  • Just how bad is Galakrond Priest? Or the autocomplete is broken.

Is it possible to play an autocomplete deck without first having seen what the AI build for you. Will the autocomplete feature use only what you have and not recommend cards to craft? This is not a troll question, I genuinely wanted to know, having never used that feature myself.

  • Content suggestion: Crafting guide

  • Card Nerf - Dragonqueen Alexstrasza

The issue is simply that Dragonqueen Alexstrasza is alot of more powerful than the other cards able to generate themselves, and given that the pool of dragons are typically stronger than others means that its easily a win condition on its own. At 0 mana, Alex is busted and easily open to abuse (copying, sent back to the deck, etc.) not to mention giving you yet another reroll at getting specific dragons.

A good comparison is with Archivist Elysiana, which is a win condition card. There's 5 discover chances, and if even one is the archivist, then the other person might as well concede.

I get that its not consistent, and can in part agree that hearthstone should drop the 'discover itself' mechanic, but if team5 decides that this is not the path they think hearthstone should be heading, I think that's a reasonable argument. At the same time, this does not mean that they should completely ignore lop sided rng effects.

  • Card Nerf - Dragon's Pack

I think it would have been better to increase the mana to 7, and keep the +3/+3.

But, this nerf will do the trick too. Still playable, no longer stupidly broken. I really can't believe this card made it to release.

  • [DoD] Legendary Tier List and Crafting Guide

Welcome to the Legendary Crafting Tier List!

This has been updated at the request of the community. After a solid amount of work to update it, we finally have one that will be updated each major expansion and update! I have done by best to provide a good understanding of how Legendaries are performing in the current DoD Standard Metagame. If you are not sure which legendary you should craft next, this is the place to ask! This is also a great way to know which packs you should be openening the most. Some weight has been given to the Tier List based on rotation.

We only recommend disenchanting golden versions of legendary cards until you know you will not buy more packs from the corresponding set. Keeping even the worst legendaries will increase your chance of getting a good one next time due to the no-duplicate rule. We will try our best to stay on top of the meta-game with updates, and hope this guide can be a valuable resource for new and veteran players alike to make better decisions with your dust!

Disclaimer: A tier list like this can never please everyone; the meta game is dynamic. If you think a card is in the wrong tier, please explain and provide links to deck lists or other data to support your claim.

Please note that some of the cards may not yet be craftable, and are received through adventures or rewards.

  • Card Nerf - Ancharrr

Not nerfed hard enough. Should have increased cost to 4 mana as well.

  • Card Nerf - Dragonqueen Alexstrasza

Maybe they'll finally apply this to all self-generating cards!!!!

The nerf - not really necessary, but definitely a healthy move. The multiple Dragonqueen high-rolls will be missed, but really shouldn't be in the game.

  • Card Nerf - Fiendish Rites

I think the only reason this was nerfed, was to stealth nerf Veiled Worshipper to be less likely to play on-curve on turn 4. I'm not sure why they didn't just nerf Veiled Worshipper to 5 mana. If I wore an Aluminum Foil Hat, I might say that's because of the rarity difference between the cards.

  • Card Nerf - Dragonqueen Alexstrasza

    Quote From YourPrivateNightmare
    Quote From RavenSunHS

I understand the reasoning behind it, but this nerf is just BAD.

RNG, is, by definition, a highroll thing. You can restrict or widen the pool (Dragons), but how is Dragonqueen Alexstrasza not eligible?

Why then not preventing draconic lackey from generating, say, Malygos, Aspect of Magic or Deathwing, Mad Aspect?

If they really wanted to fix this, they should have extended the nerf to ANY cards that CAN generate themselves.

Having it on just one card feels incredibly clumsy, and absolutely counterintuitive with how RNG has ALWAYS worked in HS.

In fact, this change should be applied to MORE cards, because infinite value generation by virtue of RNG looping is stupid.

This is literally what i just wrote in my 4th paragraph.

I bet those who downvoted me are also those who complain of lack of consistency in HS...

  • 7 Hearthstone Cards are Getting Nerfed! The January Hearthstone Balance Patch Notes with Battlegrounds Changes

Don't play much battlegrounds but still do from time to time.

Shudderwock hp at 1 mana will help a lot in the late game, with amalgam gone, its a suitable time to buff this.

Reversion of mana cost for Toki's hp might be a big one. Toki was one of the best heroes pre-nerf. Interesting to see whether she'll be back on top after this.

Pyramid was one of the worst heroes to pick, but that was back in the day when amalgam was meta and games had minions at over 40+ hp. Giving 3 hp is kinda a big thing, even if its random. I expect this to be mid tier at least.

Queen and patches buff, not really relevant in my opinion. Rarely seen anyone pick these heroes. Patches doing 4 damage helps out in the early game, especially on turn 3, but past that I just don't see it.

Golden Soul juggler now deal separate damage per demon is actually a buff, considering how prevalent mechs are.

Selfless hero. Lol. I don't really know how to rate this change. I've never seen anyone keep this after going past 3 stars tier.

  • 7 Hearthstone Cards are Getting Nerfed! The January Hearthstone Balance Patch Notes with Battlegrounds Changes

Sigh.  And still no buff to Galakrond Priest

  • What NEW thing do you think would benefit Hearthstone?

Well, it certainly fits as a joke. I guess I misunderstood your kind intentions ;)

But jokes aside, I think the only reason why shudderwock has not been nerfed is because its both overwhelming and underwhelming at the same time. It really depends on the battlecries being played rather than the card itself. And I can't really think of a way to nerf it without completely destroying the card. In Galakrond shaman though, its at a quite oppressive level of power but as I said, I can't really think of a way to reduce its power level without completely destroying it. Wouldn't be surprising that team5's method of dealing with this is just to sweep it under the rug and wait for it to rotate from standard.

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

Nope. The "Rooster" might not be familiar to veterans of Hearthstone.

  • Just how bad is Galakrond Priest? Or the autocomplete is broken.

Not sure what's up with the Hench Clan Thugs but it seems to me that the autocomplete wants to build resurrect quest priest (which is a legit deck btw) by hook or by crook. You could try forcing the AI's choice by adding more invoke cards and Kronx before hitting autocomplete, I'm curious what would change.

Chi-Ji seems pretty crazy +1/+1 to Healbot for 7 extra Health, guaranteed since it turns to Armor as well.

Hmm...I was hoping Chi-Ji would be about the same, since you can only have one of the Legendary versus two of Antique Healbot...plus the game has come a long way since the days of Healbot, in terms of power-level. I can always tone down her effect.

    1. Add Shudderwock to the classic set

Why, just why? Its a broken card that should consider itself lucky it doesn't get nuked to oblivion.

it's the best card ever printed, in every category.   The bullet point was a joke but I sure wouldn't complain.

And for that reason it should not be in classic. Its way more powerful than most other legendaries in hearthstone history, let alone in classic. Its already creating problems for team5 in terms of card design. Its not getting calls for nerfs now because its rotating this April, but its not very far from the chopping block mind you.

as I said, it was a joke

but shudderwock has never needed a nerf.  It's only been in two tier 1 decks and the one that needed a nerf had little to do with shudderwock (gala shaman).

  • Just how bad is Galakrond Priest? Or the autocomplete is broken.

I had the " Play three games as..." quest and one of them was priest. I hadn't played much Galakrond Priest since goofing around in week one of the expansion, so I thought I would pop over to casual and goof around with it. I am not a good deck builderso most of the time in these situations I pick the key cards I want to play with and let the game complete the deck. I grabbed Galakrond, hit autocomplete, and headed into casual to goof around with randomly generated priest minions from the invoke effect.

I was slightly confused when my opening hand had the quest in it. I opened it back in the day but have never played it because I don't much care for the style. I don't have a full collection but do have all the commons and rares from each set so I thought maybe there was some odd combination of cards I owned that did something interesting. I drew Galakrond pretty quick but was frustrated by not drawing any invoke cards. I figured it was just my luck to have all the fun aspects of the deck at the bottom. The more cards I drew, the more it looked like some odd version of quest ressurect priest. I don't own [Hearthstone Card (Catarina Muerte) Not Found] but almost everything else from that deck surfaced. Since I thought I was playing to get to Galakrond (it even put two Hench-Clan Thug in the deck), I didn't play well and lost.  I decided to go back and look at the cards in my deck and discovered that there were zero invoke cards in it. That's right, it put in Kronx Dragonhoof and the thugs, but didn't give me anything else to use with it, much less upgrade to get the 5/2 claw so the thugs could get buffed. I just don't know what to think or if I can trust the autocomplete function again.

Edit: I would have to create the deck on the site to post it in the thread. It was pretty bad and I dont want anyone else thinking I really came up with it so I'll just leave it out.

  • We're Getting an Update this Week on Legends of Runeterra

I need more things for LOR. I didn't play any single game from last time we can play because of boring in meta game!

  • Custom Expansion - The Trials Within Us

Chi-Ji seems pretty crazy +1/+1 to Healbot for 7 extra Health, guaranteed since it turns to Armor as well.

  • Card Nerf - Dragon's Pack

Definitely think this is a good nerf. Makes it much easier to deal with without making it unplayable. Really had hoped for this in the first round of nerfs. Glad it did finally come through. Should keep the deck competitive while reducing its power level.

  • 7 Hearthstone Cards are Getting Nerfed! The January Hearthstone Balance Patch Notes with Battlegrounds Changes

They could've just doubled down and not do the nerfs.

Play testers are still human, and I'd much rather that they actively correct mistakes with little tweaks rather than let this simmer down for 2 months before announcing nerfs the size of nukes.

  • 7 Hearthstone Cards are Getting Nerfed! The January Hearthstone Balance Patch Notes with Battlegrounds Changes

The conditions aren't there so that there will be times during the game where you want to play them but can't, or because sometimes you will be playing them without fulfilling the requirement, but it is so that you can only play those cards in specific decks.

  • Card Nerf - Scion of Ruin

    Good Nerf.

Card is still very good IMO.

3/2 x 3 with Rush on 4 is still very strong.

Ritual Chopper to Awaken! to Scion of Ruin is still a strong tempo play.
