  • Have a Wild Hearthstone Weekend with Fresh Decks!

So you're  telling me someone found a use for both Holomancer and Depth Charge?

    Nice!

  • The Elusive problem and solutions

The 4 million iq deck that uses heimderlinger is quite good vs elusive decks. Its on mobalitycs

  • What's the most broken deck EVER?

    Star aligner druid in wild.

  • The Elusive problem and solutions

Elusive per se is ok, as others already said it's a common mechanic in card games so nothing impossibile to balance (if needed). The strongest thing is that the best Elusive minions are from Ionia and there you also have Deny, that basically protects them against spell removal making very hard to deal with them for Regions that doesn't have good Elusive creatures themselves.

The whole probelm will probably fix itself once counterspell will be nerfed or reworked, but I don't think that Elusive as keyword need any tuning itself.

  • Rerolling event quests

So there is the 60g/60d, then there's 80g/80d, and finally the 100g/100d, is that it?

  • What's the most broken deck EVER?

What, in your opinion, is the most broken deck in the history of Hearthstone? 2 parts to the question..:

    1. Broken relative to the power level of the other decks at the time (i.e. had the best meta win rate ever)

    2. Broken overall (i.e. most powerful deck that has ever existed)

I wonder, if you threw all the pre-nerf broken decks together in a Tavern Brawl, which would be the best performing deck? How would Quest Rogue do against Grim Patron Warrior, Cubelock, Raza Priest, Freeze Mage? Was Jade Druid really as powerful as it seemed? Do any of them hold a candle to Gala Shaman? Do golden oldies like Deathrattle Hunter or Combo Druid even stand a chance?

  • In Just Two Days Blizzard Sells 150,000 Dragon Masters Bundles - Prize Pool Cap Obtained for the 2020 Masters Tour

Tbh, i've never understood the idea of a "cap" to add to the tournament prize winnings.

If i remember correctly, Dota 2 has a system, where a percentage from each purchase within a set time goes towards their large tournaments, which has traditionally resulted in enormous prize pools.

  • Hearthstone Gameplay is Going to be Faster! Minion Trigger Speeds Increasing by 300% in an Upcoming Patch

Best update ever. I'd even take this over a new expansion any day.

  • Rewards after 3 expeditions?

I've completed my three expeditions for this week but I was wondering what exactly the rewards are if you enter open play (free expeditions after you've completed the first three in a week). In the game it just says "limited rewards". Does this mean you only get regular xp like for normal games?

  • Which cards do you think are the most UNDERpowered?

    Quote From katiegervari

I haven't played with Ashe, but she has two really poor downsides - her 5/3 body doesn't seem to work well with her ability, and I don't understand why I have to use my next draw step to draw the Crystal Arrow when she levels up. You really need to have a lot go right in a game for this card to work. I've seen some pretty spectacular games with her, but I felt they were fairly selective.

You don't skip your draw, the arrow got "draw a card" attached to it.

besides it's a card that has an actual cost of 5 if it was a stand alone card.

Swim said Ashe decks are actually quite good specially vs elusives, dunno maybe you need 3 copies of ashe.

I agree on Kalista she went from being an auto include to being really bad after the nerf even if she levels up she is not that scary.. needs a rework.. or quick attack back..

I think Vladimir is ok, not tier 1 but braum + vlad is quite a potent deck if played right it's more trickstery/combo based build and I am sure you need 3 copies of both Vladimir and Braum to run that deck to it's fullest potential. (played it in the preview, did fine).

I think the poros have been underwhelming didn't manage to make them work yet, I am sure they are also bad cause of Will of Ionia making the  heart of fluff really sad.. so ye.. they kinda suck..

also Elites they seemed good at first but like Garen.. they are too straight forward and fair

Reroll. As far as I remember 60+60 is the lowest one you can get, so you lose nothing by rerolling.

  • Rerolling event quests

So what's the verdict on rerolling the Lunar New Year event quests? Do you keep the 60g/dust quests or do you reroll them?

  • The Elusive problem and solutions

I think some (but not all) of the elusive creatures need a bit of slight nerf.

I don't think there's any problem with Greenglade Duo for example. If your deck can't kill a x/2 or a x/3 after 1 or 2 buffs, then your deck deserves to lose.

Navori Conspirator seems a bit strong with a buff. Without this creature in the game, usually the best you can do on turn 2 is a 3/3 - a 4/3 is really above the curve and has few responses. Having 1/5th if your life taken off is pretty big. I'd say a 2/2 would be less punishing.

Shadow Assassin is too good. A 2/2 creature that flies and draws a card, in Magic the gathering, at common rarity would cost 4 or 5 mana. Why does it cost 3 for?

Kinkou Lifeblade looks balanced with a 2/3 statline, but even with 1 buff, this card is pretty nuts and puts itself out of challenger range, making it very difficult for non-elusive decks to deal with it.

I feel like Shadow Isles, Nox, and to a lesser extent, Freljord and Damacia since they have more challengers, could have some random "Reach" keywords thrown on to their units to balance out the Elusive mechanic. We don't need a lot of them either - just give each of these factions 1 or 2 "Reach" creatures. I find it difficult to believe that any of those 4 factions would refuse to develop defenses to an enemy threat that they have a major weaknesses against. I mean, if you wanted to destroy their civilization, you could just send a bunch of Elusive creatures at them and their civilization would be wiped out. It doesn't make sense.

For example, Legion Grenadier could say:

Last Breath: Deal 2 to the enemy nexus or an elusive follower

I think new cards need to get made that actually look like Ballistas or Archers or Magical stealth detectors to make reach cards make sense, as the existing card pool lacks reasonable options.

  • What's everyone think so far of the free-to-play system!?

The only downside is deck boredom and not enough diversity. I'm sure this will correct itself over time, but I can't really make that many decks, and because resources are so rare, I'm a bit scared to craft stuff until I know what the meta looks like. So, I'm just an evil person playing spiders for now.

I'd love to try an Ashe deck, but that 5/3 body and the card draw replacement effect (rather than drawing a brand new card) is really poor and I'm scared to craft her, for example. It's just not worth the risk.

Heimer looks cool, but also easily countered due his poor body and how expensive the card is. The deck also has to draw it. The deck is also fairly expensive on the crafts.

So, spiders it is. I'm just saving most of my wild cards and shards.

  • wtf? Commander Ledros?

You can Purify it, or use Mageseeker Investigator, to remove Last Breath condition.

While not as good as the creatures that silence in Hearthstone - they probably took a cue from the constants nerf to silence creatures due to cramping design space in that game - but the effect is still there in the game.

  • Hearthstone Gameplay is Going to be Faster! Minion Trigger Speeds Increasing by 300% in an Upcoming Patch

It seems to just be "trigger" animations though, so everything that is a icon on the bottom of a minion.

LOL! YGOPRO had it way shorter even before runeterra was conceived.

I didn't say that Runeterra introduced short animation times for triggers. It's just very obvious that HS has very slow trigger animation times (champions animations excluded) once you've played Runeterra.

I wonder if they will try another big change to Arena as they did at the start of last year. A year worth of data must be enough to decide on the next step, surely. Could also be enough for them to keep it the way it is if they like where it is at, i suppose. But if any bigger change was coming, the start of the next HS year would make most sense.

But runettera also have long animation times (Draven axes, champion level ups.. Etc)

I saw on reddit it's being addressed though (riot response ce)

agree, they have to do something with those champion animations. But I meant stuff like self damaging is just instant, where "Armani Berserker" needs FOREVER

  • Easier Way to Tell Which Followers Trigger Skills?

I'm not entirely sure but I think that if they have a corresponding skill-icon (for lack of a better word) when you right click them, it means that their effect works like a non-burst spell, and if not it will happen instantly.
