i cant find a new artwork for Advance Wave

  • One-Set Wonder - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

This comp requires pretty good memory!

    • Ferocious Wildcat supports Un'goro Quest Druid, like Giant Anaconda or Elder Longneck. Not sure if its powerlevel is appropriate, I tried to balance it around Illidari Felblade. The wording is also a bit strange, but I couldn't find a better way to phrase it.
    • Deathmetal Encorer supports Deathrattle DH, which hasn't been developed outside the Barrens. I tried to give it the same edge Deathrattle DH has had so far, which is cheating out the Deathrattles.

EDIT: small changes to my cards that don't deserve a new post.

    Show Spoiler
    • Ferocious Wildcat is now a 5/3, up from a 5/2.
    • Deathmetal Encorer is now a 6/4, up from a 5/4. Also, he now has a different artwork, as the previous one was used by Mordresh Fire Eye.

  • Rewards Track: Current progress 6.0

Made a nice jump on the track yesterday with Noz and weekly quests, up to 53. As lvl 50 reward I got the guy on the very top of my wishlist: Kel'Thuzad, the Inevitable. The early track legendary was Orion, not as playable.

  • How to Complete Castle Nathria's Hunter Achievements for Rewards Track Experience - Great Deck Lists!

    Quote From h0lysatan

"If you own Huntsman Altimor, this is one of the easiest achievements of the entire Castle Nathria set.....",

and here I am waiting on the next set of paragraph saying, "And if you don't, then.....", because I don't have him, and I don't really think I wanna craft him with dust because his achievement is quite easy. I literally have no idea how to discover a Legendary Hunter card with no tags, and the chance of stealing him using other classes is way too slim.

PS. And before you asked, nope, I also don't have that paladin card that gives Legendary Invitation either.

    Going to sit here waiting.

Hey there, let me try to help.

"And if you don't, then....." .....simply play casual Duels. I know the mode isn´t fun for many people, but that´s exactly where I do all of my achievements, without any drawback. I don´t own Huntsman Altimor either, but you can easily find him in buckets while playing Professor Slate - I did the achievement that way. Just make a starting deck with all the hunter cards from Castle Nathria you have plus some other for other achievement you need to complete and you should be good to go. It took me maybe two or three tries to get the right bucket (I think it´s called The Little Bites), but meanwhile I could complete other achievements just by playing, so it´s up to you if you want to try. Other than that, there is also a new treasure in Duels you can find which gives you Legendary Invitation to the deck so that is another way you can discover either Huntsman Altimor or other missing Legendaries. Hope this helps. Cheers!

  • [Updated] Upcoming Hearthstone Hotfix Patch for Castle Nathria - Guff Banned From Duels, Arena Balance, Returning Player Decks, & More Bug Fixes

Just to be on the safe side, they *might* remove it with tomorrow's patch. However, to not make matters worse and causing headaches they probably just let people keep them this time around(what they should've done with Dustgate). I don't know. I'm just skeptical when it comes to free dust and Team 5.

    Get your one-set wonders ready!

SI:7 Scout is fairly explanatory. SI:7 support for Rogue.

Commander Akrula is something for Big Demon DH, and there are quite a lot of Demons that work well with her (and end of turn effects will still activate), but it can also be used as a tutor for any large Demon even if they have a strong Battlecry (which there surprisingly aren't any for DH or Neutral other than debatably Sathrovarr, but that doesn't mean more can't be made) since it can be used once it's returned to the hand.

  • One-Set Wonder - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

There have been some lone damaging Arcane spells in expansions, but the rest are from Classic/Basic and there have never really been any direct synergies within Druid. Since Moonbeam was recently printed, I do suspect the developers might add some support for the archetype in the near future.

It's very basic. I'll try to come up with something more interesting tomorrow.

  • One-Set Wonder - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

My early idea was to support Mechlock, which despite being an actual archetype back in GvG only received one support card meant to go in the deck (Fel Cannon). Supporting an archetype that has practically nothing in it is a challenge, but maybe I found a way: by marrying it to an existing archetype that gets supported. And by that I mean Discard.

Jaraxxus, Metal Mayhem has a couple things going for him:

    • Ashes of Outland had Discard support in Nightshade Matron and Hand of Gul'dan, so it's not out of nowhere gameplay-wise. Also has a spicy target in Supreme Abyssal.
    • The Rusted Legion was a thing, as well, so the flavor isn't completely off track either.
    • The Fel Blasters mimic the nature of Fel Cannon, so it harkens back to the sole original card in the archetype :D
    • Just to be clear, "put its soul into a Fel Blaster" is a fancy way of saying "summon a Fel Blaster". You are getting the minion on the table.

The location, Abandoned Laboratory, was my first creation before I went with Mecha-J. It has the same "put souls into Mechs" flavor, just on a smaller scale.

I don't have any cards right now, but an important note of this competition is to be mindful of where you place your card. Since your archetype has only been supported by one or two sets, its important to consider the context of where your card is that supports it.

This is less of a concern for something based on minion types, spell schools, or card sizes since more of those can always be printed at any given time. But for things like Soul Fragments, the mechanic itself only exists in one set, so your card placement is extremely critical.

Landmarks were a failure for a VERY long time. And even now landmark removal is rare and many regions do not have decent landmark removal still.

I am not sure if landmarks were the game's savior they were in the end just the equivalent on mtg's enchantments that... well also in mtg are mostly forming annoying/degenerate decks when they are competetive.

In the end I miss LoR origins and I never has a fan of landmarks but then I was never a shurima fan and proably never will be

    Competition Theme: One-Set Wonder

Sometimes your favourite new archetype just doesn't get a chance to shine - so let's fix that!

    • You must create a card which supports an undersupported existing archetype
      • Think something like the classic meme of Freeze Shaman, which for a long time only had one expansion of (mediocre) support and only recently was revisited. Use that as a rough guide - if it's been supported for more than two expansions, it's not undersupported!

Moondreamer has asked us to look to the past and find our favourite archetypes to show some love to this week!

As always, I can be reached through Discord or here on the site via PM if you have any issues to report.

  • How to Complete Castle Nathria's Warlock Achievements for Rewards Track Experience - Great Deck Lists!

To complete An Imp-ressive Feat quicker, I would suggest to run 2 Youthful Brewmasters in the regular aggro build. You do not need to run all of those defensive cards plus having to set them up. This version is also capable of getting that same 12 procs on the achievement whilst maintaining a high winrate. Just trade more often instead of going face all the time.

Adding Zola the Gorgon would increase the total to 16 procs per game, but that is just overkill and not very likely to happen.

I have the same issue on my google chrome browser. I first noticed it somewhere before Nathria launch.

  • Legends of Runeterra's Next Expansion Releases This Month - Five Champions, New Card Type, & More

It's always a bumpy road when a game experiment with a new type of card or mechanic but in the end that what keep the game fresh and interesting, at least in my opinion.

  • Upcoming Hearthstone Nerf Leaks Confirmed by Blizzard - Celestial Alignment Changed, Buffs to Paladin, Warrior, & More!

face it bud, theres literally always going to be comparatively uninteractive decks, because there will always be people that have fun playing them, as well as certain lists that require actual skill and critical thinking to play well with (e.g. pillager rogue, turtle mage, mill rogue, topsy priest etc.). just because you throw a hissy fit whenever you play against a certain deck doesnt immediately mean that deck needs to be stamped out of existence; it could mean more interaction with that deck's main mechanic should be printed (e.g. okani) or that you're playing the matchup wrong, or that your deck isnt very good in that matchup.

magic: the gathering's system of making it easier to interact with combo decks through counter-magic would serve as great inspiration for better combo interaction in hearthstone, though it would need to be balanced differently since combo decks in mtg can often afford to play into a counterspell due to being able to run 4 copies of each card.

either way though, quest mage is nowhere near as strong in this meta as it used to be, and to act like the mage quest is anything less than beloved is disingenuous. exodia mage was arguably the most beloved deck in the game before apprentice was nerfed and copying the reward became the norm.

  • Legends of Runeterra's Next Expansion Releases This Month - Five Champions, New Card Type, & More

New card type sounds ominous. Landmarks were very poorly implemented originally. Early landmarks were either entirely inviable (Vaults of Helia, University of Piltover), oppressive (Grand Plaza, Veiled Temple), or just plain toxic (Star Spring, Bandle Tree). Some early landmarks were inviable AND oppressive (Sun Disc), at different points in time.

While they did eventually settle on a formula that mostly worked in Countdown landmarks, it was a bumpy road to get here, and my guess is that we've got another bumpy road ahead with the new card type.
