alone outsiders. So, there was no way to know what we were actually dealing with, we could have only speculated what was going on based on the results of his actions. That's why I think, many of the lore details were intentionally left out. If people knew what Illidan was trying to prevent, they wouldn't have stopped him. What do you think?

  • Ashes of Outland Prime Legendaries: Archivist's Lore

I mean his "hand" was a weapon that dropped when he died. Interestingly as well Bladed Gauntlet is very similar in appearance and could have been an interesting part of the deathrattle to get a weapon that functioned off of armor like that, considering the Primes ability. However I also believe that its not really a character you're becoming, like Galakrond. I think if they wanted to increase flavor it would have been interesting to see the armor proc decreased, but give him some sort of multi-attack feature.

  • Heroic Galakrond OTK

Glad I could help - Enjoy your sweet card back :)

Maybe. Despite the gameplay trailers and announcements, it seems like d4 is having some trouble meeting deadlines. I can only hope they release it when its ready and not before.

  • Damn but Braum is annoying now.

Few points are now anyoing. Braun is very silly give him one buff and you cannot do much anymore. dont know if before update but who thought eye of dragon for 2 mana give a 2 livesteel free every round is a good and balance idear lose now 5 rounds in row again and dont know what do do again when you not draw remove

I always loved the energy that Hadidjah brought to any video they were in, so that will be missed! I wish the best in this new chapter of their life along with whatever this new project is. <3

Yup, this was also an incredible one!

  • 10 Card Nerfs Arriving in Hearthstone on July 14! Targets Demon Hunters, Galakrond Rogue, Pirates & More

There's still control dhunter, which is actually pretty good, though not as good as tempo.

The current tempo dhunter list with 2x Vulpera Scoundrel (not the priestess of fury build) has been doing well enough for me. Priest is not really a problem unless they highroll their discovers and random minions, in most cases they just run out of steam way before you do. Rogue and hunter depends heavily on what type, and whether they have Frozen Shadoweaver on 3 or 5. In most cases, if you can get 1 drop on 1 or Umberwing on 2, you're still favored to win it.

Its no longer an auto win by the third nerf. Now it actually demands some skill in deciding mulligans and trades. Just like any other healthy deck.

Well I suppose I phrased it badly... I meant to say that at least one archetype of hunter is affected...

Don't forget the Demon Hunter Storage Wars video! I loved almost everyone's performances in that one. Might be my favorite video like that they've ever done. Hope we get another fun one like it this next week or so for the next expansion.

    Diablo 4?

  • 10 Card Nerfs Arriving in Hearthstone on July 14! Targets Demon Hunters, Galakrond Rogue, Pirates & More

Nah man, I play as DH almost exclusively and I felt insane strength loss after every DH nerf they did. I don't think DH can survive another one because even now, playing against Priest is straight auto-concede while against Rogue and Hunter if you do not have 1-drop by turn 3, you can concede as well because it's a waste of time. I don't even want to start about how many variations and adjustments I've tried but none worked. My only hope is that the new expansion will bring some fuel again for the DHs. Demon Hunter decks are the first time I'm actually enjoying playing aggro decks in HS and it makes me sad to see they lasted only 3 months.

  • Card Nerf - Dragonqueen Alexstrasza

I am fine with this nerf. Dragonqueen Alexstrasza is probably my least favorite Highlander card (not counting Inkmaster Solia). Though I do think this may be a bit too much. On turn 9 she is unplayable, and on turn 10 you get half the value for one extra mana. I will dust my copy and maybe craft Kanrethad Ebonlocke.

I am assuming you play wild, why would you play ebonlocke in wild, when you can just play the card that discards your highest card and gives you 2 when it dies, for second guldan?

  • Ashes of Outland Prime Legendaries: Archivist's Lore

Nice read. I wish WoW and HS overlapped more, but this probably prevents either team being held back creatively. Still, I remember feeling excited and then bummed out when Mean Streets came out, as that Gadgetzan was far more interesting than the one depicted in WoW. Was hoping it was a sign of things to come for the town but that never happened. HS does a good job at picking up and expanding on lore where WoW left off. And I know that already some HS flourishes have made their way into WoW, like the League of Explorers team. More of that please.

  • The Daily Life of a Level 7 Magical Ooze

It took my 6 tries, but the combo is really fun. I went 3-3 because galakrond rogue.

  • Heroic Galakrond OTK

awesome, man:) got my card back today! i was already trying with a different exodia mage build that had Mad Scientist in it, but i see now that Ancient Mysteries is much better. also the other deck didn't have Runic Egg, which is really very helpful to have. felt amazing sitting on 4 hp and bursting galakrond into oblivion:) card back, yay:))

  • Card Nerf - Dragonqueen Alexstrasza

Disappointed that it came to this, but I understand. I hope Alex is reverted come the rotation.

  • Card Nerf - Dragonqueen Alexstrasza

I'm honestly fine with the change for Standard. It will help freshen up the meta, especially when the new rotation hits. Pull back Standard Highlander decks just a tad.

In Wild, DQ Alex is not a problem at ALL (Do any Wild games even make it to turn 9 anymore?). This nerf will be perfect if come April 2021 DQ Alex is reverted back to her former glory.
