  • KingsBane is dead.... What works in Wild?

old builds? what are u talking about? rez priest? kingsbane? thats so old news. the only decks that have survived through the ages in wild but with different variations due to exps is reno decks and pirate warrior. the big priest u mention is bad today and honestly im facing more of them then i would expect. its so weird how ppl still cling on such a toxic deck despite its power level being seriously lower now

Agreed Shu'ma is ridiculous in quest hunter. I love dropping that bad boy on 7. Which is funny, because I was so disappointed when I unpacked that card, yet now I'm so happy when I draw it!

  • Viable Poro deck?

    Quote From DoubleSummon
Yeah it's mostly a draft, didn't put too much thought into what exactly to put so I gone with "good cards"

demacia has really good spells like En Garde which is really good vs elusive, and Detain which I didn't include because I forgot to.

I have other decks, just really want to try and make a viable poro deck, and not a deck that happens to include poros which are the weaker part of the deck, but the focus of the deck being poros, tryndamere is kind of a filler card since there isn't too much card draw in the deck so you have to run high costed cards.. (by how the poro support cards are spread it's a midrange deck), don't have noxus cards almost at all.

Why war chefs are bad? this deck has a lot of 1/1s that should be able to trade..

I will try the spider approach (double tribal deck then..) wanted to try she they who endure with spiders anyway..

Demacia is there for the dawnspeakers as well cause it's a token deck.

What do you mean draft? Like you got the idea from Expedition or something?

And poro cards are weak, you dont want to make them the absolute center of your deck. You are using them for card draw(Poro Herder), Heart of the Fluft, and They Who Endure(Also Croc, Crowd Favorite, or Dawnspeakers I guess) as your win condition. By themselves, Poros lose to elusive, lose to quick attack, lose to Noxus aggro, lose to Elise/fearsome combos, etc. Using War Chefs to make a 1-1 poro a 2-2 poro is just bad compared to any other turn 1 and 2 midrange/aggro deck. En Garde is absolutely terrible in the deck, if you want to get rid of elusives use avalanche. If you do decide to run Demcacia, get Sergeants, get Dawnspeakers, and maybe Dawn Redeemers. If you want to run Frostbite cards, you need to run cards that synergize with them, not just randomly throw them in there, they don't help Poros at all.

I would suggest running 3 poro herders and 2 or 3 They who Endure btw.

  • What is the Shen emote supposed to convey?

    Quote From FortyDust
    Quote From Marega

i guess we found the braum emoter when things go his way. thoroughly explains why emote isnt bad and defends it with his life. yeah im not surprised if you are that kind of guy that doesnt use the emotes as a way to acknowledge your opponent but rather to upset him

Sorry to see you prefer ad hominem attacks over actual logic. You must get super-triggered by the Heimerdinger emote.

i dont actually. i like it a lot. most ppl so far only used it to express that im taking too long to make my play. which makes sense they emote that im thinking a lot so its cool even tho they are like:"cmon man make ur play im dying here"; while im like: "chill man, genius at work here no need to complain, ur aggro deck can wait"

  • Legends of Runeterra - Weekly Recap Jan. 31

We're missing some people to talk about Runeterra on the OOC Discord, so hop over! :D

I'm currently leveling with this deck. It's really fun and has some great combo potential in addition to good survivability to early aggro.

Enjoying the game a lot so far!

  • wtf? Commander Ledros?

actually no cause its an 8 drop. only works vs slower decks and another thing is that most ppl and rightfully so only use one card of him per deck which reduces the chances of drawing him. of course theres some tutor draw cards like the Bjerg from Freljord but yeah.

its a powerfull card but thats what an epic 8 drop unit should look like in a game. i know its used as a win con but thats just what a control deck looks like or a midrange that includes a card that can win vs slower decks. If it is drawn

  • Hearthstone's January Season is Ending Soon! Get Your Shoring Up Card Back

Not bad actually. It's definitely not a high tier deck, but pretty fun. Currently at rank 3, although I climbed mostly with Warlock Meca'thun and Pirate Warrior.

You can have a look at it here if you like the archetype: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KVLhGqfyJM

Okay I made up my mind. I'll shoot my shot and see how it goes.

In the end, if I won't get chosen it just means that there are better candidates than me and therefore this community will grow even more.

Thanks for both your answers :)

  • wtf? Commander Ledros?

not sure how to defend against this.  was ahead 18 to 7, and then the other player threw down commander ledros every turn taking me down to 4 hp.  :/

it seems rather broken considering it took me 5 turns just to get my offense working.

    broken?

witching hour isn't even played in Embiggen Lists because it's unnecessary.

Only Wall Druid cares about it and that deck sucks in comparison

  • The Popular and the Powerful - Iksar Gives an Update on the Hearthstone Standard Meta

I played without it, its not really necessary to have him. Surprised that there's no Shu'ma in that list.

  • Viable Poro deck?

I really think that Professor von Yipp might make a poro deck viable. You might consider him as an option. P&Z has good spells also. I will try it as soon as i collect 3x Professor von Yipps.

  • Viable Poro deck?

    Quote From opponent12

I think Demacia is the wrong side class, probably should focus around Shadow Isles for the  Croc or Noxus for Crowd Favorite. Tryndamere is probably not the champ you want either,  probably Thresh,Vladimir(I've never tried him cuz I dont have him), or Elise? Harsh winds has 0 synergy in your deck. Radiant strike is bad here, war chefs is bad here, They Who Endure is really bad in this iteration of the deck, although if you went spiders and poros you might have something. Most of the Demacian cards you have in your deck do not synergize with Poros at all. In conclusion, half these cards should probably be replaced with better ones, if you are set on using poros.

If you really like the demacian cards in your deck, just run elites. Vanguard Sergeant  is also a must if you have to use Demacia in this deck as well.

Also take this with a grain of salt because I'm not sure its gonna work, but you could try going mono class and using Avarosan Outsiders, with all the Elnuks and Yetis. You could even go barely Demacian to get Vanguard Redeemers and Vanguard Sergeants.

  • KingsBane is dead.... What works in Wild?

With all the changes that have come down the pipeline with these new expansions, I have encountered so many fluctuations in deck builds that many of the popular archetypes are becoming null.  Kingsbane being one of them.  I loved using this card in my Mill Rogue builds as the changes in the expansions came and went.  However, recently I have tried to update that deck and it feels that no matter what I try, there are so many different types of decks out there, that it doesn't work at all anymore.

Of all the decks that I play and have played against, it feels that the only constant in higher level play in Wild is Rez Priest.  I've found a few builds here and there of decks that I like and modified them to my play style, but ultimately I am wondering what everyone else has experienced with some of their favorite decks in Wild with the changing of the environment with the expansions are. Are you finding that your favorite builds and/or decks as a whole are no longer working?  What are you doing different?  Have you abandoned your old builds and gone with something new?

  • IMPENDING DOOM, Dragonz Edition!

OK, I know some of you have already seen this deck on this site (it's gotten a little bit of hype, including 5 upvotes and me running into someone in HS who recognized me by the deck I was running and friended me).

But until now, however much fun I was having with the deck, I didn't really consider it worthy of posting on the forums about, because its winrate was only in the 30s or 40s.

That's changed in the past few days. Maybe it's just because it's the end of the month and the tryhards have ranked up above me, but ... whatever the reason, I've played 55 games of the latest version of the deck, and it's gotten a winrate of 63.6%. That's newsworthy IMO.

HSReplay says that the typical winrate for Quest Shamans lately (without Galakrond) is 37.8%, so ... I must be doing something right and different to get the results I'm getting!

I'm excited to improve the deck even more on Tuesday when Sky Gen'ral Kragg comes out!

  • What's everyone think so far of the free-to-play system!?

I don't remember exactly what was in my first vault (lvl 13) but I think I got mainly commons and rares, a good amount of shards (about 1500-1800 I think), a few common and/or rare wild cards and some epics, as well as the guaranteed expedition token. Because I have no idea what the average vault rewards for the max level vault are I can't say how lucky my rewards were. I would have liked to get a champion of course, but commons and rares are also very good to get right now since my collection is still small.

  • The Popular and the Powerful - Iksar Gives an Update on the Hearthstone Standard Meta

Injured Tol'vir is a vanilla 2 drop with taunt when played (the 'taunt' is not to be underestimated) but an overstated 2 drop when drawn with Strength in Numbers. Embiggen decks are curve decks at heart, so its not always possible to skip turn 2 without problems, especially against aggro decks. That's where having a 2 drop with taunt comes in handy.

As for highlander hunter, from my own experience, Subject 9's win rate is high enough that its not easy to play the deck without that card and expect the same results. I play without that card myself, but there are many times where drawing the secrets directly seems really bad, especially since highlander hunter doesn't draw well. One way to mitigate that is to play less secrets, but it really comes down to what strat you are going for in deckbuilding.

Stormhammer is not replaceable in dragon hunter. In fact when you play dragon hunter and don't draw it the deck is basically a mid range deck with lots of dragons that cannot grab tempo back once you lose it. It also pressures the opponent's face (against rogue its almost impossible to win without this). Its just my opinion, but you just can't play dragon hunter without this card.

  • Piltover Spell Decks

    Quote From magvin

Deny needs it´s cost increased to atleast 4-5,  so Ionia decks won´t be allowed to counter anything for 3 spell mana. And Piltover cards like Assemly Bot needs buff ( for example, decrease it´s cost to 2 ) ,  Piltover has no viable 1-2 cost units except Eager Apprentice so your deck becomes viable at turn 5+, where you can start comboing with Heimerdinger etc. , but in this meta there is no way you survive that long.

I actually disagree with this. Imagine casting Warmother's Call and your opponent plays Deny, you would be incredibly frustrated. Now imagine you are in the middle of combat and you play Rush, then your opponent plays Deny, you are not nearly as frustrated. Why? It is because Rush is a lot cheaper than Warmother's Call, you didn't have to spend your entire turn commiting to this one spell. I don't think you would feel very different in either of those situations if your opponent had to spend an extra mana or two.

I think a better change to deny would be to make it only able to counter spells that cost 4 or less. Then it wouldn't be able to stop your huge power plays, but it would feel more like any other combat trick.
