I kind of liked it and since it was free don't want to complain about too much.
But there have been many missed opportunities for me.
Building a team of allys was a nice idea. But all the recruits did not often play a decisive role in the battles. I won easily weather I drew them or not.
Also it felt weird to see my deck growing without being noticed by the game
I very much liked the dungeon runs or even witchwood style where you could select new cards and build your own deck/strategy.
3 nerfs and still standing on top of the charts in hsreplay.
4th nerf and tempo dhunters go down? Not likely. It will falter in win rates for the first 2 weeks, but then someone will figure it out and before we know it it'll be on top all over again. Considering that this change barely registers as a nerf, I'm doubly sure of this.
Best thing to happen to an aggro deck is when everyone underestimates it.
To clarify further. The wording on Pack Leader is very important.
Take the example of Alleycat which reads "Battlecry: Summon a 1/1 Cat". Pack Leader reads "Whenever you summon a Beast, give it +3 Attack", so it triggers first since it's whenever and not after. When Khadgar activates, as far as he knows, the Alleycat has summoned a 4/1 Tabbycat since the Pack Leader has already taken effect during the summoning (that's why it is crucial that Pack Leader's text is whenever). As a result, Khadgar will trigger the summoning of another 4/1, which will in turn be buffed by Pack Leader into a 7/1.
This is my understanding of the interaction, and I'm unsure if the devs have clarified this anywhere online. I agree that when you think about it for a second, it seems odd since Khadgar doesn't "copy" the minion, but causes another summon to take place. Hopefully this has helped somewhat!
When you play a Beast with Khadgar / Pack Leader in play, the initial Beast summoned is buffed by Pack Leader and then Khadgar creates a copy, which is then buffed again. Ie. Alley Cat + Pack Leader = two 4/1s. Alley Cat + Pack Leader + Khadgar = two 4/1s and two 7/1s. Same story with Rat Pack. Each Rat is buffed by Pack Leader before Khadgar summons a copy which is buffed in turn.
TLDR; the Pack Leader buff happens before Khadgar summons a copy.
I did not mean to impose my opinions on anyone else, and my interest in a survey above was a genuine one so I had a fair idea of whether I am an outlier or not.
I don't mind aggro decks or even aggro metas. My frustration stems from aggro classes already existing, and if they ever gave rogue any burst beyond Leeroy and Eviscerate they could easily have made a DH-like deck without the fanfare and complications of a new class. Of course rogue doesn't have the lifesteal, AoE, minion sacrificing and big demons, but hey, warlock has all of that stuff.
I guess I'm just frustrated that an entire expansion cycle is overshadowed by the addition of a new class that has to be balanced slowly, when more or less the same decks could have been achieved by giving rogue and warlock a few cards. Then if they are a problem, we know very well how to balance that quickly without having to incrementally adjust 15 different cards.
I had Khadgar and a Pack Leader. When I summoned beasts, every other one got the +3 attack twice. Played Alleycat, got a 4/1, a 4/1 and a 7/1. Played Rat Pack, and when it died, summoned a 4/1, a 7/1, a 4/1 and a 7/1. No reason for Pack Leader to buff the same minion twice, right?
AngryShuckie, you cant display your opinion as everyone's opinion. I enjoy DH and I think that it was a welcome change to the meta and I really hate to play against any 30 minutes match against Priest or Control Warrior in the past. There has to be aggro to counter that.
But I can understand that it can be very frustated to get killed with 16 hp left.
I know WoW has a PvP aspect, but for much of that game classes are not in direct competition with each other. Yes you might want to optimise your characters for high level raiding, but if you are avoiding PvP one class being overpowered does not make the other classes weaker.
Meanwhile HS is almost entirely PvP and 1 dominant class does directly impact how successful you can be with the others, and there are few options to avoid that problem. So Blizzard tradition or not, the approach of making a class overpowered to guarantee use while you balance it is much more destructive than it is in WoW.
Now, I don't mean to suggest DH is always going to be a problem (although I do think it's core design elements are very risky, especially mixing aggro with so much card draw), and I'm sure in the long run it will wax and wane like the other classes do. But so far I haven't seen a good reason for it to exist beyond generating a short-term spike in interest, which ended up being a very short-term spike because of how quickly it frustrated players.
To be fair, it is kind of a Blizzard tradition that newly introduced classes are overpowered or overtuned. Same thing happened with Death Knights, Monks and Demon Hunters in World of Warcraft when they were launched. Then, an expansion later, they were finally balanced, and enough players chose the new class as their main to be worth being implemented.
I'm pretty sure that's a crayfish, although I'm not sure what species exactly. I would guess it's the eastern Asian/Eastern North American variant.
I have actually encountered a whole bunch of these in a lake that we had to sample to assess the chemical and ecological water quality. It's an invasive species here in the Netherlands and these crayfish almost entirely wiped out the fish population in the lake, so we had ourselves a nice barbeque with all of the crayfish that we sampled. Unfortunately I also got pinched quite a bunch of times.
I felt compelled to complete it even if the reward was uninteresting to me, so I guess I liked it.
I appreciate the effort with rhymes, as bard-like features are always good for tavern vibes.
Maybe the adventure could have churned some encounters into one, and definitely the transition between Outcast and Trainees should have been way more dramatic than "it rains, let's find shelter, and then start slapping each other for no reason and suddenly feel da powa"
I'd call an animal organisation, if I were you. My father found a bat on his balcony two years ago and he wanted it to be in some place safe. He called the animal organisation in our city and he was advised to bring the bat there.
So, if you contact the experts in your country, they could tell you what to do with this "lobster". They might even decide to go to your place and pick it up for themselves.
What?! How does one "bring a bat" anywhere. How do you catch it? You just have a spare bird cage lying around or what? How would you get him in? They should come for it, no? Damn i would have been creeped the hell out.
It was definitely a move that can be justified, but it has had the unfortunate effect of making a lot of players dislike DH instead of being interested in a new class, at which point you have to question whether adding the class has backfired.
If it had been fairly weak everyone would have understood why and would have rooted for it as it improved over time. Instead, DH was immediately so powerful that a large section of the player base turned against it right from the start, and we've just been waiting for the class to be slowly brought in line ever since.
I would be interested to see a survey of how many players enjoy the game more/less now that DH is here. I know I personally find it harder to muster the motivation to play than I did last year.
I agree that this was the hardest boss so far (3 chapters finished). What did the trick for me was a Spectral Cutlass from the 2 mana "discover a weapon from another class" spell on curve.
I’m very glad that the adventure was entirely free, so the fact that it was a total cakewalk was very welcome to get that sweet cardback.
Only complaint is that Jaraxxus felt way too lacking of a fight, like COME ON. I was hoping to see some like elements of a Boom Labs puzzle or something in the fight, maybe a random reference or something. Also was disappointed the concert idea was only for the trailer, I would have loved to just like fight in a moshpit or something, I have bad personal tastes. Also dislike that Illidan was literally defeated by the power of friendship like its literally the “we were bad, but now we’re good” meme. Like his 1000 years of conviction which literally made him betray his race and sell out to the demons resolved in “but we’re friends” “oh right lol, whoops”.

What creature is this?
I'd say it's a Beast. Could be a hyper-realistic Mech, though.

A lot of times in pirate warrior during MSoG era. And it still remains my most hated archetype.

Wow that cardback is awesome... if only you could delete that Demon Huner logo and replace it for Orc logo...

Yes, he summons an extra 4/1 rat, which then gets buffed by the pack leader.
