After the nerfs Hearthstone has felt much less exciting on a game to game basis. I think I expected a bigger change after the nerfs, but everything feels the same. The only thing I've really stopped seeing is Luna's Pocket Galaxy and everything else is the same. Does anybody have any suggestions? I'll take a deck to play, a card to build around, even just half an idea, I just want to enjoy the game.
Does anyone know if your opponent can see the spell you select with this card, even if it's a secret? I'm assuming yes, but haven't had anyone play it against me yet, so not certain.
It is the same as if the card was cast out of hand. So you see a secret is being played, but you will not know which secret (otherwise it would not be a secret right)
I say you got very good legendaries. Late game Ysera is a win condition, she can win games on her own when left unchecked.
Early game, Brightwing is an amazing card which gives you a free legendary draw and a solid body. It is so good that the new legendary card Zephrys the Great will always suggest you this one if you drop him on 2. That good it is! Basically the best 3-drop if you run a deck that needs a big hand size (for instance to make Mountain Giants cheaper). And it is also a fun card, since you get to play with all these legendaries! And the legendary can be from any class, meaning you can surprise your opponent, he has no clue what card you could play.
And, like everyone else said, never disenchant a legendary in the beginning! Both are neutral cards so can be put in any deck!
Are you sure about not keeping Glowstone Technician off the mulligan? It's such a key card that I'd certainly consider keeping it when on the coin and perhaps even when going first if I expect a slow opponent.
I'm wondering if it would be worth dumping the existing 2-drops in favor of Prince Keleseth. There are a lot of possible alternatives to Sandwasp Queen and while Grimestreet Outfitter used to be a core handbuff card, I think there are enough alternatives there as well (you mention Arena Fanatic although it is not in the current version of the deck). Does Keleseth break Crystology and Salhet's Pride or do those look at the printed card stats only?
both ysara and brightwing are pretty lucky pulls. especially if you are a new player at lower ranks. they both generate pretty good value.
you should never DE legendaries for three reasons:
it is bad value. you are losing what is approximately 1600 dust in value to get 400 dust.
you might open duplicates. if you own a legendary, you can never open another copy of it unless you own all legendaries from that set. so if you DE it you might open it later and that is bad value.
you never know what might be good. some legendaries are horrible but then later become very good cards. a good example of this would be Aviana, she used to be very bad when she was first released, but then later we got Kun the Forgotten King, who was able to refresh your mana crystals and then you could have all your minions cost 1 and all your mana left, which made a bunch of combo decks viable.
I have lost tons of dust from hastily crafting and disenchanting legendaries. you should wait until you have been playing the game for at least a few months before you start disenchanting epics and legendaries just so you can get better grips of whats good or not, and what legendaries might end up being playable, and of course, ask the community for advice when dusting or crafting legendaries.
Playing with this deck against token druid, managed to get some treants and a savage roar for the win. This deck is so funny please try if you want a laugh
the list already runs snake trap! I would use rat trap but I don't have it.
I will add SN1P-SN4P and see how it goes!
Oh you're completely right, apologies. I overlooked it somehow. Rat Trap is arguably the best hunter secret in standard though. I would strongly consider crafting it if you can afford it.
You'd be surprised how often people don't or forget to play around it, even at higher levels. And a 6/6 that can immediately attack on your turn is just insane. That damage helps a LOT in securing wins in games where you would usually fall short.
thanks, I have enough dust to craft an epic, I used to have rat trap but then dusted it like an idiot, I will probably end up crafting it.
I still think it is worth it to add in a misdirection simply because there are not too many secrets in the deck now, I will probably end up cutting a Desert Spear for it.
Infested Goblin does sound like a good pick to add cheap buff targets to your hand. Even better, it has taunt, so it helps you make it past turn 5, when your deck starts to shine. I was using Drygulch Jailor before, but neither that card itself nor the tokens have taunt, while getting three tokens instead of two can be a down side in the early game, since you might overdraw if you suddenly have 3 more cards in hand.
Lifesteal and handbuff go very well together. You of course already have Zilliax, but other cards you could consider are Paragon of Light, Vicious Scalehide and Chillblade Champion. I would recommend running one copy of Chillblade Champion for emergency heal, removal and surprise lethal. You could consider replacing Blessed Champion with this: while Chillblade is less explosive, it is more flexible.
I'm using Loot Hoarder instead of Meanstreet Marshal myself. It is less mana-efficient, but you can play it on turn 2 and not feel bad about it, while playing Marshal without a buff feels bad and using a buff before filling up your hand feels bad as well (to me, in any case).
Fight Promoter as draw is interesting. I assume she also triggers herself? If so, it wouldn't be too hard to get the battlecry, but still there is a risk that it will be a dead card if you draw your cards in the wrong order, which is exactly when you want to draw more. I'm using Acolyte of Pain at the moment, which can often draw multiple cards when buffed, but is still likely to draw at least one when not buffed. Like Loot Hoarder, it is a card you can play on the early board without hurting your game plan. Maybe one of each would be worth trying though.
I'd rather run Righteous Protector than Brazen Zealot, since it's more sticky. You're not looking to push a lot of damage early and once you do make your big push onto the board, a divine shield can be really annoying for an opponent to deal with.
It seems hard to get value from Barista Lynchen until the very late game, since if your minions stick around for a turn, you are probably already winning.
While Sally + Umbra is a nice combo, it is a combo of two one-of cards that aren't all that great when you play them individually. Sally really needed charge or rush to be any good and unfortunately Paladin doesn't have lackeys.
I have Sunkeeper Tarim in my deck, which at first glance seems to go counter to what the deck is trying to do, but he is great equalizing a board when an opponent is getting ahead of you, by dumping a few unbuffed 1-drops on the board and then setting everything to 3/3.
Not running mountain giant in deck with this much Hand presence is a a criminal offense
I tried Mountain Giant before in handbuff and while it should be good in theory, in practice your hand is often not completely full and while playing a giant for 5 or 6 mana is good stats-wise, you often want to be doing other things in those turns. Twilight Drake might actually be a better pick, since it can be drawn by Salhet's Pride. Turn 4 is a relatively weak turn for handbuff, since you have few 4-mana cards and you don't want to play multiple minions ahead of your buff turn, so having the Drake to play on curve would be useful.
Yeah, either remove Bronze Herald or put more dragons and Dragon Speaker.
In my experience Dragon Speaker is pretty bad even if your deck is half dragons. You want buffs to land on cheap minions and most dragons aren't cheap. Which is also the reason Bronze Herald is bad: while it adds more handbuff targets to your hand, at 4 mana each these aren't great to play.
Once you have all normal legendaries in a set, the next one is going to be a golden one. Once you have all normal and all golden for a given set, you start getting duplicates.
Maybe you've been very lucky, but I'm pretty sure this isn't true. You will just get a random legendary which has the same chance to be golden as usual.
Nah, i haven't reached that point yet.
But logic suggests that the rule applies until it is not possible: once you complete normal legendaries, there are still legendaries left in the pool (golden), so the rule can still apply.
My bad if that's actually wrong.
Sorry but it's wrong, in the rule of "no duplicates" normal and golden cards are the same, there is no distinction, so when you'll finish the collection the next legendary is going to be still random, golden or normal
Edit: OP, never disenchant legendaries, in particular legendaries from the classic set, you don't know when they'll be usefu, also because buff is now a thing in Hearthstone, so a bad card can become a good card

I enjoy the lightheartedness, beyond that hearthstone does touch upon some deeper storylines and exclusive introductions to new lore characters such as Lunara and the league of explorers (Reno, Finley and Elise). Eluding to deeper plots and hints such as Tirion Fordring - came out long before legion and I'm unsure if it was planned but his mechanics are a large giveaway to his and the Ashbringers fate. Makes me look closer at card mechanics and artwork from a lore standpoint, that's the only example I can think of for the moment but I'm sure there are more.
I enjoy the "what if" expansions like Knights of the Frozen thrones but I'd also like to see more storylines expanded upon, things they can't focus on in WoW for the time being. It's fantastic to see concepts fleshed out in hearthstone such as the Mean streets of Gadgetzan, incredibly set the scene for what could be added in-game in the future
Does anyone else feel like the Meta has gotten worse?

I kinda like the way they do them because mostly they are very entertaining.
So i hope they stick with it :)

Sadly, that's not the case.
