I am only afraid that they introduced these nerfs now because they want us to buy packs from next expansion, where they print new broken mechanics/cards.
In fairness Paladin and Shaman are the two classes that have seen buffs this expansion cycle so you cannot call them out for not buffing them now. We should recognise that all classes are weak in certain metas, even with strong cards at their disposal, and shifting the meta through nerfs can be just as helpful to those classes as buffs are.
In my opinion LoR won’t last. It’s just another boring clone that feels stiff and isn’t really innovative. This is coming from a diehard LoL player (I just went 22/10 with Draven a few mins back!)
Hearthstone streamlined MtG which feels boring and stiff as well to me now (Played it age 13-25). I had a little fun with Arena, but at the end of the day I felt I was playing Mario Brothers 1 when I could be playing Super Mario World.
This last patch is especially good in preparation for a new expansion. Rogue Galakrond and Alextrasza are dominant cards that are relatively independent of the meta. This might open a lot of breathing room for new decks.
I don't know. This certainly is a great event for some players but I feel this only serves a really narrow part of the player base. Entry fee is quite high and as a casual or medium-skilled player without a pretty good collection you probably get eliminated right away. I would love to see an event that caters to a broad playerbase and also includes casual players. Something like Felfire Festival in Hearthstone. MTGA is lacking this in my opinion, but maybe it's just me :)
Quite usually, we see some forum posts that don't make sense, include shady and non-relevant links and the poster has no other activities on the site. These bots can already be reported, I always do when I see one, but it would be better to save some work for the moderators.
I propose that only accounts with more than 100 achievement points should be able to include links in their posts. That amount of points can be easily achieved by real people who can read by visiting the expansion guides, but it would stop bots that post on every forum they find.
I think these set of nerfs are a result of internal game testing with the next set of cards. I predict we will get a new set of Hearthstone cards in August!
I looked into the numbers and it is true that big dragons (16+ total stats, e.g. 8/8 or 4/12 or 12/12) make up a higher fraction of them in standard (32.6%) than in wild (24.7%). These numbers give:
54.6% chance to get at least 1 big dragon in standard, and 43.3% for wild.
10.6% to get 2 big dragons in standard, and 6.1% in wild.
So yes it is more likely in standard, but not by some crazy margin, and the standard dragon pool of 43 cards is not actually that small (being more than half the wild pool of 77).
Interestingly if you instead look at low rolls, which I arbitrarily set as dragons with less than 10 total stats, then you have 30.2% of standard and 29.9% of wild. So to odds of low rolls are pretty much identical. (Note I excluded Twilight Drake and Midnight Drake because these will often be larger than 10 total in slow decks.)
In any case, I wouldn't be a big fan of them printing a bunch of small dragons just to weaken Alex. They'd need to print so many to make a meaningful difference in a pool of 43 that you detract greatly from what dragons are meant to be: some of the biggest creatures out there. And even then the high rolls will still happen and people will still feel cheated out of games.
-----------------------------------------
I would argue the bigger difference for Alex in wild is that she is compared to other huge instant board (re)fills, which are mostly resurrection effects (e.g. N'Zoth, Bloodreaver Gul'dan and Greater Diamond Spellstone/Mass Resurrection). So in wild she's neither the biggest nor most common of the late game board fills, so she's not on many people's radar there.
Decent Nerfs - was wondering when they will Nerf Dragonqueen and the finaly did - also the Rogue Galakrond Nerf was inevitable ... at least in my oppinion it was way to strong.
Metamorphosis nerf is good - still playable altough i think that they could also have changed the Hero Power Mana Cost from the Morphosis.
The Nerf to Kayn Sunfury is ok but i thought if they would Nerf him that they would change his ability in some way. But i`m happy because i have him Normal and Golden :)
The Warglaives nerf was pretty much needed - alltough i thought they would just make the weapon weaker but this also works because it slows down the class.
Yup, do it. And it's best to dust ALL nerfed cards for a full refund. That way, you have their value in 'liquid dust'. If decks still run those cards, then you can recraft them for no additional cost for you. If they fall out of the meta, then you got a complete refund.
And many decks are already leaving her out, for example the most popular Raza Priest on HSReplay.
I've had countless 'favorite decks' over my time playing this game so I'll try to touch on every one of them. The two main types of strategies I love in card games are either midrange slugfests where it is just playing efficient things on curve, and then on the polar opposite, I love playing combo decks with a fair amount of moving parts (which probably stems from me being a diehard storm fan in MTG).
The first two decks I fell in love with were Patron Warrior and Miracle Rogue, which both just devolve into not playing the game until you delete the opponent. Granted I was never great at playing Patron Warrior because it was just too much math and I never worked on finding faster ways of adding it all up, My love for degenerate combo decks expanded later on during MSOG, where Anyfin Paladin was a niche yet powerful alternative to fill the Jade Druid/Miracle Rogue part of the meta and I grinded an ungodly amount with that deck. Then for a while, I decided to play fairly up until this expansion, with Quest Warlock bringing me back into just goldfishing the opponent with cheeky turn 7 lethal with Malygos. Pretty much all the reasons I love these decks is because I just don't get to validate the opponent with a fair match and instead get to find some way to BS a victory.
On the polar opposite side of things, after Anyfin Paladin rotated out, I stuck with the class while it transformed into a very strong midrange class in Un'goro. When I realized how much fun it was to just whack someone repetitively with random nonsense they cannot deal with very easily, I swapped over to those style of decks for the most part, playing pretty much only paladin during Un'goro, just not playing during KFT due to reasons, only to return to more paladin KnC. Then Witchwood came out and I played Even Paladin and fell in love with it. I've grinded to legend 4 times now, two of those being with Even Paladin, once with it still being an aggro deck with 4 mana Call to Arms, a somewhat wonky version in Boomsday using Glowstone Technician back when it was 6 mana, then once before Genn rotated out of standard during Rastakhan's Rumble. There haven't been too many other midrange decks that have really struck me as Even Paladin did, but I feel like that's more just the game shifting away from those strategies for the most part. I guess the other main midrange deck that I loved to play a lot was Galakrond Warrior after Shamans got deleted from the game, but since then my opinions on that deck and Galakrond as a concept, have soured so I don't look back fondly to it.
I guess now that I think about it, all the decks I loved to play just make the opponent feel like they don't get to play the game, whether that be killed out of the middle of nowhere, or just not having good enough removal to defeat what seems like an endless onslaught of efficient minions.
Healthy change IMO but still a little boring since it's such a fun card to play. I have yet to decide wether to dust it or not, Highlander Hunter/Mage should still be playable, right?
Never said that there are no other archetypes... face hunter and Dragon hunter probably will be farming some people at least in the early meta after nerfs...
You're the one who insinuated that highlander hunter is the only viable hunter deck since that's the only one you mentioned in response to my post, but whatever.
Just in case I'm not the only one who missed it: HSReplay has finally extended their deck tracker to mobile! Look for "Arcane Tracker" in your app store (Android only as far as I can tell).
I noticed it yesterday in a Reddit post with a screenshot. Played about 10 games with it. Seems to run smoothly, doesn't use up too much space on the screen, very convenient!
Dragonqueen Alexstrasza - While I am sad to see this nerf, it was needed. She is just too powerful as a Neutral Highlander card in Standard. Now, in Wild? That's another story. I hope she gets this nerf reverted when she rotates to Wild.
Corsair Cache - I wish they had removed the + Durability instead of the attack. I hate this card. Weapons are really powerful and having such a strong weapon tutor is a little ridiculous. Honestly, this card should be 3 mana so it doesn't curve into 3 mana weapons so perfectly.

mobile deck tracker finally available
Been using Arcane Tracker for the past few months, it's not bad, but their desktop version is much better.
Though as mobile app, this is expected.

Was looking for a decent Tracker for mobile - thanks!

Card Nerf - Dragonqueen Alexstrasza
Decent and a welcoming nerf - because almost every card she can generate is OP at least for 0 Mana :)
Now you can no longer play her on 9 Or 8 with coin with 1 or 2 other strong cards coming up behind her.

only 9 monthws more in standrad and if a really good deck appears I can still craft her back at same price ...

Metamorphosis - yup! Good nerf.
Kayn Sunfury - The exact nerf my Golden copy of Kayn Sunfury has been waiting for! :D
Warglaives of Azzinoth - Good nerf, especially for the sake of wild.
Dragoncaster - Also a fine and predictable nerf.
Fungal Fortunes - Also a good nerf.
Galakrond, the Nightmare - "Hey, let's make a card that draws you 4 cards, AND changes their cost to 0!" "That sounds like a great idea!"
- Team 5, 2019.
These might give the meta a tiny shake up before the next expansion. Honestly, the game is just in desperate need of that next expansion now.
What is everyone’s opinion on ARAM?
I don't know what I like better, the game mode or the chill music.
JK it's the music. I play ARAM for the music.
