  • Mercenaries Final 25.4 Content Patch Brings Six New Mercs, Dual-Types, Factions, & Mythic Boss Rush

Atleast the boss rush should keep me entertained for a bit with random bosses and random modifiers. Personally I wished it would also include less agency in which mercs you have in your team. Maybe like only starting with 3 mercs and you discover a new merc for your team after every boss. I always had the most fun when not playing with optimal comps. Oh well, I guess it's too late now.

  • Hearthstone Mercenaries Support Ending, No More Regular Content Updates After 25.4

Disappointing that they couldn't find a way to resuscitate the game mode, but perhaps it was flawed from the start and beyond saving. I burnt out on Mercenaries pretty fast...which is a little awkward considering I reviewed it for this website and ended with saying this:

Everything in the final two sections could come with a qualifier "yeah, but it's still fun." Because Mercenaries is fun, and with some changes and general fixes we believe a good quality product can arise. All-in-all, we'll continue to play, long into the night, leveling up Mercs and bashing our heads together. And in the end, what more can you ask?

Maybe my expectations were too high but I was hoping for something more substantive, a new game mode that could actually keep truckin' like Battlegrounds, but single-player. Slay the Spire has its fans, and this could have been something like that but for Warcraft (which would've been awesome). Alas it was not to be; instead, Mercenaries will be relegated to a phase and nothing more...except the occasional heavy pause when anyone asks "how much did you spend on it?"

That's not what I wanted to see when they announced early during this HS year that Mercs will get the spotlight it deserves.

Such a tragic end for a mode that has been in development (hell) since 2020. I guess at the end the mode wanted to be too much. It tried to be a rpg, a rogue-like, a pve, a pvp, a collectible and a live service game and at the end didn't do anything of that too well. This update feels like they tried to fix the issues they found, but gave up on it in the end and are now releasing the stuff that's already done. Kinda like what Artifact did.

Well, I guess you have to think positively. Atleast now you can actually finish the mode once and for all. And hey, atleast I still have a chill place to grind something. Especially with the boss rush.

    I will miss it :(

This game mode was fun for me for like 5-6 weeks. Then I completely lost interest in it. I only come back to it to complete some quests quickly.

I hope they put this mode in the "other game mode" section and get another mode back on the "front menue" like Tavern Brawl, Arena or the single player mode.

That Enrage Warrior decklist looks outdated. Surely you run the draw 2-spell, even in an aggressive build.

Of course it does. How embarrassing.

(I've never actually played the Jailor)

  • New Card - Ghost

    Really neat effect.

I also like that it's just straight-up the MCU version rather than anything from the comics. Which is honestly great, because MCU Ghost is considerably more interesting.

I've given up on Pure Paladin; I just can't make it work for me. I have better results with Control Paladin.

@anchorm4n - Immune removes Taunt, so it wouldn't be broken.

  • A Hero's Tale - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

My first two attempts, of which I'm probably happiest with the second. The first one is a little more straightforward, but boring, and it kinda directly power-creeps Deep Freeze, which is already pretty good. Ever since they started printing "for each that can't" on these big top-enders like Lord Marrowgar and Kel'Thuzad, the Inevitable, I've wanted to see an upgraded version of Dragoncaller Alanna that scales better.

EDIT: Changed the first attempt's art, and stats.

EDIT 2: 3rd attempt at Jaina, thanks everyone for the feedback. I like this version a lot more anyways.

Something like this, maybe? I would like the "teleport" to be more reliable than just random shuffling heh

I really like the general direction but I'm not sure if you're quite there yet. Destroying your own stuff isn't very mage-y, so maybe you could build upon your teleportation idea? "Shuffle all other friendly minions into your deck. Summon a 3/6 Water Elemental for each of them." might do the trick. I do also harbour some worries about the power level of the card at 4 Mana though, even if I agree that it would be very cool to keep the stat line.

I don't think people will look kindly on adding Heros to another class than their own this week, so I'd recommend not using Jaina even if her effect is quite interesting and fits the Frost rune DK very well. Thrall on the other hand is a simple, flavorful and strong design. Thumps up from me! Maaaaaybe buff it to 5 Mana so the value of the card really jumps into your face?

    Wailor
Nice one, you win this time. Both cards look solid, but I think Jaina is a little more powerful and more interesting. What I don't like about the card is the formating of the text box… I'd try to the squeeze the Battlecry into one line somheow.

    BasilAnguis
Defintely my favorite card so far, perfect flavor and power level. Creative, iconic, strong but not OP, I love it. Are you sure there shouldn't be a comma at the end of the first line on Neptulon's and Rag's card as well?

    Neoguli
Anduin looks way more interesting to me, but you'll have to explain why he's a dual class card for WoW noobs like me. He might also proof to be too strong in a Taunt heavy deck, so you could consider raising his Cost or changing the effect to the adjacent minions being Elusive I guess.

    New ideas for the contest.

  • A Hero's Tale - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

Wanna use those sweet 4 token slots baby. Idea behind this card is to have a thematic minion that can be played in multiple decks. Each blessing is a major archetype that Shaman had over the years. Battlecries with a control/Tempo focus, Murlocs and Murloc generation, Totems and randomness inherent in them, and the elusive Spell Shaman that never quite took off. Neptulon is already associated with Murlocs in game, Therazane has multiple stone elementals summoning smaller taunt elementals and battlecry synergy(Earth Invocation, Stone Sentinel, Invocation of Earth, Rumbling Elemental), Al'akir is associated with djins and spells (Djinni of Zephyrs, [Hearthstone Card (Zephyrs the Great) Not Found] but i admit this is the weakest connection) and Ragnaros shares the iconic rng factor of totems (at the end of your turn do X).

The murloc blessing is probably more OP than others. The condition on Thrall is to not bounce him a few times and gain all effects. Idea is to dedicate your deck to an element.

What a super cool theme! I'm looking forward to your ideas :)) Here's my first take. It feels hard to balance and I fear it might end up being quite polarizing so I'll probably draft another if you don't like it.

It is possible to say that the daily challenges of waffle game game take this game to the next level, which attracts a lot of players from all over the world.

  • MARVEL SNAP's New Season is Into the Quantum Realm - New Cards, Locations, & More!

Card acquisition in this game is so weird. New season, new cards but who cares? The new cards from the previous season is still not available to majority of the playerbase (excluding season pass cards). I ended at rank 71 last season and I only faced Shuri 5-10 times and she is one of the best cards in the game and thus is a card people are trying to acquire.

Ahem, here are my actual cards.

Both are related to mechanics from the Classic set that are related to the abilities these characters had in Warcraft 3.

Beastmaster Rexxar can summon a lot of Companions for not too much mana (he also encourages to use Huffer against minions, as you cannot have duplicates).

Admiral Jaina (the third Jaina lol) is the ultimate Freeze card, as the initial Blizzard will make it more difficult to remove both her and the Elementals, which will be able to Freeze more stuff if they survive. Her name is a reference to her dad, Admiral Proudmoore.

As cool as it would be to win 3 in a row, I kinda have my doubts about that. There's bound to be some bangers of cards.

Doomhammer is one of the most iconic weapons of the Warcraft universe, and yet it's been sitting away at the sidelines for a very long time. Let's face it, 5 mana and 2 Overload is a lot to pay for a 2-Attack weapon even if it has Windfury and 8 Durability. Let's change that by giving us a new way to bring it to the field. Warchief Thrall will equip you a Doomhammer (and bypass the 2 Overload since it wasn't played directly). The Highlander restriction isn't anything flavorful, it's literally just because I couldn't think of a better one to use.

Icelich Jaina is just Jaina imagined as a Death Knight. Frost Lich Jaina has always been one of the more iconic hero cards of the game and there's also a lot of fan art of Jaina being something over than a Mage. There really isn't a reason that it can't be a Mage card. I just wanted to demonstrate how you could mix the classes and characters if you wanted to (and it happens to be the only way to submit a Death Knight card since Arthas is banned for the comp).
