Zentimo was kind of a rushed craft, don't you think? In the end, it would have stayed in Standard for just 3 months and it's a meme in Wild.
But yeah, it's easy talking afterwards.
I mean, I'm not short on dust and I really like Spirit of the Frog and I figured there'S no way they'd gut Shaman again now that it's just one of many tier 1 decks. I'm not upset about the dust used, but rather that I feel like I won't be able to use him in anything.
it seems pretty significant. It means the combos with Breeder and Barista are harder to pull off, you can no longer play 3 Scions in one turn and, most importantly, it eliminates the Galakrond + Scion swing turns
Now the Frog build is essentially pointless because there's no good 1-mana spell to replace this to fuel the train, meaning without the draw power it all goes back to running Mana Tide Totem and hoping to draw into your powerplays in time before your opponent'S snowball you to death.
Except Earth Shock, which was already being played at 1, and is at 2 in some decks.
of course but you don't usually play Earthshock at your leisure to cycle Frog. It's there to counter Rogue mostly and to serve as redundancy.
Just double Earthshock will not be enough for the deck to work and LIghtning Bolt has no synergy with the rest of the deck (neither has any other 1-mana spell except maybe Blazing Invocation)
Zentimo + Invocation of Frost invokes three times and puts three 2/1s into the board with rush. Its not going away anytime soon assuming Galakrond shaman remains on tier 1-2. The nerf may have ruined the frog draws but in a way this was an intended weakness of Galakrond shaman.
Dragonqueen Alexstrasza - when I first saw the article, I got really scared by seeing Alex in the thumbnail. Fortunately for us, this is technically a nerf, but actually no: Dragonqueen into Dragonqueen shouldn't have been possible from the beginning. Since the chance to highroll is so little, we can say that this change won't make her worse. We're gonna miss (or not) some insane highlights, but that's it: that's the capacity of this nerf. Still insane, still metadefining. Won't disenchant her.
...
I am absolutely disenchanting her. Now I get to craft her golden for the low low (effective) price of 1600 dust rather than 2800. That or I'm trading in a golden anchor for her. Either way she will finally be the resplendent dragon she is meant to be :)
If they really wanted to fix this, they should have extended the nerf to ANY cards that CAN generate themselves.
Having it on just one card feels incredibly clumsy, and absolutely counterintuitive with how RNG has ALWAYS worked in HS.
The Draconic Lackey part it's nonsense, why if you are "discovering" a dragon, not be able to get a pool of well... random dragons? He doesn't give you a Draconic Lackey, because it isn't a collectible neither a dragon, so...
And Dragonqueen Alexstrasza not being able to generate copies of itself is like Archivist Elysiana not being able to give copies of herself, all discover cards should be like that, because you're not looking for the same card (unless you are a combo/miracle that can benefit from it), technically you're looking for something situational, that's why you're discovering it now and not adding said card in the deck in the first place.
IMO the main thing this does is eliminate the bullshit swing turn from Galakrond into Scion. Which is great. That swing turn is fucking bullshit.
It also Reduces the turns where you play 3 copies of Scion or 2 copies of scion and copy them twice. Those have never felt as bad. But I suppose it doesn't hurt.
bye bye, shaman. The nerfs will also make spirit of the frog and zentimo worse in this deck and galakrond shaman will just be worse overall. Dragon's pack might still be good with electra, but I think the popularity of this deck will plummet after the nerfs.
I actually think the deck is fine. Ancharr can still replicate itself with Pillager. And Upgrade and Greenskin aren't going anywhere.
It's definitely a big deal to draw 1 less card but I think there's a non-zero chance that the deck is still fine. It just moves a tad more midrange and cuts the bad pirates.
I remember seeing it for the first time in the final stream at the beginning of December and saying "oh God this will be nerfed for sure, they can't be serious". In the end I was right.

Surprisingly, this was actually the best card in the deck. I didn't realize it until I tried to figure out why it was nerfed.
That said, it wasn't the best card in the deck in the way Ancharr or Apothecary were. It's win% was in line with things like Flame Imp. But I guess they had to target something.
That's a pretty fair Nerf I think. 2 Mana deal 2 to a Minion and freeze something is still pretty good.
...Or maybe this is just a pathetic Attempt at putting an End to the absolute Dominance of Freeze-Shaman! Ha, by Moorabi! How I pitty these simple Mortals!

Well if you care about the aesthetics then you're absolutely right. Enjoy your golden randomly generated Dragons!
Card Nerf - Dragon's Pack
Hell, Yeah! Much needed Nerf for that Card!
Now Shamans can only summon 4 4-5 Taunts for 8 Mana and play Shudderwock afterwards! WOOO!
7 Hearthstone Cards are Getting Nerfed! The January Hearthstone Balance Patch Notes with Battlegrounds Changes
I understand that feeling: I unpacked him one year ago and until now I haven't really been able to use it efficiently.
It's a shame since it's such a cool card, but we can do nothing about it.
Card Nerf - Dragonqueen Alexstrasza
Wait...You're telling me it was possible before? Huh, TIL, I guess.
Anyway, that's just a minor Nerf. I don't think that's gonna influence the Play-/Winrate of this Card at all.
7 Hearthstone Cards are Getting Nerfed! The January Hearthstone Balance Patch Notes with Battlegrounds Changes
Wait that deck is t1 and here i thought the guy was original when i played against them at rank 20 after not playing for a while.

Card Nerf - Ancharrr
Decent Nerf. Pirate-Warrior desperately needs a good Draw, so taking away 1 is huge. But it's still pretty strong Card for that Archetype.
Anyway... fucking suck on that, ye scurvy Dogs!
Card Nerf - Invocation of Frost

Card Nerf - Scion of Ruin
Was that Nerf really that needed? Genuine Question.
I only encountered a handfull of Gala-Warriors (mostly in Wild), but that Card was never a problem, not even buffed up.
Card Nerf - Dragonqueen Alexstrasza

At least, that's how I see it.
Card Nerf - Necrium Apothecary
Damn, that's a shame they had to hit that Card. Pulling of fun/stupid Combos is gonna be much harder with this guy being clunkier.
But I guess it was necessary though. Getting charged to death by 1 Mana 10-10s or a giant Leeroy Jenkins sucks.

One of the most broken cards of the whole set.
I remember seeing it for the first time in the final stream at the beginning of December and saying "oh God this will be nerfed for sure, they can't be serious". In the end I was right.
Card Nerf - Dragon's Pack
Should have happened the first time
Card Nerf - Invocation of Frost
Except Earth Shock, which was already being played at 1, and is at 2 in some decks.

I"m super bummed about Fiendish Rites being hit, but it makes it a little more balanced, especially for Wild. The others, are a no brainer though. [Hearthstone Card (Necrium Apothecary) Not Found] and [Hearthstone Card (Dragon's Pack) Not Found] needed it.
Card Nerf - Fiendish Rites

This card might be dead now.
