  • Standard Meta Report #15 - Fixing (Yet Another) Shaman Meta

Alongside other changes I could see them changing the 2/1 to a 1/2 (still with rush), which is a whole lot less effective at clearing minions. Not sure where the dust refunds would land with that but it feels like the most effective single change to me.

  • Standard Meta Report #15 - Fixing (Yet Another) Shaman Meta

I just remembered that one meme from the Old Gods days where it explained several Hearthstone related terms and one of them was "card advantage: Shaman has better cards than you, therefore they win"

if it wasn't true then, it's certainly true now.

  • Standard Meta Report #15 - Fixing (Yet Another) Shaman Meta

i love it that the report is just outright calling out the meta bullshit cause of shaman.

Glad its getting nerfed. Ive never seen the meta game been so skewe . cause of this i just play casual mode for the quest gold stuff BUT  i keep facing like 2 shamans out of 3. never in my years of playing HS have i faced the tier S deck so many times in casual. the deck is so far off balance that ppl play it without stop both on ranked and on casual to a rate ive never witnessed.

i believe the nerfs should occur on tuesday. thank fuck

  • Standard Meta Report #15 - Fixing (Yet Another) Shaman Meta

A change to ALL Mutate effects, to consider spent mana of the target (saved as a green stat together with atk and hp), instead of the basic cost. But this would be too good to be true.

So my bet goes like this:

PS: i am not even sure how this stuff passed internal testing...

  • Suspicious Matchmaking

I feel it since switched to wild in ROS.

  • Suspicious Matchmaking

This is a fairly silly claim. Some people forget that you are fighting another real person playing hearthstone. Whenever you get a really bad matchup, someone else gets a really good matchup. Which means that if you were unlucky and got seven bad matches in a row, there are seven people who got a really good matchup. Do you really think blizzard is randomly choosing half of their players to get bad matchups, and half of their players to get good matchups?

  • Suspicious Matchmaking

I've experienced this on so many occasions that I lost count. I'd be playing a deck and keep running into the same class that was punishing me mercilessly, so like a sensible fellow, I'd switch decks. BOOM! Wouldn't see another at all. Like the opponents I was playing disappeared right when I switched to a counter. Don't know what it is, but I seriously don't think Blizzard targets individual players. I'm sure they use your deck as a factor in matchmaking, but how or why is a bit of a mystery.

Full tinfoil hat time though: I have suspected in the past they do this as part of a behavioral engineering algorithm; they simply match a person they know will buy packs against counters until they get frustrated enough to buy more cards in an effort to win again. Probably complete B.S., but sounds like something I'd do if I was in charge. Lol

  • Praise Galakrond! Nerfs incoming soon

i just hope they nerf it like they did with cubelock after kobolds. its so powerfull that nerfing just one card aint gonna cut it.

  • Suspicious Matchmaking

    First time?

with all honesty i thought like that a year ago. ive now adopted a different mindset.

so the secret to fight that feeling is just stick with one deck. odds are u will be facing shaman the most so no matter what keep playing that holy wrath paladin and things will even out

  • Suspicious Matchmaking

Yeah I agree with you: Flik Skyshiv is one hell of a hard counter.

Luckily for me I've always been to the offender's side until now :)

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

I am two pairs and an unknown

Not the class, but the colour of Rogue

My effect has nothing to do with my art

I never end if you let me start

Ask my holder, the man shot dead

Playing me doesn't get you ahead

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

    You got it, your turn

  • Suspicious Matchmaking

I'm completely a tinfoil hat guy on this subject. . . perhaps even moreso when I play MtGA. I just KNOW these SOBs are against me somehow.

Also, unrelated - I love Galakrond Warlock, despite all the pre-release trashing :)

  • Grimm Face Hunter

    thanks

  • Grimm Face Hunter

Replacement is meta-dependant, and i still have to understand it.

So far it seems the only relevant novelty in the meta is Pirate Warrior.

Right now i think i'd try Golakka Crawler,Explosive Trap, Bear Trap.

  • Galakrond Shaman sprinkled with Wild cards

    1. Hot Spring Guardian is here for a heal and good taunt on curve against aggro matchups like Secret Mage or Odd Paladin etc. The reason why I don't play Secret Eaters in this deck is because it targets 1 matchup only and against other decks is just 4 mana 2/4 which feels terrible to drop at any point of game
    2. Running Novice Engineer and Coldlight Oracle may sound like an overkill until you bump into Kabal decks. Where you realise that the draw engines that you have are really important either it be for milling or recovering from the opponents Psychic Scream. This deck doesn't want to be too much in the late game because that's where Reno decks are superior. And in order to finish games faster you need a powerful draw engine
    3. It's not a mistake. My version is just Token/Bloodlust burst oriented but there are plenty versions out there which run on Evolve shell,Lifedrinker otk shell,Dragon Shell etc. I'm also not saying that my shell is the best. Keep in mind that I brewed it at the beggining of the expansion where people are experimenting and even my archievment with it on Legendary rank can be questionable due to me meeting favourable matchups etc
  • Suspicious Matchmaking

Funny, I was also playing Holy Wrath Paladin earlier because I faced a lot of Shamans, and then I got 6 Rogues in a row (which is super annoying due to Flik Skyshiv). In 20 games I faced 1 Shaman, heck I even faced more Control Warriors..

  • Galakrondlock in case you want to play Odd Paladin with Warlock portrait

Serpent Egg feels better to drop into Explosive Runes or eats 2 triggers of Cannon from Pirate Warrior. That's my reason behind it: It eats up damage in Aggro v Aggro

Wow thanks for that reply, from the current climate on the internet I was prepared for the worst :) I wouldn't mind swapping ads for "die Hitler Lüge" (or whatever that was called) for some magic ;)

I was actually developing a conspiracy theory that Google wants to take revenge on me for my cookie settings.... ;)

  • Suspicious Matchmaking

We can’t go on together with suspicious matchmaking (with suspicious matchmaking).

And we can’t build our decks, with suspicious matchmaking.

  • Hearthstone Balance Changes Confirmed For Next Week

I think the existence of shudderwock is making the shaman overpowered at the moment. I can beat the deck fairly well up until they go and make galakrond's 4 8/8's. If i manage to destroy the board, they just play shudderwock. Not really fair all those 8/8's. Would they change the battlecry effect to only affect minions it would not double up galakrond as well. This i would like to see as well. With that being said, wasn't this an obvious outcome for the development team?

Not sure why everyone has such a hateboner for Warrior. I've played the matchup a bunch of times and while it's strong it doesn't really seem overpowered unless you're playing a real greedy deck with lack of defense.

If anything Parachute Brigand needs to be a 2/1 or something because it's just not fair when that thing drops twice on turn 1 and you have no realistic chance of getting rid of it.

I have been playing rush warrior + galakround I have NO idea why people are playing pirates it's clearly inferior to rush warrior, I have been winning none stop, even against shamans..

Rush warrior had 2 problems: lack of reach, and lack of card draw that doesn't loses you as much tempo, guess what galakround does? +3 attack and card draw.. Pirate warrior while strong just has so much of it's power on a legendary weapon that if they don't draw it well it's just a meh deck and even the "god draw" is not that insane..

What list of Rush Warrior are you using? It sounds interesting.

here's the list I use, I don't own a second copy of the galakround reward dragon so I don't play it I normally don't craft cards early in the expansion so I don't own it, feel free to run 1 less berserker for it, it's really strong once you proc it.

I am surprised pirate warrior doesn't run the mummy, it's one of the best warrior cards...

This list is of course not optimized but I think it's superior to pirate warrior because it got a lot more staying power and is not dependent on high rolling.

Edit: I played the list right now and it does need tweaking it was really good day 1 but not anymore. I still think a pure pirate warrior is just too dependent on ONE card and that's why they should be inferior to other lists which work without it, that being said the list has a problem of being too reactive for a tempo deck.. I reccomend taking such a shell as rush warrior from SOU (before the disaster of TOT) and add the galakround package to it and probably also the 1/2 pirate as it's a value generator that can be played early, been playing with it, it's strong.. just that it's quite MEH against shaman.. but shaman.. is shaman.

Thanks guys! This is exactly what we have the feedback forum available for, I want to make sure we're giving everyone as good an experience as possible. I've got ahead and banned the domain from advertising on the site anymore, it may take some time to go through.

Thonson: We are actually trying to serve less intrusive ads than most sites which is why a lot of them end up being text-based. You're right, we could definitely be making more money if we opted for more flashy stuff. There's a lot of stuff that needs to get fixed up with ads though before we  make an attempt at that route.

Personally, I've been getting a LOT of magic ads. I think Wizards is trying to tell me something.
