I'm going to post a rebuttal, and since this is an area I believe in passionately, I'm probably going to get a little heated. I apologise in advance.
In my view, people who complain about netdecking are people who either don't understand how the internet works, don't understand how communities work, or who actively want the game to be weaker than it is.
Think about what you do when you make a deck you really enjoy. You post it online, or you talk to your friends about it, or what have you. That is a natural human action, something we picked up when we stopped roaming the savannah and started squatting in mud huts - we like to share things. We get pleasure from knowing that someone else enjoyed something we made or did. And, inevitably, when someone shares something they enjoy with you, you'll want to try it for yourself. That is a borderline inevitability in any game with a strong community.
Take that to its rational conclusion. The internet allows millions of people to share decks with one another. People, as a general rule, want to win; therefore, they will tend towards the decks that win more often than the ones that don't, all else being equal. This then leads to the strongest decks becoming better known, and becoming popular. Even if pro play didn't exist, the existence of the internet will lead to netdecking. It will happen with absolute certainty.
Then factor in the person making the deck. The vast majority of decks you'll see will be made by strangers, and you have no frame of reference as to whether that person has any idea what they're talking about. So, of course, when professional play exists, players will lean towards decks made by professional players because they have credentials. Again, this encourages a trend of netdecking.
But of course, none of this explains why netdecking is actually a good thing, other than (I suppose) the community effort to find and play good decks. And yet it is - netdecking is actually healthy for the game. It encourages a higher skill cap, enables balance changes to happen, and provides easy points of reference for people discussing the game.
"Higher skill cap? What?" I hear you say. "You don't have to make your own deck, that's lowering the skill cap!" I wholly disagree. Firstly, of course, because teching a deck to your tastes and to your local meta after netdecking it is a strong skill in and of itself, and it's one most people seem to be pretty terrible at. But more importantly, because concepts like hand-reading and gamestate knowledge cannot exist without semi-transparency of what an opponent's deck is. It's simply not possible to get any kind of real hand-read on an opponent if you have no idea what their deck is. The best you can make is a vaguely educated guess. And even that educated guess wouldn't really be possible without an established net-based metagame, since you have no idea how good your opponent really is - without knowing someone's skill level, they could have decked literally anything with faulty reasoning.
Balance-change wise - having established decks allows for statistics to be gathered on card performance much more easily. If everyone is playing random garbage they put together, the metrics are nowhere near as consistent and trends are more difficult to identify. You might not think that's an issue - and admittedly I'm on record as being strongly against the change-heavy tendencies lately. But think about the most obnoxious decks that have been changed and consider that if fewer people are playing those decks they're less likely to be spotted and changed.
I could go on - at length - but I'm sure nobody's reading at this point besides you. So, closing para:
To complain about netdecking - aside from lacking a basic understanding of human nature - is a fundamentally selfish action. You want to make your own decks - you can do so. You can do so all day long, and nobody doing anything is going to stop you. What you're complaining about, really, is not being able to win with the decks you've made because other people are playing better decks they've found elsewhere. So, in essence, you're upset because other people make better decks than you do, and give them out to people in the same way you do. And while I can understand how that would be upsetting, it's probably not something I'd go around broadcasting, personally.
The decks I fear most atm are Galakrond Warrior, Face Hunter and Res Priest. As mage you can't heal enough for the hunter, the warrior hero attacks are just too much face damage early on and when the big galakrond turns happen its just suddenly an OTK deck where you need a wall of taunts or your dead and the res control priest is just utterly stupid/boring to play against: I play minion you remove it etc. (but winnable given enough Polymorphs).
Yeah dark theme is so nice. By all means implement a light theme for people that want it for some reason (TFT panel testing maybe? :P) but keep dark as an option which I'm sure it will be or unicorn revolt (which sounds bad).
What I really like about Flux's post is just how excited and up for it he is.
I don't play other card games besides HS, but just the sheer amount of work and dedication put into the site by all concerned already is definitely praise worthy - so kudos on that front. Now you people go and walk about today feeling special basking under that all praise I just bestowed :P
I will do the same because I got to use the word bestowed (small things make my day sometimes).
You play a completely different deck with those subs. Could work, but you miss out on a lots of targeted draw and therefore weaken the deck substantially. 2 x Town Crier and 1 x Kronx Dragonhoof are so good and essential for consistency.
I think people over exaggerate their reactions about netdecking.. people who net deck card by card and just always play the top deck no matter what aren't gonna win as much as someone who takes a shell and then adapt it to their playstyle/local meta/global meta, they are gonna win about the same as the win rate suggests or less specially if they don't understand how the deck works..
I am not against net decking but I feel annoyed by people purpously making bad decks that people already tried and play those cause they are not meta decks.. same for people complaining about aggro while playing galakround priest or some other deck that is not meta just for the sake of being a "none netdecker elitist"
I always make my own decks at the start of the expansion it's fun and all but when it comes to crafting something I HAVE TO look at the data so I don't craft something I will regret, also if the deck I am playing is not working there's nothing bad about getting a better shell and work from there..
let's take for example dragon embiggen druid.. the deck is very good but at it's first iterations which I played as well the deck was very slow and didn't use a lot of rush minions.. now the deck is getting refined by many if you play a deck and try to refine it yourself it will take you a lot of games around 20 to get what really works or not but you can look at the data and get better feel for what is good and what isn't..
my personal hate against netdecks is not about elitism. It is my personality that I bore quickly so I don't want to play against same decks over and over again. I don't even use a deck 5 games in a row. That's a personal taste. I am not trying to be an asshole like "people who does netdecks are stupid and can't even make their own decks.". I just hate it because it bores me to play against and with same decks for 4 months. Even they change their decks in time; for example 1st person plays mech paladin first month, then he crafts another top deck face hunter in 2nd month, and another one on 3rd month, even he plays a different deck I already being matched his 2nd and 3rd decks in 1st month from different guys so nothing changes for me.
I can understand that some people don't have time to test decks, they simply netdecks a successful deck and keep going. I already didn't say anything bad to people who netdecks. I just said that I hate it. It is not elitism. It is a personal decision and taste like don't like eating same meal in every dinner.
I really don't understand why people who netdecks personalizing this. That's my opinions and don't like netdecking, don't like to play against netdecks. You might not care which deck you are playing against. I don't care what you think, so don't care what I think. It is just an opinion. ( you here is not you Doublesummon, I just talked in general.)
Last I’ve heard is that they ARE working on it. They may have other things/concerns that have to be dealt with first since the site is still relatively young.
You could always go to r/customhearthstone and make a trash meme card and win over there while you wait for the competitions to start here.

I hate what those community sites and netdecking make the game.
- posted on a HS community site
I've been playing a Highlander Malygos ft. Jepetto Hunter Deck, that took me from rank 7-4 this month.
Does that make me more "off-meta" than you?
Or does that mean too many people are playing Maly Hunter now, thus making your deck no longer "off-meta" enough for you?
Yeah "HS Community" means netdecks only, sure.
Where did you get that opinion? I am here for some forum games, reveal seasons, helping people + asking for help, for chatting about my favorite card game, Saving decks before expansion hits to remember, fan cards/expansions etc. Not everyone is using these sites for those netdecks. These reasons are enough to be a part of a community, I presume.
Also, I am not trying to be off-meta. If i like Highlander Mage for example, When it becomes meta, I am not stopping to play Highlander Mage. I don't stop playing any meta decks if i like the style but I always prefer to build it myself. Just don't like copy-paste.
I just exampled that hunter deck, that's all. I might have exampled another unpopular deck too. That was just "AN" example.
I was pointing out that the claims these sites made as "off-meta" becomes meta in 1-2 days. There's no meaning calling those decks off-meta + If the deck dropped to hsreplay.net it will be sooner or later meta if it has good winrates.
There are other people like me too in the HS community sites. You are always coming with this bullshit argument like "posting this in a hs community". Your opinion is not the only opinion. There are thousands of people. Everyone can enjoy different things. You netdeckers keep denying people like me in the community and then you are boasting each other how good community you are. That's a complete bullshit. You can't deny any other opinions different from yours. The community is not just for people who thinks like you. You need to learn that.
I might not have a popular opinion but it doesn't mean i don't exist in this community. Wtf is This ! I just said that I don't like what they do to the game. THAT'S ALL.
I just pointed my point of view and since it is my comment, I told about my opinions. Didn't attack anyone or harass anyone. Oh, but if your ego got harassed because you are a netdecker that's a different thing. I can't help stupidity, sorry.
Yes, I personally had best result with the mana package, Arcane Giant and Mana Giant but do note that Giant Anaconda isn't actually gigantic... disappointing synergy if you ask.
Big thank you to Flux and crew for putting out this awesome community site! I won't say I never visit the old page... because sometimes I do! Especially if I'm looking for a deck a specific deck list, maybe something a little older not seen much these days to relive some old fun in Wild. You know, lists that may have been popular before Out of Cards came along.
But I will say this site has been my homepage and the first thing I see when I open my browser since it was reopened as Out of Cards! And as long as it's online, ads or no ads, it's likely to stay that way. Looking forward to the additional content for other games as well!
Can you update the Cards database with Image of the cards. I got a lot of problems with just reading text. It's the only thing that makes me must get back to Hearthpwn.
here you go. i built it from memory for you. ive since dusted a lot of the cards to make newer decks. obviously youll get destroyed if you play this deck in the wild format.... but in standard during the time that the freeze cards were around i probably wont 45-50% of my games played with it. it was a lot of fun.
Anyone tried replacing halazzi?? (because I don't have it)
I've tried a cult master for draw, scavenging hyena for an earlier threat, and toying around with high inquisitor highmane (sorry I don't know how to do the card links on mobile)
Dryad of Ilysian Grove is a nice ramp card. Being able to play double lands will be useful in the mid-game. I am not sure how good this card will be or if there will be any good decks using it, the effect is kind of generic and it isn't really obvious where you want to play him. But I am glad to have a card with an effect like this in standard.
Hydra's Growth isn't bad, but it will probably end up being outclassed by better cards. Being able to put a +1/+1 counter on everything you control is usually worth less than 3 mana, two turns after you play the enchantment the enchanted creature will have four +1/+1 counters on it. But I don't think you would want to play this card because you already have cards like Venerated Loxodon, Unbreakable Formation, and Ajani, the Greathearted.
Discordant Flute Player is kind of confusing. I don't see why you would want to make a 0/1 goat except for chump-blocking or so you can sacrifice it. I don't think this card does enough for it to be used in constructed, but it isn't bad in limit where chump-blockers are much more valuable.
Eutropia, the Twice-Favored looks pretty good. I don't know how many enchantments you will be playing in a single turn, so I don't know how often she will trigger, but she will be able to deliver some damage, if nothing else she will make your opponent sweat. I don't know if this deck will be any good, we don't have any deck like it in standard right now to compare it to, but I have hope that something will be possible.
Archon of Sun's Grace is for one, amazing in limited. It is not a bad first pick in draft, and it will be super useful at any point in the game. But like just about any other card with the constellation keyword, I have a very hard time imagining how useful it will be in standard. I would think that there is enough support for a deck like this to work in standard, but it will probably end up being pushed out of the meta by faster more consistent decks.
Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath is pretty big. There is a lot of value in this card, but it is very slow. This is a card that you would mainly want to play in a self-mill deck. There is no way you are spending 3 mana on turn 3 doing nothing and then escaping on turn 4. If you want to get this out early you will need to be milling yourself a lot. The effect however, when combined with some of the other self-mill tools in standard now, will probably be enough to make a decent off-meta deck.
Mantle of the Wolf is a pretty good aura, giving a ton of stats right off the bat is pretty good. And I am confident in saying that this is way better than Blessing of Kings. +4/+4 means a lot less in a game where the attacker chooses the blockers, and where damage stays across multiple turns. Plus, it leaves wolves behind when the creature dies, which are creatures you can enchant. I cannot say for sure whether or not an "Aura" deck will be good or not, but this card will be used in it.
Whirlwind Denial will - just in case anyone was confused - effect everything your opponent has on the stack. This card can be huge when you stack up multiple abilities and triggers and then suddenly you counter everything your opponent does. Even if this only hits one thing that is still good value. Being able to counter any spell or ability is very good. Disallow was played a ton when it was in standard, this is only slightly less good when it only hits a single target, but the ability to counter multiple things makes this card worth it.

Coming back to this comment section to ask another question:
How did you get the cards to display using your own spellings (e.g. Duhty Rat for Dirty Rat, Doomsaya for Doomsayer, etc.)?
I'm hoping I'll be able to use this trick in my own decks for the future. Thanks in advance!
