I'm surprised there is no Grandmasters before the next expansion -- having one GM season per expansion made a lot of sense to me. Other than that, I really like the changes announced.
I've been playing a Quest Hunter with just beasts and Master's Call. It performs pretty decent, although often I win or lose before quest completion, so I'm not certain yet it really should be a quest deck. I don't have Halazzi either, but I would probably include it in this deck if I did. Instead, I've been using Hunting Mastiff.
They've also changed the prize money distribution of the tour stops to be less top heavy, which should reward consistency better than last year. It's definitely the right direction.
Eat to Extinction reminds me of Vraska's Contempt, except instead of gaining 2 life you get to surveil. Gaining 2 life wasn't really a big selling point, it was mainly played because you could exile a planeswalker as well as a creature, and you could do it at instant speed. If Vraska's Contempt was a good card, then this one will be as well.
Kiora Bests the Sea God is a very impactful saga, you get to add a ton of stats on the board (with hexproof) and then right after that you tap all of their blockers. The last ability will probably end up being irrelevant most games, I imagine that the first 2 should be enough to finish off your opponent. The only reason I am skeptical about this card seeing play is that by the time you reach 7 mana you want your opponent to already be dead. You will be playing this card in an aggro/midrange deck as a finisher, but for the majority of your games you won't even get to the point where you can play this card. I think most of the time it will just be a dead card in your hand. If nothing else though it will be a super powerful card in limited.
Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger is the opposite of Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath. One of them will make you draw a card and gain life, the other one will make your opponent discard a card and lose life. I don't think Kroxa will be any less powerful than Uro, but I do think it might see more play simply because the colors are better for graveyard strategies.
Ichthyomorphisis (I hope I spelled that right) is best compared to Frogify, or Kasmina's Transmutation. The big issue with all of those cards is that they don't remove the creature, and they cannot be played at instant speed. Your opponent can always use a 1/1 or even a 0/1 in some way, these spells won't do much to keep the aggro deck down. This card is much better than the other "frogify" type cards because it does stop the creature from being able to attack, but if your opponent plays a 1 drop on turn 1, a 2 drop on turn 2, and a 3 drop on turn 3, turning their 3 drop into a 0/1 won't help you a whole lot. This is not a very good removal card, but it is better than some other mono-blue removal cards.
Fateful End isn't a bad card for limited where the general quality of cards is lower, but in constructed I don't know if it is worth it. Dealing 3 damage for 3 mana isn't the best deal, and I am not sure if the scrying will make the difference.
Soul-Guide Lantern is an amazing sideboard card. It only costs 1 colorless mana and it can exile every card in your opponent's graveyard. If any graveyard strategy becomes popular then this card will be popular too.
Alseide's Gift of Life is not a bad card. It reminds me of Siren Stormtamer, a 1 mana 1/1 with a 1 mana ability to effectively counter something that targets a creature you control. The big downside of this card is that a 1 mana 1/1 lifelink is not nearly as useful as a 1 mana 1/1 flying creature. It is not a bad card, but it is only useful for it's ability, so then why not just play Gods Willing?
Thryx, the Sudden Storm is very interesting. For one, it is a 5 mana 4/5 flash flying, which isn't bad, but it also prevents your "big drops" from being countered. I don't know how much you will be able to utilize this ability, usually you don't want to play too many big drops because it makes your early game less consistent. I just can't think of a deck where you would want to play this card. You wouldn't want to just take 4 copies of this guy, a couple of ramp spells and a 20 cards that cost 5 or greater. I am just stumped as to where or why you would play this card.
it sounds like an elemental or dragon since most of them need each other to trigger their effect but Swamp-dwelling makes me think it might be Bandersmosh so my first guess is it ?
First sentence hints battlecry probably;
Second should hint what the tribe might be,
The last one is - if it is a battlecry, it doesn't have "if you played an elemental last turn" or "if you are holding a dragon" synergy.
Those are my guesses but still want to say Bandersmosh :D
Since I just went and don't want to do twice in a row, I'll give my go to Almaniarra since their reasoning gave me a good head start on puzzling it out.
Lost a game because of spaghetti Code, and i don't know if i'm angry or delused.
Turn 10> play Temporous Turn 11 & 12 > opponents ready to kill me on turn 15 Turn 13 (my first turn) > set big board & play second temporous for another 6 damages
I've consindered it. Also because the animation is sick as....!
I've been running it with a Walk the Plank instead, so far (i also picked up a Fan of Knives instead of [Hearthstone Card (Pharao Cat) Not Found] because of a lot of zoo, Hunter and Shaman matches) and started to pick up some succes. Does require some practice and reading the meta.
All the manacheating and burgling is fun to play with and it does wonders sometimes.
Thanks for the introduction guide, looking forward to some indepth thoughts about the cards.
Thanks for keeping us informed! I personally don't mind ads as long as they are not invasive, and I feel they are OK as they currently are in OOC. Keep up the good work!
The swamp-partner being Blazecaller. They have the same battlecry effect (deal 5 dmg), just that Maximus doesn't need "play an elemental last turn" to trigger. Blazecaller was from Un'goro so maybe that's the swamp?
Deathwing, Mad Aspect? The swamp-dwelling partner being Swamp King Dred, who attacks all enemy minions when they are played, while deathwing attacks of its own accord.

This site is really good and I hope it will get the audience and sustainability it deserves. Good job guys.
One thing though that may seem a small detail at first but imho it's huge : the way forums are designed you can't directly jump to the last page of a thread. It's already annoying in general when you want to participate to a discussion, but it becomes a real issue when it comes to the famous "80g play a friend quest" thread. It's a pain in the arse to check the last post in these threads and it becomes more and more annoying as the thread grows.
This is the only reason I still go to hearthpwn from time to time, and it makes me sad.
Don't overlook this point as this thread is a huge magnet for newcomers.
I want to say "Thank you" to all of you and your work you have put into Outof.cards and in this well written post about the past, present an forseeable future of this site.
One of the most missing features IMHO is a way to import my own card collection into OOC. There was a thread where hinted a cooperation with the people of hearthstone deck tracker, which I found a brilliant idea because HDT is a wide used tool for hearthstone.
In the section about application development however you said:
. This includes but is not limited to deck trackers, data importers, and native versions of the site. There are also no plans to contract or work with people outside of Out of Cards to develop official Out of Cards apps, though we aren't closing the doors on possible partnerships with existing apps if we feel they're awesome enough to endorse.
Mage is fine. Getting tired of saying it, but tech for your meta. If you're getting rolled by a lot of deathrattle decks, tech in some silences and time your Zephrys properly. If you're getting rolled by aggro, pick up some standard anti-aggro tools (hell, we got some good ones this expansion). Highlander Mage is in a solid position in the meta right now, not top but certainly not poorly placed, and highlander decks are incredibly easy to tech.
As to the other mage archetypes you listed, Secret Mage has been abusively strong in Wild for some time now and is a strong indicator as to why the deck as it is there simply shouldn't see Standard play. Mage doesn't really have access to an OTK right now (and in fact, most decks don't), but Freeze Mage is actually back to being viable as an archetype for the first time in years, so you're kinda wrong there. Tempo Mage has never really existed, it was just a lazy name attached to a deck that had no real defining trait (if it was made today it'd have been termed Flamewalker Mage I suspect) - but regardless, so many of Mage's good cards (particularly evergreen ones) are either slow or reactionary that it would be bizarre if they had any kind of viable tempo-based archetype. And finally, Cyclone Mage was only viable so long as it was supported by Giants/CC cheese, and without that it's just another 'let's make a bunch of random cards and hope for the best' deck.
None of those decks really scream 'make me good' to me, or apparently to Blizzard. Though if you want to talk about other archetypes not existing, I'd be significantly more receptive - Mage feels almost as vulnerable as Priest is to complaints of a poor class identity...
