That would be hell of a twist. I don't play WoW in the official realms, but I just follow the story from time to time.
If all of the things mentioned in the OP are true, I can't see how Blizzard is going to explain this w/o causing any confusion among the players. How would Sylvanas being "Garrosh 2.0" right now suddenly become the misunderstood hero, who intended to save the world by preventing an old god's return? And there are characters like Saurfang, that would want to help her despite their recent conflicts?
One way to nerf the archetype without completely nuking it from orbit would be to have the game actually resurrect the dead minion rather than a copy of it. That is to say, if you resurrect your big dude and it's on the board, you can't resurrect it *again*, considering it's not dead, it's on the board. You'd have to wait for it to die before you can Res it again. While this wouldn't stop the deck entirely it would prevent it from turning one Lich King into many via Resurrect, Eternal Servitude& Mass Resurrect.
Alternately, if you just want to murder big priest, you could change resurrection effects so that a minion can only be brought back once.
That's a fair point, and I have to admit I haven't played anomaly mode that much, but that said, I don't see why it can't be both. The point you raise about a front loaded treasure making the adventure duller applies to the Rumble Run, where you had 3 variants per class for a total of 27 decks/treasures, but with the dungeon run/heist system all classes have access to any treasure, there are more treasures, not to mention multiple decks and hero powers, so you'd still have orders of magnitude more variation. I think with RR the railroading was the issue, not the front-loading.
Overall your argument is sound, and I do feel that sometimes the start of a new run can feel samey and boring - especially before you get that special "umpf" for the run in the form of a treasure or special card. I do feel however that you forgot to mention that, while indeed regressing in terms of getting the bonus after the first encounter - the developers did a great step forward in my opinion - in the form of the Anomaly mode.
While Anomaly mode doesn't really let you outright choose the bonus you start with - a lot of the time it REALLY mixes things up, to the point of making the first encounters really challenging and worthwhile sometimes. I feel this mode is a better compromise to just outright choosing the treasure or whatever right at the start, since it is always random and it forces you to deal with it and adjust your playstyle to the anomaly. Ultimately - I fear that simply front-loading the treasure would make the overall feeling of the heist duller, as people would immediately know what they are getting themselves into - and it would be easier to reroll into a preferred treasure, overall making people get bored of the adventure faster.
I've been playing the Heroic Mode of Dalaran Heist as my main game mode for the past month and a half, and while I do agree she feels stronger than the other bosses of her tier - she doesn't seem broken to me. I don't even mind seeing her as commonly as I do now, and while I have lost to her numerous times in the past - it was always due to me not being able to curve. I agree that these situations feel shitty, but at least you don't lose anything meaningful (you basically just click the play button again).
I would rather they balance some of the later bosses a bit - especially ones that are ridiculously one sided like facing Haro Setting-Sun with a swarmy deck, or the shenanigans Vas'no can pull off at the start of the match with triple overload + mana advantage.
While I greatly enjoy the dungeon run style of single player content, it always annoys me how boring and repetitive the first few levels are.
I think allowing the player to draft a treasure and/or 3 cards *before* the first encounter would create a lot more variety in that first game, not to mention allowing the first boss(es) to be buffed a little to actually make the fight interesting. Rhastakhan's Rumble took a step in the right direction by allowing the player to draft a loa at the outset, but even there the fact that each loa has one starting deck means that after a while the first encounters become boring and predictable. And of course with Dalaran Heist we went back to picking a passive treasure and cards after the first encounter, which IMO is a clear regression (that said, being given a choice of hero powers and starting decks is a definite improvement).
Now I don't expect the existing adventures to be substantively changed, but it'd be nice if the devs could front-load a bit more choice/variance at the beginning of the run in future adventures. It'd make the first few levels more exciting, greatly improve the replay value and make it easier to fish for certain treasures/comboes once you're at the point where you've already beat the bosses and you just want to try wacky stuff.
I hardly ever lose to Linzi and I've played a lot of Dalaran heist, so no, I don't think she's a problem. The first few bosses are tedious enough, at least with Linzi there's a remote chance she might win. It sounds to me like you might be misplaying the match; with a 5 health lead and the starting advantage, so long as you curve out on turns 1&2 and hit face you should handily win the vast majority of the time. Maybe if you get unlucky with a random deck you might lose due to a lack of early plays but all the standard decks have a curve.
Agreed, I've never lost to Linzi but she does feel a bit strong for a first boss that appears commonly. Perhaps they should make her appearance rate rarer (it's ok to have a boss that is significantly tougher than others in its tier if it is a rare one).
I see people complaing about different bosses being to strong, but for me the most frustrating boss is actually the 1st one: Linzi Redgrin. There are games that you cannot win against Haro (playing Murlocs or other "swarmy" archetypes for example) and sometimes P.O.G.O. just starts shuffling your Muscles into his deck only to draw them and beat you, but most of the bosses have that - a situation / set of draws in which they are insane. That said that is why you play Heroic - to feel to challenge of facing the more difficult bosses and try to make your deck OP enough to beat them.
Problem with Linzi is that usually, his deck is just better than your starting deck most of the time. Your only chance is swarming him and taking the board from him, which can be really hard since his curve ussually tops out at 2-3 mana and if he starts losing he goes all face. On top of that there are many versions that require different plays against them (against Edwin you should play your Convincing Infiltrator, but against the version with Gang Up! you need to hold it until Gang Up! is played). There have been runs when I wanted to try particular archetype (Kobolds desire, Bomb Warrior), but just wasn't able to get through him like 4-5 times in a row. I think the challenge should come only after you picked something for the deck and have your treasure not before. It is just such a feel bad moment to lose even before you have any chance to customize your deck.
I think he should be at least made into 2nd or more only boss so that you can have at least some treasure/advantage to use against him or his appearance rate should be lowered so that you wouldn't play him 5 times in a row. Especially given that ALL of the other 1st bosses almost can't beat you even if they are super lucky. Wendy, for example, has stolen from me Frost Lich Jaina only to be killed before she played it and played my Wrench-Callibur (basically 16 damage!!!) that also wasn't fast enough for her.
As long as Big archetype is viable, no other archetype will ever contest its dominance within the Priest and meta population.
BP is just too broken not to play it. I mean, it's not just its meta power (barely t2), it is exactly its brokenness that makes it extremely appealing: it's the pleasure of sh1tting in your opponent's face, regardless of the norms of the game (= a meme), and still win 1 of 2 games (= a meta deck).
And they should have learned by now that a Meme Meta Deck is a toxic paradox to keep in existance
No matter if a more efficient Priest deck ever exists (which should also compete against other t1 decks, in order to be decently appealing, and it's not easy), as long as BP is viable, it will dominate and warp the whole Wild population.
BP needs to be nuked to t4 (and it would still be an incredibly popular deck), either with a massive mana nerf on several cards AND/OR a complete rework of the broken Graveyard mechanics.
Then, and only then, other Priest will naturally emerge and develop (probably starting from Dragon Priest).
If anyone is still interested in World of Warcraft some interesting leaks just came out on 4chan. Some really interesting stuff. I will bullet point some of the stuff said.
Next expansion seems to be related to the Dragon Flights gaining in power again. Dragon Isles and Shadowlands
4 allied races seem to be coming. Vuperia and mechagnomes of course. And Light Forged Undead for Alliance and a Pig race that isn't Quilboar for Horde
Nya'lotha confirmed for 8.3. It's going to be 3 or 4 zones big similar to Argus size
Sylvana's end goal was to prevent N'zoth from being released
Suarfang is getting the axe this expansion to save Sylvanas it seems. Sylvanas risked her life to prevent N'zoth's full return. (she is also no longer the warchief next expansion)
The team is considering merging the factions when Baine becomes the new Warchief. Warmode off will allow you to enter Alliance cities as horde and Horde cities as Alliance.
If they go through with this plan it will also be possible to raid and join guilds with the opposite faction. When warmode is on you can kill the opposite faction again. (they might scrap this merger)
Level cap confirmed going back to 60 and the new expansion content will bring it up to 70
Tinker is the new class coming and it starts at level 50. Tank+healer+dps
They have confirmed new "class skins" coming to the game. They used Necromancer as warlock, and Dragonsworn for druid as examples. HOWEVER it seems you need to re level a whole new character to use these new class skins. As in you need to start at level 1 and make a necromancer instead of just changing your warlock.
Last he said the patch 8.2 is hitting the 25th this month.
Similar here. There is just something that doesn't feel right about Alleria running around with an axe and setting up explosive traps. Hunter seems like a brutal class that doesn't get represented correctly with an elf. Ol' Barkeye would be soo much better!
But if we were to get a Warrior hero I think I would rather want Dazzik. He is just great.

which dalaran heist hero would you want as a skin?
I'd definitely pick Rakanishu, but Squeamlish and the Gnoll are strong contenders as well. I find the warlock, shaman and warrior to be pretty dull.
