That's an interesting question though... At the time of a Reborn minion being on board the new version doesn't exist. So this card destroys the existing copies (anywhere) and then does the Reborn trigger after that? Or does the game consider the reborn copy as already existing somewhere? Intuitively it would be the first way
Seems really really good to me warlock is the class with the easiest time having a large hand and the taunt is really relevant you get mountain giant + sunfury protector in ONE card..
as a handlock/evenlock player I am quite excited..
The biggest problem for handlock in standard is not value - it has a ton; neither is its hand size after turn 7; the problem is how it can survive against aggro prior to turn 5 and how it can turn the board over without a flexible card like Defile. Either with or without quest, Handlock hardly has anything to play before turn 5. Twilight Drake or Hellfire are the best card you can hope for but often you will die even after playing them. New dragon cards (lifesteal Eviscerate and the 5 mana Duskbreaker) will help but certainly not enough to make the strategy work.
As far as I like the conceptual innovation behind Valdris Felgorge, it is still a win-more card. Sprint wouldn't see play in warlock and a 4/4 body is not enough to push it over the edge. Abyssal Summoner, on the other hand, can help stablize and I can see it being played in Even Warlock in wild. But my prediction is that Valdris Felgorge won't make it into a competitive deck.
I guess the card you're looking for is Gnomeferatu? Not quite the same. Actually the better comparison is Skulking Geist. In both cases the answer is no.
Interesting card, not sure it will see play, it’s horrible in the late game, and since it’s not reliably drawn at the beginning, there’s no guarantee you’ll get it in time to make a meaningful impact in the first few turns.
Could see play in Aggro Paladin or Secret Paladin, where the opponent would need to prioritize either the board that you are developing or having to deal one damage to face.
Obvious card for Even Handlock in Wild, might see play in Standard as well given how relatively easy it is to have a sizable hand as the Warlock. Reminds me of Spiteful Summoner, in a way.
So Sprint with a body and also increases hand size for huge synergy with stuff like Mountain Giant, seems pretty insane.
Ancient of Lore pre-nerf was huge, this is similar in a sense but with so much more potential. Also works quite nicely with Quest warlock shenanigans. I think this will be used in most decks just for the card draw, the secondary effect is just icing on the top.
Seems like a good card. Khartut Defender seems like the main choice if you want to eliminate more than one copy of something, otherwise it's mainly Rogue-on-Rogue violence we're talking about.
Obvious Handlock synergy, but I really don't get what Blizz is doing with Warlock right now since they've got like 2 cards each for 4 different synergies (Handlock, Dragonlock, Demonlock, and Quest/Shufflelock). Not to mention Lackey Zoolock is still "around" I guess?
Someone needs to pick a lane and stick in it or it's going to be another 4 months at the #9 spot for winrate and played decks (which hsreplay has it at right now) for Warlock.
The nice part about Warlock is that it is one of the only decks that can run disparate pieces and still have consistent synergy because of how many cards it sees during the game.
It's pretty likely that the deck that plays this also plays a dragon package because of twilight and the new breath card.
Until we see more, this deck probably still plays some manner of plot twist endgame...because that's all it really has right now.
But does it REALLY have *consistency*, even with all that draw?
I guess that was kind of my point in bringing up HSReplay/metastats - Warlock has been the single worst class for play % and winrate for the entirety of SoU & I think partly because none of the "menagerie" decks really have the kind of consistency necessary (in addition to the obvious overpowering of Shamanstone and the fact that few of the "resurrected" Wild cards really helped any main Warlock deck like they did Priest for example).
None of what we're seeing says that will change with DoD. Can you put together a Menagerie Handlock deck? Sure. Will it be any good, even as a meme? I'm thoroughly skeptical.
I said this in a comment on Valdris Felgorge: my guess is Shuffle Warlock was a bust, so Blizz is going back to old fashioned Hand Controlock NEXT YEAR and these two cards are the "first wave" of that so to speak. I expect April's expansion is going to be a lot more synergistic with that than DoD appears to be.
I think one way of looking at this is that every card in HS (and I guess most card games) that is any good requires some level of response or reaction from your opponent. If you play a card that they don't need to worry about, it probably wasn't worth playing. And remember that the 3/6 wasn't free, it cost a card, which is pretty big, and it cost uncertainty
It's assassinate on a stick with a situational upside. I think it will really depend on the meta. If there are a lot of applications or if the meta is slow and value oriented enough to make single target removal valuable it is probably going to be played. If the meta is very aggro I see less potential, I guess it depends on the rest of the set.
Seems safe to say though that treant druid might just have gotten its way to tier 0 blocked.
New Paladin Spell - Sanctuary
Easy to complete and good reward! I think it will see use in standard!
New Rogue Minion - Flik Skyshiv
Great card! The card itself would be great if its only effect was the destroy part. Destroying the copies is a great bonus!

New Warlock Minion - Valdris Felgorge
Interesting card, but not sure what to think of it yet. Maybe after the whole set comes out it will be easier to evaluate.
New Warlock Cards - Valdris Felgorge & Abyssal Summoner
My opinion will seem unpopular, but I rated 2 stars for Valdris Felgorge and 3 stars for Abyssal Summoner. Let me explain:
The biggest problem for handlock in standard is not value - it has a ton; neither is its hand size after turn 7; the problem is how it can survive against aggro prior to turn 5 and how it can turn the board over without a flexible card like Defile. Flik Skyshiv
....does....does wherever include the resurrection pool?
Signed: a concerned Anduin
New Warlock Minion - Abyssal Summoner
Not great in general, but devastating in Even Warlock in Wild!
Rogue Legendary Reveal - Flik Skyshiv
Love this card, OTK Paladins are no longer a thing once this card gets into play. I'm pretty sure rogues can out tempo paladins too.
Jade druids is finally gonna die out.(wild)
And no more N'zoth shenanigans,
or any rogue shenanigans with Togwaggle's Scheme
Rogue Legendary Reveal - Flik Skyshiv

Uldum Packs & Gold Brawl Compensation for Recent Hearthstone Issues
Got the gold about 5 mins ago, not the packs just yet
New Rogue Minion - Flik Skyshiv
Love this card, love the reveal video by Firebat. My wife primarily plays Pogo Rogue, so I can’t wait to surprise her with this card come December.
Not to mention all the combo decks. Great card Blizzard
New Neutral Minion - Zul'Drak Ritualist
Hell Yeah, a great card for Oaken Summons.
...other than that, it's a pack filler lol.
New Paladin Spell - Sanctuary

Its just not consistent enough
Abyssal Summoner
Obviously for use in hand lock alongside Valdris Felgorge, but I just don't think this card is really good enough, unless there is more support.
Mountain Giant seems to be preferable, but with more support this could be a strong power play.
New Warlock Minion - Abyssal Summoner

Sprint on a stick was good enough; adding in +2 to your maximum hand size is just a bonus. I expect to see a lot of this card.

New Warlock Cards - Valdris Felgorge & Abyssal Summoner
Wow... Such BIG, strong Hands...
New Warlock Minion - Valdris Felgorge
I love the idea of "breaking the rule" and holding two extra cards
Abyssal Summoner
Primordial Drake and Mountain Giant joined the party.
