Its always bizarre seeing it spread out like this because of how many people actually use the site since I pretty much only see the same 12ish commentators on everything. Well GG to the winners, I hope my pity timer builds up and deposits at the (seemingly) Darkmoon faire expac.
I know you're talking about a child or pet, but I'm imagining a tiny version of Illidan running around your house screaming "Vengeance!" in a high-pitched voice.
Congratulations to all our winners, and thanks to everyone for helping us get voting data so we can release our compendium. If I don't hear from our winners within 24 hours, we'll redraw the names.
The profile headers won't arrive until we patch the site with an update, so for everyone that unlocked one of those, you'll get them soon!
I do hope Kanrethad Ebonlocke can be useful in Evenlock or Zoolock, with properly tuned Demon lists.
Maiev Shadowsong is going to be great in any deck, especially against Cubelock.
There are many more interesting cards for Wild purposes but I am either not interested in the respective decks or I think they can't really contribute to the meta.
Has anyone started a Fireside Gathering to open their packs yet? I tried it but I couldn't open the packs. I read that all gatherings are private now but you can still get Nemsy. I can't establish my tavern yet so i'm guessing I have to wait until after it's over to do that and then I should get Nemsy? I stupidly made it last 8 hours lol. Oh well.
I have a few Hunter decks Theorycrafted. Being a Hunter main, I'm super excited with the new cards Hunter got this expansion! I'm going to try Quest, Highlander and Beast.
Other classes, so far I have theorycrafted a Pure Paladin build, and a new Highlander Rogue which is a clusterfuck of so many packages.
Shaman is typically my 2nd favorite class, but I can't even get myself to complete a single theorycraft for the class right now. Shaman just feels like it is missing too much to have anything viable. I'm predicting Shaman to be trash tier again.
Both avenues for rogue have a couple of gems in wild that didn't have the tools to work with before.
For secrets, Cheat Death is going to be a nightmare alongside Shadowjeweler Hanar, and simply having more secrets to work with makes the all available secret synergies more reliable.
For stealth, the MSoG stealth package provides a few more options. I'm particularly interested to see how a jade-deathrattle-stealth deck will pan out, especially as they are reliable targets for some of my all-time favourite cards: Unearthed Raptor, Shadowcaster and Sonya Shadowdancer. It's probably not super competitive but there's now enough to piece it together.
After playing almost nothing but expeditions over the last 2 weeks, I've come to the conclusion on two things.
1) Elusive is broken when able to be spammed. Nothing new to the forums, it's a counter intuitive mechanic that forces people to either draft elusives in their trials, or to draft more removal spells than normal. It doesn't help that removal spells also double as champion removal, and what you get is people building decks with (not joking) 6x Mystic shots (and no, ezreal didnt generate them either, yes that person drafted 6 mystic shots)
2) Shrooms are FAR too easy to stack. I've seen people spam shrooms in non-teemo decks and win purely through attrition. Throw in the fact that if you manage to hit with an upgraded teemo JUST ONE, you're pretty much guaranteed to lose to that Teemo deck.
There's just no coming back from a deck of 22 cards, that have 50 shrooms. It's just WAY too easy to stack shrooms in decks. The number of shrooms on the cards needs to be reduced.
The Mushroom Burst card that inserts 5 shrooms ---> Changed to 4 Shrooms.
The Mushroom Peddler card that inserts 3 shrooms when you cast a spell needs to either have his stats nerfed or his effect nerfed. A 3/3 with a spell effect like that is far too strong, especially in decks that can stack shrooms or have a goal to stack shrooms. He either needs to be a 2/2 (or possibly 2/3) or the effect needs to be Insert 1 shroom instead of 3 (and he can keep his 3/3 stats, but even then I think that's still broken)
The Chump Wump card that gives you two mushroom bursts in hand. A 4 cost 4/3 that gives you two mushroom bursts, that synergize with the aforementioned peddler. Granted a 4/3 for 3 is sub-par starts so I think his stats are fine, but he should only create ONE single mushroom burst, not two in hand.
In short, in expeditions where you can't guarantee removal, lifesteal, challenger, or elusive cards, it's just far too easy for shroom decks to be abused. I literally am getting PTSD from teemo all over again (back when I played League) just thinking about the shroom spam and how annoying it is. Just like in league, it's not a great tactic usually (i.e.. constructed) but it's such an annoying strategy that it boils down to player reactions.
Someone plays the correct burst spells and destroys a minion, or survives my minion's damage. That's skill, and play/counterplay options like that in Runeterra is fantastic. Definitely a better interactive play style than Hearthstone. But affecting players cards has been always will be a "feels bad man" moment. Inserting shrooms that you can't do ANYTHING about, even if they are delayed is a horrible balance decision. It's most likely balanced in constructed, cause I don't see a ton of teemo/shroom spammers there. But in expeditions It's decidedly an unfair situation...which brings me back to my title.
Either teemo/shrooms need to get reworked, or special balancing needs to occur for expeditions given that Legends of Runeterra is more finely tuned to snowballing out of control than other current card games. /end rant.
I find it funny that Paladin got 3 Murloc cards, yet Shaman got 0 this expansion... even though Blizzard specifically listed Murlocs as one of Shaman's strengths.
Also, as excited as I am to try the Libram mechanic, "cost reduction" was listed as the "limitation" to Paladin. Having an entire mechanic for one class built around cost reduction doesn't sound like a limitation to me...
Did they already forget the class identities they put in place just last year?
I'm gonna fight an uphill battle and try to make Inspire viable with Demon Hunter, maybe with a little help from Baku. And, of course, there's alsways Discolock, which might just work with Hand of Gul'dan.
Both Mage legendaries are really solid - Astromancer Solarian, Evocation. Reno mage is as we know Tier 1 now, and they both seem to be good addition to it.
Priest's Soul Mirror - interesting card but I can't tell if it's great or bad.
maybe i wiill have one or two hours of non-streamers decks. If so, i will try this one:
Running Magtheridon with Pit Commander and/or Fel Summoner is pretty risky: if you pull him from somewhere and place him on the battlefield without playing the card, he will remain dormant forever (because you didn't trigger the Battlecry).

Balancing for expeditions - Yes this is going to be a Teemo/Shroom Rant
Figured I'd be honest in the title.

Our Thoughts on Hearthstone's Ashes of Outland Paladin Cards
Paladin got the worst cards.
How do you like new cards?
What do you think about new cards, what will be good in Wild?
Kael'thas Sunstrider is already being played and if not great, it is definitely a fun card (for the player that is using it).
Druid is getting interesting cards, for example Overgrowth and Imprisoned Satyr. I bet we will see a Dane video with Ysiel Windsinger.
Both Mage legendaries are really solid - Astromancer Solarian, Evocation. Reno mage is as we know Tier 1 now, and they both seem to be good addition to it.
Priest's Soul Mirror - interesting card but I can't tell if it's great or bad.
Akama for rogue - too slow or is it?
That's my two cents. + I hope we will see Demon Hunter being played.
What decks are you planning to play when the expansion launches?
Oddly Inspired Demon Hunter and Disquestlock (yes, that's a word) with the only discards being Expired Merchant, Silverware Golem, Fist of Jaraxxus, Hand of Gul'dan and Deathwing. Might call it Brunchlock.
What decks are you planning to play when the expansion launches?
owwwww thanks! didn't knew that :

What decks are you planning to play when the expansion launches?
Will experiment with demon hunter decks. Then probably spell mage (with no minion or just a few minion).
Our Thoughts on Hearthstone's Ashes of Outland Druid Cards
I'm looking forward to the potential of Token Druid with all these new creature generating cards and ways to negotiate around it.
