First game missplay, where i could have won, but i played a claw instead of floop gloop on accident.....so i lost an easily winnable game because of that.
What if L2 Jinx were given something like “Last Breath: Draw 2”? That way she would refill your hand after you were forced to dump it, and your opponent can’t totally destroy you by destroying your Jinx when you have an empty hand.
Level 10 Vault every week since open beta; 100% on all reward tracks.
15 Champ wildcards
17 Epic wildcards
67 Rare wildcards
206 Common wildcards
97836 Shards
16 Expedition tokens
My collection is missing 28 champions, 39 epics, and a few rare and commons--I don't really make the effort unless there's a specific deck I want to try.
80k shards wow =O Guess you guys are stacked for the next exp... well done!
The issue is that other than crafting for the completion sake, there's not a lot to spend crafting resources on. I already have more than enough decks to keep myself entertained, and if I do see something that catches my fancy it generally only makes a slight dent in my wildcard reserves, let alone shards.
It's hard to argue that Noxious isn't the highest played and highest win rate region atm because statistically it is.
Run it allegiance, run it with p/z, run it with ionia, run it with frejord, run it with shadow.
The reason why this region does so well is it's auto includes, the fact that you're going to run transfusion, disciple, demolitionist, and probably grenadier.
That's your 12 - 2 drops right there zero thought required, now what's the rest of your list going to be, well you have lots of options but the core is always going to be strong regardless.
Tier 2 - Freijord
mid range in general is a little weak atm so while this regions has the best champions overall, it might not matter if things remain as fast as they are right now.
That being said, pairing this region with shadow makes for solid control lists, and noxious makes up for the regions weak 2 drops.
I would stay away from bilgewater now that yoink has been nerfed twice in a row.
Omen hawk remains the best 1 drop in the game, and fury of the north is the best trick.
Don't expect this region to go anywhere regardless of the meta.
Tier 3 - Ionia
Did you know that elusives are in two of the best decks in the game and that will of ionia is under-costed and concussive palm is now a 3 of
At the end of the day it doesn't really matter that Yasuo, Lee Sin, and Karma aren't as good as they once were, because we have Zed
The nerf to solitary monk doesn't really hurt all that much and just puts the card where it should be power level wise
Tier 4 - Shadow Isles
Shadow will always be relevant due to healing, removal, recursion and it's ability to create chump blocks
But we can't pretend that the region isn't becoming more of a splash for key cards as of late, as opposed to an all in choice.
So we see it go down a tier
Tier 5 - Bilgewater
Yoink getting nerfed over and over again has hurt this region but it still has a lot to offer
Kegs are strong, and make it rain is the best early anti aggro tool
It goes wide surprisingly well, it has cycling tools, it has riptide rex, it can be aggressive and it has strong champs
Deep is always something to keep your eye on as well, just waiting beneath the surface to be tier 1 again
Tier 6 - P/Z
A pretty low playrate region excluding ezreal lists, which is currently this regions saving grace
The issue is that you are forced to cast spells to kill your opponents units, and only Ezreal benefits from this
So you play him
Jinx requires you to get rid of your hand, and while she is better than people think, it's easy to disrupt her play pattern
Heimer is good, but he's honestly played as more of an Ionia card right now, and doesn't even fit his region
Vi is just a fully stated thresh that doesn't tutor is isn't very exciting to play
Tier 7 - Demacia
This is the region that people collectively agreed that they didn't like and didn't want to be good
They nerfed it's mid range options, they nerfed it's buffs, they nerfed it's late game win cons
Unfortunately, that puts it as a worse version of Noxious right now
When the reality is that this region should probably counter Noxious on paper, as it used to.
But do we want to see the return of bannerman, I would be okay with it, but I imagine others wouldn't
Anyway that's the update, let me know what you guys think, and what I inevitable got wrong
Is Heimerdinger so problematic at the moment that it needs a change? I don't really play Ranked that much. Haven't seen awfully lot of him in Normal mode. I know Riot plans to change some of the Turrets, and I'm curious what they'll end up doing.
Anyway, for me the last one is overly complicated. The second one would be very frustrating for the Heimerdinger player, and for example the Barrier Turret would rarely get any value of its Barrier (as I can't really see anyone playing it from hand with its real cost). The first one is closest to my liking but I'm still not a fan of disincentivizing playing almost any cheap spells, which are the thing that make combat phases so interesting for me. I also feel that these changes would make Heimer really slow. Therefore, I'd argue that you'd need to change the Health of some of the Turrets to compensate if you'd like to make him playable.
If I'd were tasked with toning down the token spam, I'd just go with something simple like "The first Turret you play each round costs (0)." You could still play a lot of them in one round but only if you have the mana, and it would definitely encourage casting at least one high cost spell per round. While his current Health is a big weakness, I think it's very much needed to stay like that or he'd be really frustrating to face against. I don't play LoL so I can't say anything about the true flavor, but for me a weak statline seems to fit him better than a big bulky unit stats.
"Problematic" is mostly a subjective term, but there is general sentiment that his current behavior provides so more value than it ought and that he is over-represented in the meta.
Personally, I would make it even simpler: "The first time you cast a spell each round, create a fleeting Turret". That would limit his ability to pop-off and also discourage against that extremely frustrating Round 5 Heimer -> Flash of Brilliance -> Twin Disciplines -> double elusive turret tempo swing.
Ok, that's it. I'm taking a break until at least the next round of nerfs. I am sick and tired of every match I play in both standard and wild being against fucking demon hunter. Fuck this shit.
Just finished the Basic set; not sure how I feel about some of them, so I'll leave it alone for now and review them later. Also added a couple new cards to the front-line Examples and "The Rest" section.
A shout-out to Demonxz95 and his guide for custom Basic sets. I used it as a means to double-check my work and make sure I was on the right track.
I like the overall flavor and as already mentioned the cohesive art style. Some cards are kinda powercreeping a bit (not literally), for example Pandaren Guardian is definitely a better Shieldmaiden.
One thing i dont like, and at this point it is probably too late, is the new keyword. I really dislike keywords that have (x) attribute in them. Yes, there is Overload, but that has a pretty clean UI. You would need to make something like a mechanic icon at the bottom of minions picture, same as for trigger effects and such, and even then having to constantly hover over minions to check how long until the effect triggers, even more pain in the ass for mobile users ... these kind of mechanics are not meant for Hearthstone. I get wanting to add more complexity, but you need to do it in a HS friendly way, this is not it unfortunately.
All that being said, this is still a custom set, so you can do whatever the hell you want and ultimately, the strife i have with that i suppose doesnt matter in this setting, so good luck with finishing your set! Maybe someone will read this and take it to heart when designing their own set in the future so my rumbling is worth something :)
Thanks for your thoughts! The issue you are describing is something I actually have put some thought to, but maybe not enough. I stopped at the point where I decided Stamina would work similar to Dormant, reflecting the counting mechanism. But while Dormant minions are easy to spot on the board, Stamina guys would need something to flag them. The easy way out would be to say that I'd introduce a little hour glass at the base of the minion, similar to the lightning bolt for other effects. I'll keep your advice mind for future projects and will try to work around this problem.
It's a subjective POV, but I feel stretching new exp announcement so late is... Too late. And players might get away from the grip of the game in the meanwhile.
AoO has already exhausted its traction, players need new stuff, even just some reveals to fantasize about, but we need new stuff.
Nerfs can refresh the meta a little bit, but the fact some nerfs are happening on the same classes over and over for the same reasons actually reinforce the impression of overwhelming staleness, instead of dispelling it.
I'm struggling to find motivation to get back to Wild D5 despite 10stars and the fact I absolutely enjoy my homebrew Aggro Reno Paladin.
Anyone else feeling the same?
They still have about a month till the usual August launch, so they r well within their norm with the announcement, but yes, it should come pretty soon id imagine.
Btw, what is Aggro Reno Paladin? How, why?:D I need a decklist!
It's the deck in my signature. This is what happens when the meta is rigged towards Aggro, but you still wanna play Aggro yourself. :p
Looking forward to seeing announcement and some fancy cards next week. Hopefully on Tuesday (I think an announcement wouldn't overlap an already announced nerf patch).
Whatever image hosting site you use, you need to insert a direct link to your image. Usually ends with *.png or *.jpg.

If there isnt a way to get the direct url on the site itself, you need to right-click the image in your browser and pick "view image", that should send you to the page with a direct link to your picture, that url you need to use in our text editor when inserting pictures.

I reckon it'll be Thursday at the earliest. I don't think blizz would have two significant events in the game (major nerfs and expansion reveal) hitting on the same date, as they would dilute one another's coverage. Could be wrong, though.
The nerf announcement event is essentially over as far as news go

Posting something so soon after I post mine; trying to steal my thunder, eh? lol :P
I'm sorry. I had already decided to make this post this weekend when you came out with yours. My first reaction was to postpone my stuff until next weekend, but then I was reminded of the incoming announcement of the new expansion and I definitely wanted to get this out before that. If it's any comfort to you, I don't think I'm any competition to your Custom Class. Your two leagues above my game. I really didn't want to be rude.
The "lol :P" at the end was meant to imply I'm poking fun at you; I'm really not bothered at all.
Thanks to all of you for your super detailed and helpful feedback! It means a lot to me that you seem to like the overall theme. I still consider myself a custom card design novice, so this is a major opportunity to learn something. You are of tremendous help in this.
I'll definitely heed your advice to drop Alex 3.0 (her stamina was one of the first that I came up with and just fitted the character very well) and find names for the legendarys. I'll also keep looking for better art. I'll probably cut the "Pandaren" part in the name of those cards, at least for the minions. It was meant as a compromise between nothing and a new tribe.
The first/last mechanic is a great idea, I'll keep this in mind when I rework the cards with balance issues you pointed out to me. It's true that the race theme still is still missing in the cards. I had initially meant to add a paragraph about potential PVE content like those "survive x turns" encounters. Your suggestion is a way better idea to reflect the theme!
@Xarkkal: Thanks for your advice! I probably lack the time for a meaningful WoW experience, but I did read a lot about this on the Web. Your example of gaining rep being a huge grind was something I actually knew about but haven't found a way to implement yet. I'm looking forward to receiving your detailed feedback, please don't spare me ;-)

actually I prefer a late announcement and a quick reveal (like in the last expansions) vs early announcement and lot of wait (as in the past)
