That card completely dominated the meta and would do so even without Necrium Blade
Mmm I dunno, not being able to trigger it right away makes it more prone to being silenced or stolen, making it kind of a dead card (other than the card draw). I still don't think it's going to get unnerfed, but I don't think it would be as meta-defining as it was without Rogue's deathrattle triggers
FortyDust, I'm interesting what you think of the version I proposed after BlueSpark's comment. Specifically, "Deal 4 damage to an enemy unit. All excess damage targets the enemy Nexus."
I think this is fairly concise, uses the same notion of excess damage that exists for Overwhelm (i.e. it goes through whether or not a blocker remains alive/in play/in combat prior to damage), and specifically mentions the Nexus as a target for damage to help the player understand that the unit is not the unique target of the spell.
That last part is a little tricky because you don't specifically tell the spell to target the nexus, and I think you're right that if you wanted to get very precise and clear, you'd end up very wordy (e.g. "Target a unit and the enemy Nexus, and deal 4 damage to the unit, with excess damage hitting the enemy Nexus.")
Currently you need to open 30 packs from the most recent expansion to get all of the perks of the battlegrounds beta. Thats not very hard to do being f2p at all. Maybe they will add more perks for higher amount of packs purchased.
isnt it 20 packs?
10 packs for stats, 20 for 3 heros and 30 for emotes. The last one dosnt seem necessary but its there
Emoting the smiley cow when you luck out a round is priceless. Change my mind.
All the emotes are childish and horrible overall, but that one triggers me for unknown reasons.
Yeah except it's an "on play" ability, so, there's that going against this point, also, it glows yellow if active in hand :/ Though yeah it probably wouldn't hurt to add one more 4-letter word
You can't exactly word everything perfectly for new players to be able to understand everything the first time. I understand a lot of these posts have fair points, but in this case, it's such a weird way to think about it that, at some point in time, you gotta let them learn by not playing correctly. I've had more than my fair share of "For Science!" moments :)
Also seeing a player play this inactive doesn't necessarily mean they don't understand it. I've had to tempo play it with a bad hand at times :T
EDIT: I will admit... I didn't refresh the page at all to check if anyone else had said the same thing as me before I posted, I thought I'd be the first, sorry
I agree that including the word "have" would make the interaction more obvious, but I think the use of the "play" keyword is what ultimately makes this wording clear/deterministic.
The effect occurs when you play Mageseeker Investigator from your hand, and unlike some games (e.g. MTG), playing a unit doesn't interact with the stack, so the only way to trigger this is by playing a spell prior to playing this unit.
To be fair, it's a Play effect, which triggers when and only when card is played. So, by its very nature, it looks at a snapshot when played and any subsequent effect does nothing. I presume adding the word would cause overlap issues with the card frame, though, because I agree it'd be both clearer and more legible with 'have' in there.
I firmly disagree with some of your predictions: The Caverns Below should be let there as it is right now and 4 mana Necrium Apothecary is totally crazy, even in Wild.
My takes are:
Year of the Dragon - Sludge Slurper or one card from the Shaman Galakrond's package
Dragon - Mogu Fleshshaper (with Mutate rotating out and the only other option being Explosive Evolution, I can't imagine this card being especially problematic anymore) I can't read, I thought Mutate was Witchwood, so I'll have to think about this more.
Even after its nerf, Faceless Corruptor is one of the more powerful cards in the meta: every deck that plays small minions runs it and when it's played it often has a big impact on the board. They would be crazy to unnerf it.
I think it's more likely that a Shaman card gets unnerfed, since that class is now relatively weak compared to the other classes. My guess would be Invocation of Frost, since that is the safest revert. For example unnerfing Sludge Slurper would buff battlecry decks, murloc decks and overload decks, so there is much more potential for it to lead to an overpowered deck.

well, I see the fact that they discussed it and the now confirmed planned reverts as somewhat telling.
Is Final Spark / Karma interactions intended?

I don't think that necessarily sets in stone that he will be unnerfed though. Just that they discussed it. Does have some good groundwork though.
10 Hearthstone Cards are Having Their Nerfs Reverted Including a Year of the Dragon Card
My Predictions:
Wild - I dunno, there are so many cards in wild that have been nerfed and I don't really play wild enough to make a decent guess
Raven - Dr. Boom, Mad Genius, Raiding Party, Extra Arms, Giggling Inventor (I believe all of these cards have enough better alternatives in Wild to not be problematic)
Dragon - Mogu Fleshshaper (with Mutate rotating out and the only other option being Explosive Evolution, I can't imagine this card being especially problematic anymore) I can't read, I thought Mutate was Witchwood, so I'll have to think about this more.

They're NOT unnerfing caverns below. If they have any parts of the brain left they will delete it from the game entirely.

Corrupt elementist should be ok to unnerf. Giving shaman a little bit of his mojo back would be awesome
