I sincerely hope that the OoC community (members and experience) is kept alive in whatever shape or form, because I have had a blast since arriving on this wonderful site from the very start and I think it would be a terrible shame if this would disappear altogether.
Agreed.
It saddens me that this awesome site isn't getting the traffic is deserves but I do understand this game is almost 10 years old and things are not what they used to be.
Yeah, aging games kinda sucks. It was very difficult to gain any traction due to the age of the space plus Hearthstone as a whole doesn't give you many things to talk about. Cards, decks... that's about it. Mercenaries gave us a huge traffic boost since we were able to put a database together for it (even with its flaws) and unfortunately the mode just had zero staying power. Battlegrounds, we never really gave a huge push into but I don't think we'd have been able to do much with it anyway since we don't have a way to collect stats and Auto Chess games really need that stats push. Duels always gave us some decent traffic too though, but lack of staff members playing at a decent level harmed content potential.
i hope everything will work out ok and that out.of.everything will take off :D
Same!
What's the next big trend to chase? We had digital card games. Battle Royales. VR's ramping up. Movie games?
I don't think VR will ever really be at a point where it truly blows up. We're still primarily only seeing experiences out of it rather than full games and the cost is just so high to get into it. Sure, the Quest series from Meta/Oculus has been a great way to do budget VR, but they are quite far behind what is available on PC and Playstation. Cost will come down overtime, but you also need a lot of AAA games to push into the realm of VR to have a chance at it working out. People can't as easily play a VR title for hours on end though, and accessibility with VR is kinda trash too which further limits the interest. It's a shame because I love VR. I'd kill for a GOOD VR MMO. I'm also totally just content with VR Racing though because that be fun as hell when you got a nice wheel.
I wish I had a crystal ball to know what would be the next big thing though. Riot's MMO will definitely be up there but I don't see that bringing forth a new wave of MMOs like we saw with the FPS boom thanks to the birth of Battle Royale.
Given how durability is the most relevant part of most weapons this could be quite good, although it would need a very specific weapon-based deck to go into.
Might be pretty decent actually. I don't think we've ever had a 2/3 Rush baseline minion and the Finale could be relevant if you throw it into handbuff decks that wanna buff early and stabilize in the midgame.
Pretty fun reference and artwork for a very generic card. Probably good in Arena if you draw it on turn 3 speficially but I see no other use for it. They could have made it 3 damage honestly.
As someone who occasionally runs Jandice Barov in Wild, the pool of actually useful 5-drops feels rather small so this is actually just a worse Cairne in most situations.
In the process of thinking about a music-focused expansion, I've come up with a Treasure Hunt featuring a song from one of my favorite musicals.
Part of the song:
Do not put your faith
In a cape and a hood
They will not protect you
The way that they should
And take extra care with strangers
Even flowers have their dangers
And though scary is exciting
Nice is different than good.
Now I know, don't be scared
Granny is right, just be prepared
Isn't it nice to know a lot?
And a little bit not.
The character who sings this song (well known from fairy tales) is not a collectible Hearthstone card. But her adversary (the dangerous stranger) is a Wild card that used to see plenty of play, but has been powercrept over time.
Unpopular Has-Been is basically Cairne Bloodhoof but random, I don't think anybody wants that right now, currently just a good evolve target and is an undead. I think this is just signaling that Cairne Bloodhoof is leaving the core set this year.
Cover Artist is Prince Taldaram but trading the deck restriction for increased cost, unless Carnivorous Cube is in the core set or something similarily powerful to copy shows up probably doesn't see play
Cowbell Soloist is a slightly above average 3 drop with a requirement. Maybe there's a deck that want's it post rotation but given Lone Champion's success (or lack thereof) in core I don't have high hopes for this
Audio Medic is a neat 2 drop, I think it'd might make the cut if handbuff takes off in standard given Chillblade Champion's success in the archetype. It costs 2 less and loses charge for an identical statline, still might not make it though.
Air Guitarist is a neat card for decks that like weapons which I think they're pushing this expansion. There haven't been a lot of cards that buff only weapon durability before (Literally just nerfed Corsair Cache) but I think it's a worthwhile effect.
Cover Artist just powercrept Prince Taldaram right now. Yeah, for 4 mana but no deck building restrictions and also you can run 2 copies of it. Combo decks like it

Emphasis added. I mentioned that it was Warrior-only. I quoted that dev thread upthread as well. You have to completely edit the victim's deck with cards not from the deck before Steamcleaner can do its grisly work, so, as I mentioned, only Warrior can currently do this in Standard reliably because (as implied) only Warrior gets The Fires.
Outside of Standard, people already mentioned the utterly-doable Myra's Unstable Element for Rogue and Warrior gets another option with Explore Un'Goro (as if that were needed).

Obvious powercreep aside, this could be a huge combo enabler. Deathrattle decks would love it.

Unpopular for a reason.
