I think Landmarks would be more fun if they naturally Crumble in 4 turns. (self-destruct)
Targon's Star Spring Landmark could be changed to:

Now what does that (well used political) strategy to do with LoR?
Now: we usually show flag at the start of the game as we show regions and Champions that we use.
There have been some decent championless decks in the past and thought myself: why not going false flag with your deck?
You pretend to be another deck by putting established Champion combinations into a deck (as a 1 off ofc) and build your deck in an absolute opposite flavour to catch people offguard.
For example: you pretend to be control as Swain Twisted Fate but play Pirate aggro.
But what about you: have you encountered these decks already, do you like the idea, do you think it is worth it to build and play such decks?

Try to add cards and the minute I try to add a 3rd region it errors out saying "you can't add more than 2 regions"
What gives? How the f am I supposed to create a singleton deck? (I wasn't playing LoR last time there was a singleton gauntlet, didn't have time to play, so I apologize in advance if this has been answered before).

We had some unintended downtime this way-too-early morning. Because this kind of stuff always interests me, and transparency can be fun, let's see what went wrong!

2:43 AM - Out of Cards goes offline.
2:49 AM - A service unreachable email gets fired off.
This email did not trigger the alerts that it should have. Since we did a site migration a couple of months ago, our tech for that changed and was never tested. Pfft, downtime. That'll never happen!
3:01 AM - The messages begin to hit me on Discord and Twitter.
See, you don't need proper downtime checks!
3:03 AM - Investigation Begins
3:19 AM - Problem Discovered
Our container service decided it wanted to do an automatic update. That really should not have been an issue but because the containers running our site were not set to automatically restart, the site went down.
3:22 AM - Site comes back online
Updates for the service have been disabled - we'd rather manage these ourselves anyway.
What We're Changing
Obviously, our big issue is that our app containers didn't restart themselves. That's shitty and a huge oversight. A configuration change will go out in the morning that will resolve this.
The secondary issue is garbage monitoring of the site. There should be some serious alarms going off when stuff goes wrong. I'll make sure we have better processes in place going forward to notify of downtime.
Hopefully there isn't a next time!

So after a long time of contemplating I have decided to actually just quit Hearthstone altogether. I have done this once before back in April but I came back out of boredom (and because the new expansion looked pretty good). HOwever, I can…
So after a long time of contemplating I have decided to actually just quit Hearthstone altogether. I have done this once before back in April but I came back out of boredom (and because the new expansion looked pretty good). HOwever, I can no longer play this game while keeping my sanity and it has become a huge time sink for me.
Basically my reason for leaving once and for all is this: The game has become way too....one sided? Basically over the past year swing turns have become more and more important....and this expansion is by far the worst. Basically every single class in the game has one or more brutal swings that either need an immediate specific answer or else the game is decided on the spot. Classes that don't have this resort to pure aggro (DH and Hunter for instance).
Essentially Hearthstone has turned into what I quit Legends of Runeterra over. A game where answers are sparse and a single play decides the game instead of multiple smaller ones.
To illustrate my point here's the summation of class dynamics right now:
Druid: Ramp to 7, get GA and win from there. If it gets dealt with use one of your many other game ending combos or cards to win. No real actual strategy involved, just play whatever you have in hand that keeps you alive or puts big stuff on the board.
Hunter: Doesn't have crazy swings, so burning your opponent to death is the way to go. Single player game because all you need to do is get as much damage in as possible.
Mage: Cyclone MAge is all about getting Mana Giant out as fast as possible. Highlander Mage is literally just an RNG fiesta at this point.
Warrior: Bomb Warrior is probably the only real control deck left in the game and its gameplan is literally to just spam bombs that your opponent can't interact with. Who thought combining Resident Sleeper Warrior with Face Hunter was a good idea?
Paladin: Between Alura and Argent Braggart they just generally tend to have better plays than everyone else on curve. If you fall behind you're not gonna catch up
Demon Hunter: pretty much just Hunter's mentally deficient brother. Ironically enough, probably the most "interactive" of the bunch and they still win by just going face
Shaman: Even the worst class in the game relies on sticking a totem on turn 2 or 3 and winning from there
Priest: plays a bunch of reactive garbage, but they can steal your stuff for 5-mana now and that's how they win.
Rogue: Their strongest deck revolves around playing minions that most opponents can't reasonably interact with. Any deck that doesn't is much worse by comparison
Warlock: literally got nerfed because all they did was swing the game by turn 3 in Wild. Will probably not even exist anymore in Standard afterwards.
I've tried just memeing and having fun and not taking things too seriously, but you can't have fun with slower decks or play for value if you either die inevitably or get curbstomped by turn 7.
What I used to enjoy about HEarthstone was the constant back and forth. Threat - answer- threat - answer - etc. If one player didn't have an answer they fell behind and had to find a way to deal with the situation which eventually decided the game. Sure, RNG was always a factor that could radically change results but there was always this sense of having an out (at least for most normal decks)
I just don't see the point in playing a game where every match boils down to: "Oh look I had a great mulligan, guess I win" or "Oh look I didn't draw my cards in order, I guess they win instead". And I know, things can always change and balance patches have been more frequent....but I really REALLY don't believe this current meta can even be fixed at this point. They would have to nerf basically every single class in some way and even then all that would do is tip the scales in some classes' favor.
Note that this isn't some sort of attempt to convince anyone to also quit the game. I'm really just trying to write down my own thoughts as a some sort of a final nail in the coffin. If you still enjoy this game then I envy you, but I just can't get the same kind of enjoyment...not anymore.
TL;DR I have made peace with the fact that this game isn't going in a direction I want it to and I'm tired of having to hope every single expansions and rotation that maybe things are going to be different this time around and always being disappointed.
Initially I wanted to go for a really melodramatic approach of dusting my entire collection and then spending said dust on crafting all my faavourite cards from the past in golden as sort of a memorial, but I don't even have the motivation for that anymore. I'll just let the account rot.
I do feel kind of sad about the fact that I won't really be interacting with you people anymore, because this site has a pretty neat community and I've always enjoyed posting here. I guess you can take this as my final farewell. Perhaps digital card games just aren't my thing.
Maybe some day the stars align and we're blessed with some sort of meta that recaptures what the old days were like...but right now I can't see that happening until this entire year has rotated.
Anyways, take care guys, I'm gonna miss you at least a little bit. Shitpost on balance patch posts in my stead.

He has bonus health to sustain an aggro push till he can start puking out his boats and eye of the storm. As if that wasn't bad enough he has lifesteal with walking fountain and earthquake to wipe the board. Then we have a terrible hero power it cant kill the boats by itself and it's random which is even worse. I could probably elaborate more but I can't really remember what else he pulled on me.

- Added card subsets.
- We now flag cards based on two sets. Their primary set (Such as Call of the Mountain) and their expansion (Such as Monuments of Power)
- If you search for Monuments of Power cards on the database, you'll only see those cards.
- If you search for Call of the Mountain cards, you'll get COTM and MOP cards combined because they are from the same overall set.
- We're also including MOP cards within the main COTM set guide.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the "Has Guide" filter on decks for Runeterra and Hearthstone.
- Previously, if this was unchecked and you used any other filters on the page, it would not include decks that had a guide, only showing guide=none decks.
- The functionality is now the indeed of:
- Has Guide Checked = Only shows decks with written guides.
- Has Guide Unchecked = Shows decks with and without guides.
The Riot API
We have starter access to Riot's Match API. We've begun collecting some data as a test and are working on formatting it. Here's the phase 1 plan.
- We'll let you tell us what your Riot account name is (Such as Fluxflashor#NA1)
- We'll sync your matches and match data from Riot's API.
- We'll display your matches and give you some basic, personalized stats on a dedicated page.
- We'll give you the option to make your match stats page public. Private is the default.
- All data we will display on the site will be anonymous unless you opt-in to showcase your matches on your public profile.
Phase 2 is more stat details.
- On deck guides, we'll tell you what the winrate of a deck is using data we've compiled.
- We'll let a deck author decide if they want us to publish their personal stats on a specific deck they submit to the site. This would appear above the guide that they may or may not write.
I don't have an ETA on it all. We need to get further approval from Riot to increase our API limits. As of now, we can only collect data for 100 matches every hour, which is the match history for 5 different accounts. It isn't great, but we understand they need to do this.

It’s the third ladder climb in the Scholomance academy and I gotta say, there are still some things to discover!
We all know the top dogs by now. Different variations of hunter, libram paladin, tempo mage, a couple rogues and DH of course.
In grand masters, druid and bomb warrior see a lot of play but I haven’t seen either of those in probably 20-30 games on ladder. Tbh, I don’t know how good these decks are right now. It may be just a tournament meta thing..
To spice things up, I prefer playing T2 or even T3 decks and I am time and time again surprised how strong those decks can be! Currently I am having minor success (but success nonetheless!) with big warrior. I had pretty good runs with Galakrond warlock and spell shaman as well the last couple weeks. To clarify, I’m generally ending the season around the legend ranks 2-5k, and use these decks to climb in diamond.
I can highly suggest, checking out those underdogs more often. For once, I think there are hidden a couple real gems that are immensely underrepresented.
And second, it’s baffling how many opponents struggle against unknown decks. The amount of misplays i witnessed after playing bulwark of Azinot is way to high.

I've tried a lot of different versions, some that are more midranged with Dragon synergies, some that are more aggressive with lots of 1-drops, but I keep finding that they just don't cut it. They're not fast enough to be consistent against control decks, and the other classes that support aggro and tempo decks are often better at it, so if you don't have a 1-drop into Power Word: Feast as your opening play, you're often dead in the water. Relying on getting at least one cheap buff in your opening hand has been a struggle.
