Dean Ayala has announced that we're going to see 10 cards have their previous nerfs reverted!
- 5 of these cards are currently in the Wild format.
- 4 of these cards are from the Year of the Raven and are rotating to wild.
- 1 card is currently in the Year of the Dragon sets.
- The exact numbers may still change.
We don't have details on what cards are being reverted yet, though we'd love to know what you think. Which cards do you think are getting unnerfed?
Quote From Dean Ayala Planning on reverting a handful of card nerfs just before the upcoming set rotation. We’ll share details on exactly what those cards are in the next couple weeks but they currently include 5 Wild cards, 4 Year of the Raven cards (rotating to Wild), and 1 Year of the Dragon card.
Sharing thoughts always comes with the risk that things can change, so if those numbers don’t end up being final it was in the name of iteration! I wonder if anyone will guess exactly the right 10 cards. When the time comes we’ll announce them on official Hearthstone channels.

I don't think that necessarily sets in stone that he will be unnerfed though. Just that they discussed it. Does have some good groundwork though.
well, I see the fact that they discussed it and the now confirmed planned reverts as somewhat telling.
I swear if they un-nerf sea witch I will wear a tutu to work for all to see.
God please no... to the sea witch
Yes please to the tutu!! ;)
For the year of the raven I think thewill unnerf: Reckless Experimenter, Extra Arms, Raiding Party and Dr. Boom, Mad Genius
Wild: Undertaker, Leeching Poison, The Caverns Below, Bonemare, Call of the Wild
Dragon: Necrium Apothecary
With all echoes costing at least one mana now, the nerf to Reckless Experimenter has become mostly obsolete, so it would indeed make sense to revert that one.
Once upon a time nerfed cards often became unplayable, but most of the recent nerfed cards are either still being played or at least are borderline playable. For example Raiding Party, Bonemare and the Dr. Boom hero card are still usable at their increased cost; unnerfing them may not break the meta, but there is also no real need for it. However, Call of the Wild saw very little play after being nerfed, so unnerfing that could be good.
Unnerfing Leeching Poison (or actually Kingsbane, indirectly), the quest or Apothecary would bring back archetypes that were not fun to play against. I hope they have enough sense to not do that. Similarly, Undertaker in its original form (+1/+1) could lead to games snowballing out of control from turn 1; I don't think unnerfing it would be good for the meta.
Extra Arms might be safe to revert to its buffed state if they're finally going to nerf Divine Spirit. But I think it might just be too strong in other decks as well. Also, I think it's more likely they decide to put Divine Spirit in the Hall of Fame instead of nerfing it, which wouldn't help Wild.
Yeah that last one, how about no
I firmly disagree with some of your predictions: The Caverns Below should be let there as it is right now and 4 mana Necrium Apothecary is totally crazy, even in Wild.
My takes are:
Year of the Dragon - Sludge Slurper or one card from the Shaman Galakrond's package
Year of the Raven - Raiding Party, Dr. Boom, Mad Genius, Extra Arms and Giggling Inventor
Wild exclusives - Spiteful Summoner, Raza the Chained, Saronite Chain Gang, Call of the Wild and Undertaker
Giggling Inventor was too op at 5 and I think you are underestimating the old Saronite Chain Gang plus Raza would be the new quest mage
Seriously?
They're NOT unnerfing caverns below. If they have any parts of the brain left they will delete it from the game entirely.
when was the last time you have even seen one? when was the last time that deck even won a game?
More reasons to leave it as it is.
It would litterally be unplayable due to all those aggro decks and secret mages
0 chance of unnerfing Apothecary. That card completely dominated the meta and would do so even without Necrium Blade
Mmm I dunno, not being able to trigger it right away makes it more prone to being silenced or stolen, making it kind of a dead card (other than the card draw). I still don't think it's going to get unnerfed, but I don't think it would be as meta-defining as it was without Rogue's deathrattle triggers
For the health of wild, Apothecary needs to stay nerfed. That card instantly started taking over wild, and that's before a completely refined deck emerged. At 4 mana, eventually someone would refine a deck that would just completely dominate, and Blizz would end up nerfing it again.
#UnnerfRaza waiting room for some more Machine Gun Priest
I can actually see them do that, with the focus on highlander in standard this year
I have some pieces of the deck, but the fully fledged list would still cost me around 10k (maybe I'm exaggerating, but I see myself missing so much stuff).
However, if Raza the Chained will be reverted and if Reno Priest will be strong, I think I'll face that cost and craft all I'm missing.
After all, and this is true folks, 2017's Highlander Priest was the deck that made me start playing the game regularly.
Unfortunately, back in the day I wasn't able to craft the whole list, but this time I have the means and I could actually do it. Pew pew.
