  • How Did Your Gamer Name Become Your Gamer Name?

    Quote From Skarsnik

My GT Is Nurgles Socks. (which is a name I created especially for Hearthstone, but is now my name in WoW and D3 and stuff as well as they all share 1 name. I typically choose a different name on each platform, so I'm something else on steam and then something else on Xbox live and again for PSN)

I just go by the name "Nurgz" mostly though for short. (at least in WoW where I actually have friends anyway)

The name basically came about because Nurgle is the God of Pestilence in Warhammer, so it's pretty filthy. Now there was this TV show in the UK called "The Young Ones" from the 70's and there's this bit where the character "Vivian" has sentient socks because they are that dirty. They basically come to life and start to terrorize the other house-mates in the show.

So I came up with the idea for a character that was basically the God Nurgles Socks that in the same vein as Vivian's Socks, had became sentient and were playing Hearthstone. So the idea is that if you are playing against me, you're actually playing against a sentient pair of socks once owned by the God of pestilence.

    You asked. Ha, Ha.

Now that had some thought behind it...nice

    Quote From cuekillar

My identity is a really old one. It came from my early days playing yahoo pool. These days I prefer to go by Cue but it's usually always taken or whatever platform I'm signing up to needs 4 or more characters minimum so I just go for the full name cue killar. Geez I've been called this for over 20 years now D:  I feel so old now!

Now you made me remember Yahoo pool...I used to love playing that (from another old guy apparently)

  • Mimiron's Head?

It's a funny card but nowhere near powerful enough to be anything other than a meme. There are much easier ways to set up much scarier minions nowadays. If your goal is to make highlight reel videos then by all means craft it, just don't expect it to be good. :/

  • I FINALLY REACHED LEGEND !

Well done! Yeah, there is definitely a skill prerequisite, but the grind is also required to get there. Day9 had some interesting comments about how he felt after his first grind to legend a while back (on YouTube).

I got legend for the first time in Wild earlier this year. Now I main standard, and I usually hit rank 3 or 4, but I’m not sure if I’ll try and make the push to legendin Standard due to the grind. It definitely felt good to get there at all.

Now my focus is on getting my last golden hero...good to have goals!!

  • Font Not Converting to What I Want in Deck-Guide Section

Sorry to bring old topic back because I don't want to create same new topic again. There's a font issue I noticed just now regarding "Numbered Lists": When I created numbered lists with Arial font type (or with any font type), font of list numbers look very different, as if they aren't Arial or other font type. It looks as if font of list numbers are locked to Default font type or something. I believe it's a trivial request from my side, but if you change its functionality, I will be very happy.

Thanks for your answer in advance and have a nice day!

  • Boring early levels (Dungeon run/Rumble/Heist)

From a lore/flavour perspective it absolutely makes more sense to get your first treasure after your first encounter. However, a choice of cards or minion-treasures prior to the first boss could be presented as recruiting a party. Heck, I think you could take that concept even further and have the player draft some or all of their starting deck from themed buckets (EG "Pick a healer" and you choose one of three minions with a healing ability. "Pick a tank" 3 taunts, etc.).

Regarding pacing, you're not wrong, but I think moving all the picks forward by one boss also has an advantage: oftentimes you'll never get to use your second active treasure because you draft it after the 7th encounter, meaning you have only one match to draw it. By moving it forward you get an extra shot at actually enjoying your hard-earned treasure. It's another minor thing that's always bugged me about the current format.

  • Hall of Fame Replacements Coming 'Very Soon' To Classic Set

    Quote From Chimera

They would replace classic cards that went to the hall of fame, like Divine Favor, Doomguard and , Naturalize most recently.

So basically they won't replace coldlight, molten giant,  azure drake , ragnaros , Slyvanas only the class specific cards.

"They would love to do at least one Heist hero as a playable character."

I would love to see Tekahn as a playable hero. After all, out of all the Heist heroes, he's the only character that exists in the Warcraft lore. And I'd love to see King Phaoris in HS one day as well. More Tol'vir plz!

isnt captain eudora in wow aswell

  • I FINALLY REACHED LEGEND !

I feel you anchorm4n :D I am really just gonna play some fun decks now as well I think. Im gonna enjoy this month while I am still Legend but after that Im just gonna chill in the ranks from 10 to 1 as well :D

  • I FINALLY REACHED LEGEND !

Thank you ! I wish you the best of luck to reach it as well ! :)

  • How to best react when your opponent has the nuts

    Quote From duppie

The best advice i've ever gotten/can give about hearthstone is to not be results oriented, be performance oriented.  Being good at hearthstone is skill dependent, but not always skill rewarding.  Sometimes you can make the best plays available and you still just have pretty much no chance.  It's a one on one game, so you are going to lose a lot, because only one of you can win.  If you focus on playing well, winning or losing is inconsequential.

But also, you should play your games out.  Sometimes you draw the nuts and still lose.   I can't tell you how many games I seriously considered conceding just to save time, but played the game out and won.  Always play to your outs.  If there is a way to win, even if it's low percentage, go for it.

Mmm. I find it difficult to play games out which started bad, I rather start a new one soon :). But I will take your advice and try to win anyway. Its amazing how boards can turn around sometimes

  • What can be done to steer priest away from just the rez/big strat?

How about bringing back exact copies of the Minion that died? So for instance, if you get a Lich King down to 1 Health when it dies, that's how it comes back. Still annoying, but a damn sight easier to deal with.

  • I FINALLY REACHED LEGEND !

    Massive congratulations!

Always nice seeing people sharing good vibes ^_^

  • I FINALLY REACHED LEGEND !

Congratulations, well done! I really feel you, just had the same experience last month with mech hunter :-) Such a great feeling!

What are your plans now? I have reduced my hs playtime a lot since reaching legend, playing only fun decks on ranks 5 and 4 (pogo rogue, jepetto hunter, face warrior). I also stopped playing casual because now I've reached my goal I no longer care if I lose in standard, so I can do the daily quests on ladder as well. If anything I'm looking forward to be thrown back to rank 10 or even higher because now I just want to enjoy myself and get some more golden heroes.

  • I FINALLY REACHED LEGEND !

Many congrats dude! That takes a massive amount of time and patience, no doubt. It's on my to-do list as well, but who knows if I'll ever find the time. Enjoy that feeling!

  • A "last post by" on the threads

I second that. It's really hard to tell if a new post has been added to a thread if the only hint we get is the time passed since the last one.

(For claritys sake: I have actually seen sintis answer, but I'm hoping for more support for this request which might lead to a higher priority on the devs list)

  • I FINALLY REACHED LEGEND !

Ladies and Gentleman I finally did it. After playing the game for about 3 Years ( I started in February 2015 but took a few longer breaks here and there, could never stop myself from downloading it again tho ) I have reached legend at last. I feel so uneblievably relieved my dudes you would not believe it... For all this time I allways told myself that I COULD do it but just wouldnt have the time... Still it allways stayed on my bucket list. I dont know why I am posting this, I kinda just wanna tell someone how good I feel right now. Shoutout to the three Endbosses I had to face until I finally did it.
But holy crap the grind is unreal I will never ever do it again haha.

By the way I did it with Zoolock for anyone whos interested :)

Have a good day, thank you for reading my little Monologue !

  • Boring early levels (Dungeon run/Rumble/Heist)

That's fair. But I always feel like the structure of the dungeon-style adventures is good the way it is - for the first few runs. Maybe a good compromise would be to unlock the choice of treasure at the start after some conditions have been met, i.e. beating the wing once \ a few times or completing certain objectives or whatever. It might even be fine on its own, I really don't know - and would actually like to play-test the feature you are describing.

Another point that just came to me is the spacing between meaningful progression - since these dungeon-styled adventures seem to be based around the 8 boss system (and this seems to just be a blueprint they have used since it was first introduced - thus less likely to change) - it means that if we choose a treasure earlier, the time between each "special" deck altering event (i.e. treasures, special cards, taverns) is increased. It may be fine, but I fear that it may cause certain portions of the run to feel like they lack meaningful deck-altering progression, and just feel dull with only card buckets available in between fights.

At the end of the day - I don't feel like we have enough info to go on. It would of course always be nice to have more features - these allow for greater customization and increase replayability exponentially, but on the other hand - I think that the current form of the heist is ultimately very enjoyable as is, and I'm a bit too afraid to temper with it (especially since it can be way WAY worse than it is now).

  • World of Warcraft leaks

I'd really like if they found a smart plot twist to save Sylvanas from being a stupidly hateful character, although it's pretty hard at this point?

Anyway Sylvanas does not deserve the Garrosh treatment. At all.

I am also really intrigued by Nya'lotha. It may be a masterpiece, worthy of the Lovecraft lore. I wish it was released when i was still playing wow.
