  • Aggro a bit too efficient

You should expect aggro to be the dominant strategy for the first month or two for any CCG.  First off: aggro is always the most budget friendly offering to a new player at any stage of the game's life: the cards tend to be more common and the deckbuilding is very direct.  Second, not many people have the cards to pull off combo or control yet, and even if they did, those decks usually need some refinement and customization for the current meta.  Finally: there's a positive feedback loop right now where aggro finishes games quicker -> gets more XP -> gets better cards -> gets even more wins per hour.

Give it some time; I think things will settle down once the community discovers some good tempo and control archetypes.

Getting an Expedition entry instead of a Legendary is really good when you're just trying to grow your collection, since the Legendary will cost you less than 3000 shards guaranteed. Ofc if you want a specific one, crafting it is probably going to be the best (not counting wild cards)

You're assuming you get at least 5 wins; for 3 or less, you only get the random champion and a small refund on your shards.  Specifically, its either 4000 3000 shards to craft a specific champion or 3000 shards for a run with the following payouts:

    • 0 Win:   Champion Card and 100 XP
    • 1 Wins: Champion Card, 150 Shards, 300 XP
    • 2 Wins: Champion Card, 350 Shards, 500 XP
    • 3 Wins: Champion Card, 600 Shards, 700 XP
    • 4 Wins: Champion Card, Bronze Chest, 600 Shards, 900 XP = at least 1 random Champion, 2 Common
    • 5 Wins: Champion Card, Silver Chest, 600 Shards, 1200 XP = at least 1 random Champion, 1 Rare, 2 Common
    • 6 Wins: Champion Card, Golden Chest, 1000 Shards, 1500 XP = at least 1 random Champion, 1 Rare, 4 Common
    • 7 Wins: Champion Capsule, 3500 Shards, 2000 XP = at least 1 random Champion, 1 Epic, 3 Rare

While I'm exited for all these new regions, I'm still confused as to why a combo region exist in the first place.  Aren't Piltover and Zaun usually fighting against each other?  Every other region has an aesthetic theme that ties them together, but with P&Z, not so much.  You've got futuristic technology, robots made out of garbage, brilliant scientists, children living in poverty, random explosions, and Teemo...for some reason.  I wouldn't be surprised if the region we have now is a placeholder, because these things don't belong together.  I feel like they could split this region apart since there are so many Piltover and Zaun champions already.

As for Ixtal and The Void forming one region, this could be possible since the champion selection is so low.  However, it would still be another mismatch from an aesthetic point of view.  You have one side all tuned in to nature and the other that's just a bunch of horrific monsters out of your nightmares.  Not to mention, it would be strange to see Rengar and Kha'zix fighting along side one another.  If there's any region Ixtal would form a combo with, I think it would be Shurima.  I feel as though The Void is TOO unique to be combined with any other region.

I won my first 4 games playing Parachute Brigand.

  • Aggro a bit too efficient

I think the reason aggro is so good is because, basically, everything has haste and vigilance.

  • Legends of Runeterra - New Region Datamined!

    alright, now I'm just confused

especially about Ixtal...because that region currently has a single champion and we know next to nothing about what it'S actually about (aside from harboring the regional mobile-knockoff lookalike)

  • Legends of Runeterra - New Region Datamined!

Multiple expansion sets will release this year and it could be one of the new regions added.

  • Legends of Runeterra - New Region Datamined!

No. They just have the images already in the client. It makes sense for testing purposes. We should still only see one new region with each expansion.

  • Legends of Runeterra - New Region Datamined!

Oh, I wonder if this will be an expansion or core-game added within beta

  • All-Star Squad

    Thx.

Little bit of advice: play Magic Trick and mulligan for Stargazer Luna

  • Legends of Runeterra - New Region Datamined!

Are they going to be adding 5 regions in one exp? That doesn't seem right

  • All-Star Squad

    Holy hell - this.

5 pogos in a row: all dead with no problems at all.

  • Ferocious Howl

Not a flashy card but incredibly solid. 3 mana draw 1 gain 7/8 most of the times.
No wonder it is a staple even in Wild.

  • Steel Beetle

Really looking forward to this card: it may be the help Quest Druid needs against Aggro after Ferocious Howl rotates.
Moreover, it perfectly fits in the "big spell" concept Malfurion has been pushed to in the last sets.

  • Aggro a bit too efficient

Shadow Isles is definitely over the top.

Basically drafted a Constructed version of Sacrifice deck for an Expedition and steamrolled to 7 wins.

Butcher needs to be at 1-mana. It's a card that would be absolutely bonkers in Hearthstone and it's not different here....welll either that or nerfing the Cursed Keeper spawn.

It also doesn't help that Shadow Isles have access to very effective removal options. Generally the entire region is just a bit too versatile. I like the idea that there's different ways to build, but right now it's a bit too much.

Commander Ledros alone is kind of ridiculous, basically a guaranteed win condition for both Control and aggro.

Then you also have the whole Elusive crap that feels really bad to play against if you don't have direct damage spells (that don't immmediately get countered by Deny or Twin Disciplines).

Overall I feel like the situation will improve when people get more cards and are able to refine their decks, as well as with new expansions that give new tools.

EDIT: Frost Nova and Doomsayer hunter works too

  • Best Cards In Legends Of Runeterra?

    Quote From Apfelkomplott

I think Shark Chariot is kinda the same as The Undying. You invest mana into reoccuring attack power with no defensive capabilities. So the answer is either 1) Kill it before it kills you or 2) Purify it.

I think the strongest cards are never combo cards because they are inconsistent. Yes, Butcher + Keeper combo is strong as hell, but needs 2 distinct cards in your opening hand to work.

For single cards, I'd say Elise is the strongest by far. 2 mana 2/3 fearsome summon a 1/1. Still a good deal even if she dies to the first trade. And the potential to snowball with level up. 10/10

I think guys talked about this on Discord today, if you Purify Shark Chariot, it comes back anyway, since the card is restored to default status in graveyard > has its text back.

  • Aggro a bit too efficient

I personally think 20 hp is too low when your unit HP stat follows Hearthstone rules, even if your unit blocking follows Magic rules.

Personally I think the only reason Magic gets away with 20 hp is the fact that pretty much every creature effectively has Regenerate.  And healing is incredibly common on top of that, and you can overheal.  Where as in Runeterra that is not the case.

But that's just my opinion :/

you don't go to the store silly, you go to your collection, select "show unowned" and then you can craft any card you like

Legendaries cost 3000 for example (although that amount of shards is better spent on expeditions tbh)

This.  Or even if you own the card but want additional copies.  Just right click on the card you want to craft.  While you're there: click on the eye at the bottom right: you'll see the card's full artwork, which is usually really cool but so big that the card face only has room from a small cropped version.  (My personal fav is Shark Chariot: did you know there's actually 3 sharks, and they're pulling Hecarim along?)

I would also argue that buying a specific Legendary could be better than buying an Expedition run and getting a random Legendary.  All depends on your situation: how good you are at Expeditions, what constructed decks you want to play, what's in your existing collection, etc.

Getting an Expedition entry instead of a Legendary is really good when you're just trying to grow your collection, since the Legendary will cost you less than 3000 shards guaranteed. Ofc if you want a specific one, crafting it is probably going to be the best (not counting wild cards)

  • Aggro a bit too efficient

Seems as though aggro is going to dominate this game for the time being. Most aggro decks are able to fill the board by turn 3 or 4 and removal is few and typically at a higher mana cost. If you want that removal when you need it you have to skip a turn or 2 to build up your spell mana and by then you have probably taken too much damage. Not wanting to ruin aggro entirely I think some mana costs changes are needed. For instance Shadow isles can put out 7/6 worth of power turn 2 with cursed keeper and ravenous butcher. There are a few more but shadow seems a bit over powered at the moment.

  • I need answers! Why wasn't this game a tie?!!

I mean the fact that you die first from a resolved spell before your opponent dies from your board makes sense mechanically, but thinking about it, it is a shitty mechanic in its core.

I guess this is more about the back and forth action trading, but yet another example of a loss you can sustian from a commanding lead on the board. I dont know if i like this.

  • The Statistically Worst Hero Choices in Hearthstone Battlegrounds

I like Milhouse, for sure think something is missing, I think they should keep the cheap upgrade and minion cost but maybe set the reset cost back to 1 and instead, he either earns less or nothing at all for selling minions.

    What are your thoughts?
