Wait...You're telling me it was possible before? Huh, TIL, I guess.
Everyday in HS reddit seems like someone's flexing their Alex into Alex into Alex into Alex high roll.
Good Nerf. Doesn't impact the spirit of the card and there are still insane high rolls outside of Alex into Alex (e.g. Veranus and Dragonmaw Scorcher).
"Dragonqueen pulls" out of Dragonqueen is just Infinite stats on board and hand for 0 mana if you have that ridiculous luck,. Mainly you pull at least one dragonqueen out from dragonqueen by dumb luck.
There are 45 dragons in total in standard, 1/45 is a huge percent. 2,22% may doesn't say much but the RNG rate is still pretty dang good. Some other random generators has worse percentage too, not to mention they are all dragon and most dragons are very strong for 0 mana.
unless you have removal or good trades, Dragon queen can get consistant if not stopped, specially when a second one comes.
As nerf doesn't affect the card overall, "infinite dragonqueen" rolls will finally be gone now.
I'm kind of like everyone else. Really don't see the point in this one. Almost every other card hit I can definitely see as being a fair change, but honestly, Galakrond Warlock isn't so powerful that I think this was really needed. Maybe Blizz is seeing some things that I'm not, but we'll have to see how this impacts Warlock's win rate.
Stopped playing but I still keep an eye on the game. Glad I stopped playing before this expansion because this seems to be a mess. They had done such a good job of fixing balance problems and making some tough decisions to stop power creep. Even when seeing the previews of this expansion I could see some obvious issues of balance and I can't believe they didn't play test this better. 2 major nerf patches not even a month in.
Maybe that's the best part of the nerf. Until the dust refund period is over, everyone around the ladder (assuming you have the initial dust amount) can play the chosen nerf cards at no cost as long as you remember to dust it at the end. Sort of like a demo, or a try before buy.
Really hope one day blizzard simply allows us to try all the cards from a new expansion for a short period before things get back to normal. Might encourage more experimentation or, dare I say it, have some fun.
Fiendish Rites and Invocation of Frost are the suprise nerfs this time around. Both nerfs look like they were intended to slow down the tempo of both decks, but they are still powerful, especially with Invocation + Zentimo. Overall, decent nerfs.
Also, I'm quite happy that Zentimo sees competitive play now since I've been trying to make it work since it was released.
Well deserved nerf. Man, I wish they had designed Galakrond around fair cards at the outset, because if you take away these unfun, busted cards I doubt those decks will be able to stand on their own. What a shame /s.
This was a ridiculous card. 3 mana for 9/6 in rush stats was too hardcore. Raising the mana cost even by the 1 makes this a lot less scary. Even if someone was able to bust out Barista Lynchen and get 3 copies of it, that would be turn 8 at the earliest.
This is totally weaksauce. Seriously. At least, 4 mana for 2 2/1's? That is hard for me to understand. If this was a Rogue card, I could understand that since it's cost could be reduced by Preparation. But 4 mana for 1 1/1 imps and +1 attack in Warlock... not that hardcore. This is seriously confusing.
I played Galakrond Zoo quite a bit at launch and it just doesn't seem that strong...I mean, not compared to anything else.
This is also the weirdest piece to hit...like, surely, Veiled Worshipper is the powerhouse of the deck.
Surprised with the nerf as well.
Having playing played some games with and against Gala Zoo, playing this turn 3 didn't seem overpowered (compared to say Scion or Necrium Apothecary). Sure if you flood the board then drop this by turn 3, it's pretty powerful but that's Zoo's version of a highroll.
It does indirectly nerf Veiled Worshiper though by making it harder to activate.
What a bizarre nerf. Feels like one they threw in just to placate the angry galakrond shamans out there: "see, you're not the only Galakrond getting hosed."
TBH I've not really been blown away by pirates this patch. Even supposing the deck is a problem, why go after the one card that gives it some consistency over obvious highroller cards like Prachute Brigand which can end a game by turn four if you draw the perfect hand.
This was more of a meh IMHO. There is a good amount of weapon hate around that lowering the durability isn't that big of an impact. The fact that you can get it back or add durability relatively easily is a meh.
This makes sense. It was a solid nerf. 5 Mana for 2 5/6's with taunt was ridiculous. Yes, the spell could have been countered. Yes, you could silence them. But realistically, having 12 taunting health for 5 mana is gross
I think T5 needs to implement a new policy whereby they have someone slap them with a smelly cod every time they attempt to print a card that gives two overstatted bodies at an unreasonably low manacost. Oasis Surger, Faceless Corrupter, Dragons Pack, can we just skip the cycle of inevitable nerfs and not have cards like these printed? Thanks.
This should have been included in the first round of nerfs instead of my boy Sludge Slurper. Of the two cards, Invocation of Frost is the one plainly cheating the mana curve, not the 1 mana 2/1 with overload.
In one of my last games we both played Alexstraza. My opponent (went first) got Emeriss doubling everythingsvattack/defense in his hand and the 4/8 (8/16 after Emeriss) taunt discover a dragon druid dragon. I got two 3/4 Amalgams. So I just conceded.

this isn't exactly a nerf to make highlander decks less OP, this is just a hotfix to make the card more reasonable.

Hmm the only arrow I've ever seen just jumps me to the next page. Gonna look for them now, thx.

Nope. However, the chicken in line 4 does refer to specifically an Angry Chicken.
Your guess on the first two lines is close, too.

Hey, I got three top 1 finish with Patches. Overall, I think I have more than 60% winrate (top four finish) with Patches. I love that dude.

Whatever happened to Reno? Must be one hell of a visual bug.

Good Nerf. Was expecting this in the first wave of the patch.

That's the sad thing. Lackey's provide a great battlecry, whereas the pirate you get from the ability may or may not be helpful.
