Yeah, even a card to restore 5 health to a friendly character would have been better than this. Would have rather seen a Flash Heal reprint as the replacement really.
I look at classes like rogue, which apparently supposed to have 4 major weaknesses and then see how other classes apparent intended fantasy is supposed to have maybe 2. Plus, I had to laugh at what T5 thought warlock was supposed to be 'weak' against. Warlocks are perhaps the most versatile class in the game when it comes to being able to make an effective deck from almost every single playstyle (aggro, midrange/tempo, combo, control, OTK) in both wild and standard to many degrees.
What are your impressions about the attempt to define HS class identity?
I agree.....it seems like the artwork for they added cards are not as good in cards released in sets. I thought the same thing with the added cards released already.
Yeah, i was wondering why you would see Hunter and Conjurer's call an issue but not Warrior that can pretty much play removal on curve nowadays removing a lot of skill from playing Control Warrior. But you already gave your answer!
I actually play Big and Control Shaman in the current meta; the games vs. control warriors are entertaining compared to murlocs and trees being vomited turn after turn. And I even play Conjurer's Mage (Kibler's big spell version from early in the meta rather than freeze version, to counter all the druid and murlocs). It is BS to start up a mountain giant factory that so few can deal with.
Warrior is good but has its limitations on tricks to make the game more interesting. I miss Control Warlock (occasionally play a variation in wild) and NON INNER FIRE Priest decks in standard. Inner Fire reminds me of the bad old days of me being a returning player with only Naxx cards and priest hella sucking in Karazhan era. Inner Fire on some high health mook is all you got.
Conjurer's nerf I'd pitch: Discounted cards get discounted minions in value (your 4-mana mountain giant brings back a pair of 4s). Have it work for Shaman as well with the discounts screwing up Big Bad Voodoo or even as an offensive way against Big Priest in wild cheating out bigs, using conjurer's calling on the 6-mana spell (if you're willing to gamble on 6-mana minions) or Barnes' accompanying 1-1 (which also features a 1-mana cost), all while screwing up the Priest's rez pool. I'm willing to take that gut punch for fairness.
I'm really enjoying the current meta. There is a pretty decent selection of decks, not a ton of polarization, and some of the top meta decks are really fun in my opinion. I love bomb warrior and cyclone mage.
It makes sense hunter is the most popular class among all ranks despite it not being "the best deck" or even close to it. Both of it's decks counter warrior well enough which is one of the top decks, and mech hunter is the easiest deck in the meta and one of the few true face decks. Mech hunter gets worse the higher the skill level goes (hasn't won a single match in GM) but on ladder the warrior matchup and non optimal counterplay keeps it afloat. It's definitely not hunterstone, but there are a lot of hunters.
Rogue is still super strong. As a lot of people thought, Rogue was so good it could be nerfed hard and still be a top class. Vendetta/Shark and Tempo Rogue are both great. Hooktusk Rogue seems mediocre to me but it seems to have the better winrates for Rogue decks. Surprising because it's warrior matchup is pretty bad but I also think the lists are more often refined whereas some of the other Rogue decks are non optimal on top of it having a higher skill ceiling.
I think the meta is pretty much figured out. I think there might still be something there with shaman, but I guess if nobody has found it by now it just might still be lacking.
Looks super fun! I'll give it a shot for fun. Pretty sure I have everything. Anyone else notice the card images don't have the expansion watermark? Weird.
And note that we're already getting the first hints of the next expansion, so we can barely get out the first reports of the new meta and discussions of it before it's time to GET ON THE HYPE TRAIN!
Do you think this time around the hype train can maybe derail a little and maybe people can "theorycraft" quietly and alone, isolated from the world
Bog Creeper saw a little amount of play in shaman a deck called "bog champ" I think so it s Stateline isn't bad do note that 5 attack is more or less equal to 6 in constructed as most stuff die to 5 damage.
It has demon tag, the board wide buff is ok but too awkward to use.. Important to note that this buffs the randomly generated 7 drop pool.
Decent card might see play cause it's a demon or taunt one day, too weak for wild but if this card was around in knights it was an auto include cause of guldan.
Aggressively too costly, Wisps of the Old Gods never saw play, even in token druid.. You don't value taunt that much on token druid since they want to clear your board
Maybe combine this with Lord Jaraxxus, which means maybe more Warlock decks will have Lord Jaraxxus again. It's a strong taunt and costs a lot, but if you have demons on the board already and you're holding a Lord Jaraxxus and your health is low, you could put this out there one turn, then next turn become Lord Jaraxxus and maybe finish off the opponent in a couple more turns. It looks to me like a way to stall when your warlock is dying and then whip out a can of Jaraxxus.
There are also some under-the-radar decks that aren't on VS that are a lot of fun and viable. For example, the play rate of Big Shaman dropped low enough that they aren't mentioning it on there, yet I'm having a blast and having a positive win rate with the deck at rank 5.
Overall, this meta has taken longer to get stale than any other. Blizz did a good job so far this year. Hopefully they keep it up.
it's a good thing to remember that the report isn't so much reporting the best decks as they are the most popular and how strong THOSE are against the rest. It's basically a mark of what you'll face in the meta and how they stand against each other.
This meta, though, has a LOT of room for counterdecks and counter meta play. Though it's very bad for folks that want to win 100% of the time and for folks with dedicated decks they MUST play for their own sakes.
So it's not that great as a Johnny unless you are Legend, but Spikes should be having a wonderful time at any point in the ladder.
As far as staleness, the single player, nerf and buff runs did a great job with that. By the time people got bored of things the nerfs were in. We didn't even have time to start complaining a before the buffs came in, and many were playing the single player (or grumbling while waiting for each wing) too much to worry about either.
And note that we're already getting the first hints of the next expansion, so we can barely get out the first reports of the new meta and discussions of it before it's time to GET ON THE HYPE TRAIN!
Awesome flavour from some classic lore and i do enjoy resurrect mechanics. This is a hell of a card, and just when i finally thought i had all the classic set.
I'll start by sharing some of my old favorites! However, I warn ya that these will be a little dated and it looks like a lot of my old favorites have been deleted from YouTube by now :(
Obviously there are going to be spoilers...

Anyone else think the recent post about class pros/cons is incredibly lopsided?

Stag Party (Odd Beast Druid)
I actually don't own Malorne either, but just included him on here for the Stag theme.
I'm just using a second Druid of the Claw instead.
Stag Party (Odd Beast Druid)
Damn. missing Malorne . I've crafted worse cards... Wonder if theres anything to replace it with...

New Neutral Minion - High Inquisitor Whitemane
nice card for swarm and token decks...
New Neutral Minion - SI:7 Infiltrator
Not great but not bad card too...won't see play anyway as it targets only one random secret...
New Warlock Minion - Siegebreaker
Bog Creeper saw a little amount of play in shaman a deck called "bog champ" I think so it s Stateline isn't bad do note that 5 attack is more or less equal to 6 in constructed as most stuff die to 5 damage.

New Druid Spell - Gift of the Wild
Aggressively too costly, Wisps of the Old Gods never saw play, even in token druid.. You don't value taunt that much on token druid since they want to clear your board
anyway 0/5 icicle levels of bad.
New Neutral Minion - SI:7 Infiltrator
Evergreen secret tech. Nice, always thought this was needed. Otherwise they need to keep secret related tech cards in every block
New Neutral Minion - Barrens Stablehand
Decent arena card.. That's it.
New Neutral Minion - Arcane Devourer
Makes generating a random elemental worse.
10 New Hearthstone Cards Coming to the Game, New Hall of Fame Additions
looks interesting another meta shake up, hopefully they realize these things are good for the game.

I am happy to see Brightwing finally make it to Hearthstone. Definitely random but also a dragon. I feel like we will see this around a lot.
