The change was necessary in some respects. It was getting a little too much, since its nearly impossible to play any 1-2 drops on turn 1-2 without risking it being destroyed with a zero mana spell.
The change doesnt prevent activating cards like satyr overseer and glaivebound adept on turn 3 and 5, since its possible to just hold on to a weapon, but at least its possible to see it coming now. Still, the change does make dhunter's burst damage potential kinda a little too high at first glance, and I won't be too surprised to see dhunters highroll themselves into victory from otherwise unwinnable states more often now.
The adventure was fun. I really liked the characters along the adventure, and I actually felt bad for Baduu. The rhyming was a bit weird and seems out of character for Illidan (although this is coming from someone who isn't a lore expert), it seems like it was being narrated by Gruntilda the Witch. The ending was also a bit of a slap in the face.
The encounters were hit or miss. It felt like I was either steamrolling them or I lost to them. Felstorm Run was a unique departure, although the randomness was a bit frustrating, and Shahraz can just burn in hell.
I thougt Blizzard had stated that DH was intentionally more powerful. That way the class made in direct impact in the meta and they patched it after 2 days.
I know a lot of people have had comments about how the team failed in the Demon Hunter launch and all because of the number of nerfs to the class in the first two months, but think of it like this: Blizzard had months and months of closed and open beta to eventually balance and release the game with the original nine classes. So this first few months of DH in the game were just like the "beta" period for the class.
But personally, I feel like this change is almost a buff than an nerf. As many have stated, Odd DH in wild definitely appreciates this change and I ended up winning my first standard game after the change because it gives 2 attack instead of just 1. Small sample size, but still... I think I personally value the increased attack over the previous 0 mana cost. Sorry, Altruis, but it's true!
Overall underwhelming. I think this expansion the team was fully focused on trying to get out the Demon Hunter class and the solo content was an after thought. And I think the fact that it was free this time around shows they knew it.
Agreed that the change is a good start, but I have finished a couple of games today where multiple players had the build going and were tossing out all competition. It’s too strong of a build that is so easy to build.
- Macaw
- Hydra
- Wolf
- Rivendare
That's the nuts. Multiples/Golds of any of the pieces identifies which person with the build is most likely to win.
Currently, LoR does have random mulligans, since they would definitely have informed players if it wasn't random.
However, why doesn't LoR make opening hands less random? What if LoR implemented a rule change that when you mulligan a card away you will always draw a card that costs less than it if possible? Given that LoR is online, I see no reason why they would keep Mulligans random when they have the ability to bias them to help the player. They could also do something like make it so that you never get a 7+ cost card in your opening hand, since it doesn't feel particularly fun to get a bricked out hand and be unable to play.
I think just sending the cards you muligan out to the bottom of the deck or somewhere in the middle maybe best.
As sometimes you want at least one large spell for turn 3 or 5. Like for example turn 5 Fiora + Unyielding Spirit.
Maybe for when they start adding different modes and/or tournament features (although honestly things like an official timer and spectator mode would do so much more for that), but not for ranked. Ranked is currently a quick best-of-1, and I think that's the way it should stay.
Yeah no major complaints since it was free, it's just Illidan is such a cool character with some amazing lore, having him speaking like he was reading "'twas the night before Christmas" is really out of character. It doesn't ruin Illidan, but this is easily the worst thing Illidan has ever been a part of.
@ anchorm4n: Maybe something like this? I agree the effect doesn't need to be legendary. It doesn't stack (twice doesn't become thrice) so having two just makes it more consistent. It also isn't that powerful and hard to pull off; something like this is probably destined to be meme-y which is okay. I lowered the mana to 5 since with the randomness it can't be abused as easily. Thanks for the feedback! :)
I agree with Xarkkal, if it targets enemies (in italic!) it is legendary worthy after all. Using Kael'thas statline is a great idea!
I'd call an animal organisation, if I were you. My father found a bat on his balcony two years ago and he wanted it to be in some place safe. He called the animal organisation in our city and he was advised to bring the bat there.
So, if you contact the experts in your country, they could tell you what to do with this "lobster". They might even decide to go to your place and pick it up for themselves.
What?! How does one "bring a bat" anywhere. How do you catch it? You just have a spare bird cage lying around or what? How would you get him in? They should come for it, no? Damn i would have been creeped the hell out
I just asked my father about the bat and he told me, that it was from these species:
As you can see, it has a size smaller than the human hand and that's how my father brought it to those people (he used gloves though, since bats can be carrier of diseases). The reason why it didn't fly away was because it was dehydrated and malnourished, since it was winter back then. We found it lying ill near my father's plants.

Changed the wording to say improved by Spell Damage instead of affected by Spell Damage and increased the mana by 1 because of the Battlecry targeting enemies. Feel like where it is now is a strong work towards card that would have to utilize Spell Damage minions (which are normally very weak) towards a great payoff. Thoughts on anything needing to be changed before submitting would be greatly apprecaited.
My only suggestion would be to think about changing it to all spells you played this game. This would get easily out of control in a mirror match, and would feel really bad for your opponent to have their spells that they played improved with spell damage thrown back in their face. If you do all spells instead of your spells, I would suggest making targets random instead of only enemies.
That's not a great comparison. Twin Slice is MUCH more flexible than Heroic Strike since it's split in two, and Demon Hunter as a class wants to attack with the hero MUCH more often than Warrior.
And it will likely still suck because every hero that is tied to a single tribe inevitably lives or dies by their ability to get that tribe going ASAP. Which is entirely dependent on randomness and outside of your control.

What creature is this?
I just asked my father about the bat and he told me, that it was from these species:
