Fair enough, over-writing your quest reward with Hagatha's Hero Power is a gamble, but for a long game, I think I'd rather take the risk and generate myself 10-15 extra spells over doubling some battlecry. Any battlecry you feel like is totally worth keeping the doubled-battlecry for? With coin, I'd say Shudderwock, maybe?
I want desperately to fill the big empty hole GoT left into my heart... At least a bit. ;)
I have some cures for a GoT shaped hole in the heart
If you're looking for something with the same dark, nihilistic vibes and vulgar HBO flavor, you can check out Westworld. It also has beautifully elegant twists rivaling Ned dying in the end. Multiple POVs from a diverse set of characters competing against each other ensures you're guaranteed to find favorites (for you, I'd guess it'd be the unnamed CEO enjoying his company's own game. If only all gaming companies had such a cool CEO Kappa)
Similarly, American Horror Story is also dark and full of terrors twists. Those plot twists are less elegant and more for shock value, but what makes this series stand out is the lack of plot armor that I've only ever seen here and in GoT. Everyone can (and will) die. That said, it's not to be confused with an actual horror movie; this series has a plot of substance and the horror part is only for backdrop flavor. The recent seasons have become a bit too political for my tastes (maybe you'll like the MAGA vs feminists season idk) but because it's an anthology, that doesn't really effect the rest of the story
If you liked GoT for its complex Machiavellian politics and intrigue you can join "Littlefinger" in House of Cards. Unlike the above two and GoT, this series features only one main character but that certainly doesn't take away from its complexity. And just like GoT, this also went to shit when they stopped following the books
If you just want to watch evil mary sues rampage through a medieval setting like, dare I say, a certain Bolton, check out Showtime's The Borgias. There's also no shortage of Machiavellian politics and intrigue here but it's mostly simple, 20 goodmen type shenanigans. The pilot is a bit weak as they set up the story but it gets fun fast
Westworld seems good; never watched American Horror Story but I have heard a lot of positive things about it; watched some episodes of House of Cards and enjoyed them but for some reason stopped watching the series; and some people very close to me recommend me to watch The Borgias (Jeremy Irons is one of my favorite actors of all time :D).
Thanks a lot for taking your time to recommend me series according to my persona, NightCrawler, the fact all of them match my tastes and personality in some way is really impressive. :O I finally decided to give a try to The Borgias, it's time to start watching it. ;)
Board clears and silences exist in the game. Hell, priest has a card that does both.
Edit: This is coming from a person who makes plays mostly control decks when laddering. Control should wreck pally this expansion if played properly and your deck is built properly.
Quest Paladin: If there's something that gets broken because of a quest, I'm expecting it to be because of this. The Quest is difficult to complete quickly, but once it is complete, it becomes very difficult for the opponent to do anything about it. If someone is able to streamline the completing of the quest, I wouldn't be shocked to see this everywhere. That said, if the completing can't be improved, then it won't be competitive.
Right now I am using the deck shown below. I average completion right around turn 6, with perfect ones coming in at turn 4 with a lot of luck. Unless I am all sorts of unlucky, I am finished at turn 8 after the Ashmore draw. I don't know if you can expect to reasonably be faster than this unless you remove all tech cards.
The druid quest is stupid broken. Of all the decks I've been playing against, that one card had cost me so many wins. I'm not complaining, other than I want to craft it and is my previous dust I've been saving. But with all the cards in druids arsenal that are multiple choice, have a constant Fandrel on turn 4 is stupid gross
Prismatic Lens makes this card completely bonkers. The deck is heavily dependent on drawing Prismatic, but when you do, most decks don't have an answer.
I started playing this last night and went around 8 and 1 but since then it's been spotty. Even everything comes together it's a lot of fun but if you have some bad rng then it can a bit of a drag. Especially when your one win away from rank 10 like 3 times and you lose the next 5 games in a row.
Been having fun with Quest Paladin. Always liked Deathrattle minions and Reborn is basically the same thing. Making copies of stuff and creating a sticky board is a ton of fun. Only gripe is how boring and painful it STILL is to fight any type of Control Mech Warrior and it not mattering how scary your board is, it will still die to Warrior plain and simple. Quest Druid is also all over the place and seems really strong.
Moved to Off-Topic, probably should have been here long time ago :p
What? Off-Topic? Why? You are getting a lot of feedback for this amazing and wonderful new forum because all of this, moving this thread to the Off-Topic section doesn't make any sense to me... Could you explain your decision, please? I'm not going to tell you what to do, especially because you are a mod, but I would appreciate a nice explanation here. :) :) :)
We were getting some feedback at first, but it eventually took a turn, surprise surprise. Now you can continue in Off-Topic ;-)
If that is what the law says, I have no choice but to obey it!!! :) :) :)
I can't believe people are not only taking your post seriously, but mine too. I thought it was super obvious. How can this many people be so clueless???
Apparently not everyone can understand how serious you were being (which is not at all lol)
Well, people is just being, well... people. :P I upvoted your comment because you made me laugh a lot and knew you wasn't serious, but probably it should be the only upvote your post should have considering the circumstances. XD
Also, thanks for being with me all this time, I appreciate your company and support a lot. Seriously, thanks for everything, my dear NightCrawler!!! :D :D :D
Don't mind me, I'm a simple person; if something is entertaining, I'll be there. Thank you for making the place more entertaining. No one else could have generated several triggered posts from just a single misplaced "cute" in a comment
Edit: Now we have someone comparing you to robbers and criminals. Because of "cute". wtf xD
So, a little late for the Day 1 impressions, but I've been playing about with a few deck ideas I've seen rarely, if at all, but here's what I've found
What I've been playing:
Standard:
Quest Paladin: If there's something that gets broken because of a quest, I'm expecting it to be because of this. The Quest is difficult to complete quickly, but once it is complete, it becomes very difficult for the opponent to do anything about it. If someone is able to streamline the completing of the quest, I wouldn't be shocked to see this everywhere. That said, if the completing can't be improved, then it won't be competitive.
OTK Hunter: Lots of fun, not very good. Still, bursting out 30+ damage in charge minions is always fun. I've been using discounted King Krush (by Scarlet Webweaver), copied by Ramkahen Wildtamer, and buffed by Emerissif needed.
Quest Warrior/Weapon Warrior: A very pleasant surprise this one. Quest is easy enough to complete, and by having lots of weapons in the deck, it's easy to keep triggering the refresh. Armored Goon is a beast in the right deck.
Secret Hunter sucks, how am I supposed to play around 3 freezing traps by turn 6? Already triggered 2 different other traps. It really sucks to have no counterplay apart of playing around or trying to trigger them in the correct order!
this website doesn't lie, those are datamined information and if you can see those names are "onward uldum" which will be completed with a Tavern Brawl that is unique to this expansion. So probably those quests will be active next wednesday - when the tavern brawl will be reset- .
so, sooner or later we will get those quests and i am sure they are real quests. That's the mistake of blizzard to not release them all on first day of the expansion, instead of brawliseum not the mistake of this site.
it seems it is also not a mistake. Blizzard wants you to spend your golds into Brawliseum so you can buy more packs with real money and after you got what you need they will give you "free packs" next week as a dust source. :)
This site tries to give you all information which they can find and you are still whining about free stuff, can't you be respectful please ? And can't you use your brain a little to understand stuff that is written there? It needs a tavern brawl to be active. It is obvious.
Well, the rogue will have to spend mana to wield that weapon. Secondly, you can freeze it. Thirdly, you can destroy it so they have to use 2 mana again. So it can be irritating but it is not unwinnable.
Wow. Thanks for your insightful reply. I’m so glad that there are still people on the salt thread who try to reason infuriated people!

It doesn't look bad, but you are right, it's not related to my tastes... XD

Phaoris Prismatic Paladin
This deck is really fun to play thoug I did make some changes as I dint have all the cards.
Reno's Quest
Deck is working really well against controlled and aggro so far. 3-0 so far....

Reno Even Mage: This shouldn't work. It just shouldn't. It's bizarre, fun, and somewhat competitive, although not broken enough to win at top ranks. The discounted HP brings things like Ice Walker, Spirit of the Dragonhawk and Fallen Hero better, while Echo of Medivh, Youthful Brewmaster and Baleful Bankergive you extra goes on Kazakus, Reno (both of them) and Zephrys the Great.

Big Priest Murder Simulator
Oh, it's because sometimes Shadow Essence brings out Barnes or Weasel Tunneler and you might want to kill them instead of transforming them.
Hardly necessary, but I haven't regretted using it so far.

Seems like Tip The Scales surprised many of us in the most chaotic and destructive way. Oh, well at least you cant pull it of in Arena decks :)
