Good thing the discover change was made AFTER it was relevant back in the day of Stonehill Defender automatically discovering 1-2 Tarims/Tirions 90% of the time it was played in pally.
Can we get a 'close' button on the mobile report feature though? If I accidentally click it the only way for me to close that screen is by pressing the return button on my phone, which sends me out of the thread.
So, even though the Rogue's alternative hero power reads "Add a card from another class to your hand", it instead gives you cards from your current opponent's class
Yeah, you'd need to do such much more rebalancing. It would also get to the point where Elusive minions would be either gamebreaking or terrible because of how limiting the mechanic would be, and if anything, restricts design space even more.
The reason the Sphinx can see the top library card is probably due to the idea of wisdom associated with the Sphinx. I think knowing what is coming is their way of showing wisdom or intelligence in MTG. As for the keyword idea, maybe Divine-warding? Instead of ending with ward, ending with ing makes it seem more permanent to me. That might just be me though
Well, dunno about you, but I'm glad that I won't have to deal with more than 2 Omega Devastators in a single game anymore.
I feel like I should clarify since it sounds like you're not quite understanding the change - you can still Discover class cards from Discover cards. They just don't have the 4x offering bonus they previously did, so you'll see them less.
You can definitely still see more than two Omega Devastators in a game, but seeing 4+ will happen a lot less often.
Yeah, you're right there. I hope you can still get some good use out of him, since I assume you won't disenchant. I unpacked him myself, and will keep him because of the no duplicate rule.
It is important to note too that I am not mad and I think this change is a brilliant way to bring down the power level of some cards without destroying them. It also hit multiple issue areas with one change.
I am sure I will still use armagedillo somewhere. Just might not recraft Dr. Boom like I thought and play control warrior. Maybe I will build a for fun taunt warrior deck.
I was curious about the discover mechanic and Flunky. It discovered Armagedillo so much. I guess this is a good change for the game but I am sad I won't get to drop 3 Armagedillo's in a single game anymore.
Not being able to drop 3 Armagedillo's in a game in healthy for the game.
Judging by the downvote people don't realize that I know that it is healthy for the game and I don't hold it against them. It is actually quite a smart fix to tone down some very powerful cards with one change rather than changing each card. I think it is a great change overall. I just will miss overpowered shenanigans.
Just to be clear: This was the right thing to do and I am glad they did it. It is better for the game and it is a great way to bring down the power of several cards without destroying them. I just personally feel sad by the change because I had fun with some of the craziness from weighted discover pools.
Did anyone else notice the patch that just came out?
Besides bug fixes and Tombs of Terror files there is one gameplay change - no more class bonuses for discovers. That is huge in my opinion! Control Warrior relies heavily on its discover effects - extra copies of Tomb Warden, Armagedillo, Dyn-o-matic or Omega Devastator are often crucial for the deck. Now Delivery Drone, Omega Assembly and Flunky all loose a lot of power. The deck is still likely very good against aggro, but should now have much bigger trouble in the late game.
What do you think about this. Is Warrior loosing even more of its power or is it fine just getting neutral taunts and mechs?
This is healthy for the meta. 3x Armagedillo in warrior is unhealthy.

Like Bersak said, cards with a specific discover condition (burgle, class spells/minions) won't get affected by this change. So let's exclude them from the list. I want to mention some (previously) popular cards, that will suffer from this nerf:
Wild now has the smarter deckbuilding functionality that can auto-build good decks!
This should be interesting. Really curious to see what the best wild decks are according to Blizz stats. Tomorrow I am going to have fun experimenting with the improved wild auto-deckbuilding feature. I will add some random cards like Renounce Darkness and see what the game has to offer.

This is a gigantic nerf to warrior, honestly it's a larger nerf than moving boom to 9 mana. You play flunky almost exclusively to discover the three taunts in the warrior class. Omega assembly and delivery drone discover less omegaLULs and tomb wardens now, which is pretty big.
Patch 15.2 - Discover Mechanic Changes, Tombs of Terror Prep, Wild Gets the Smarter Deckbuilder
But that only includes standard, in wild it's even better

Good changes in this patch. It will be interesting to see if some Discover cards fall out of favor because of the change.

Great stuff as always.

Dalaran Heist - "Yoink!" Hero Power doesn't work anymore
So, even though the Rogue's alternative hero power reads "Add a card from another class to your hand", it instead gives you cards from your current opponent's class
Hearthstone Hypothesis - Why is Elusive Not a Keyword?
That actually makes a lot of sense. Thank you.

How could I forget Stonehill Defender? Incredible card in Odd Pala back in the Standard days.
Secret Warrior Nerf?
Thank goodness. Warriors getting multiple frightened flunkys and multiple armadillo thing is really dumb
Patch 15.2 - Discover Mechanic Changes, Tombs of Terror Prep, Wild Gets the Smarter Deckbuilder
The main discover changes in standard when losing the 4x bonus to class cards:
Significant nerf to control warrior. Hits 2 legendary and 2 non-legendary staple cards.
Slight buff to rogue. Hiestbaron Togwaggle when getting Zarog's Crown legendaries. Less chance to see Edwin, Face Collector, Graal, etc.
