I know this will be a moot point in a few hours, but it's driving me crazy. A lot of people are misinterpreting the text or are just puzzled by it, when it seems pretty clear to me.
"Once you've cast a 6+ cost spell this game" is a binary condition. Either it has happened, or it has not. It doesn't have to happen while the Mageseeker card is in play. Once the condition is met, it affects all Mageseekers in your deck or in play for the rest of the game, but only once. The effect does not repeat if you cost more big spells.
If you cast a 6-cost spell on turn three, every Mageseeker/Voltician you ever summon will come into play with the kicker activated.
If you play a Mageseeker/Voltician before casting a big spell, it doesn't get the kicker until you do. Obviously, if the unit is killed before you can activate the kicker, it doesn't matter for that particular instance of the unit.
In summary, casting the big spell only needs to happen once, at any time during the game, but casting more spells does not reactivate the effect.

As the title implies, I've seen a few images and videos of the game, but my interest is piqued regarding the game.
What are some draws to this game versus Hearthstone? (As someone who has played HS since it's beta)
I guess I'm asking for Pros and Cons. How easy is it to gather a viable collection as a casual player versus Hearthstone? (I buy the 80 dollar expansion pack in Hearthstone each expansion, I'm fine with that, but want to get a comparison on cost analysis between the two)
What are your favorite moments of Runeterra? Also, I don't plan on stopping Hearthstone, I think they both are probably fun games in different ways, but I'm curious if it's worth investing both time and/or money into Legends of Runeterra at this time.
Thanks in advance!

Since it will be introduced in the next xpac, will it only have 1 set?

Or will blizzard retroactively print new cards for the year of the dragon for the DH class?

Hey all. Somewhat large site update went out today.
Guides are referenced below but aren't fully available quite yet - we've got a lot of work ahead of us!
New Features
General
- You can now quickly send a direct message to another member via their site profile page or on any of their comments / forum posts - Look for the envelope/message icon!
Hearthstone
- Class Portals!
- We now have dedicated pages for all classes.
- You can find the latest decks, news, forum threads, guides, and more for each individual class. Here's the Demon Hunter Portal.
- These are linked under the Guides section of the navigation. This will go live on Tuesday later in the day.
- Demon Hunters
- Ashes of Outland
- Pushed out some early assets for the expansion. Waiting on Blizzard to reveal official art.
Changes
General
- Added the profile header rewards that were missing from Pi Day 2020.
Hearthstone
- Patch pages will now display collectible cards added in each patch alongside their flavor text. Do note that many of our patches don't have the cards correctly associated with them, so these may not be immediately available. Thanks!
Runeterra
- Card lists on deck pages now showcase the region each card belongs to, like the deckbuilder.
- [145] Deckbuilder now displays a breakdown of the card counts for Champions, Units, and Spells.
Bug Fixes
General
- Fixed the search page search type filter from having the wrong type selected when using the search box in the header.
- [12] Changed "Active Threads" to "Recent Threads" on the forum main page to be more consistent.
- [115] Clicking on a link that "jumps" you to content on the same page no longer covers the heading name or element with the navigation on mobile.
- Navigation animations no longer take so long to complete. Sort of a change and not a bug fix, but the nav has been frustrating for some of us and you so we'll call it a bug =)
- [105] Fixed an issue where you were unable to vote on an object after a comment was posted.
Hearthstone
- Fixed an issue where you could not filter by multiple expansions on the card listing when a single class was selected.
- [67] Database pages with pagination (cards, decks, etc) now have top and bottom pagination. Previously was bottom only.
- Fixed an issue with competitions sorting incorrectly on the competition list.
- Fixed an issue that prevented Demon Hunter decks from saving correctly.
- Fixed multiple issues that could cause the deckbuilder to fail to load cards due to "bad" data being input.
Runeterra
- [67] Database pages with pagination (cards, decks, etc) now have top and bottom pagination. Previously was bottom only.
- [146] Fixed an issue where the deckbuilder was not saving the archetype field to the deck.

I absolutely loved:
- The Kalista rework. Honestly, she might be a little too good now, but as much time as she's spent in the dumpster Girl could use a little time to shine. The best part is: it's not just good, its novel. My mind is already spinning on all the ways to possibly abuse her L2 ability.
- Mageseekers rework. The whole "discard a card" thing was really discouraging, so I love that they dumped it and now made it more fun. Props for making them all reactive, too, since pretty much every 6+ cost spell is something you want to play at the right time and not just as an activator.
- The Rummage change. It sounds like a small thing, but honestly most successful Jinx decks will cut this card because it absolutely sucks to "lock up" your hand. But even bigger than the specifics is how they are proactively bandaging this very niche scenario. It shows a familiarity with how an off-meta deck performs and nourishment to want to essentially "unburden" it without necessarily buffing it.
I liked
- The down-tuning for Black Spear, Crowd Favorite, Chump Whump, and MotI. All essentially went from "Why wouldn't you run 3x of this card?" to "Are you sure this is the best card for you?", which is exactly what you want from a balanced card game.
- The up-tuning on Brood Awakening, Poro Snax, and Iceborn Legacy. The latter 2 are opening up new possible archetypes; the former is giving some deckbuilding flexibility to what is currently a very narrow archetype. Kudos all around.
- In general: how this was a regularly scheduled balance patch that shook things up, and now I'm already excited for / dreaming up totally new deck archetypes. Compare this to other CCG games' who will remain nameless' balance patches, where effectively announcing which Tier One decks are now dead and leave me waiting to see what inevitably fills the power void.
I'm not sure about
- Pack Mentality. I do like that its less confusing now, but this is really just feels like a variation on For Demacia. It's uninspired brute force. Plus: I'm still not sure who's actually going to run it. Decks that run wide, sure, but that's usually not Frejlord. Maybe someone that wants to make use of Unscarred Reaver and Scarthane SteffanBADCARDNAME outside of a subpar Vlad deck?
- Troop of Elnuks. The chance of a complete whiff on this card (not adjusting for what you've drawn or if you've copied) is roughly (34/39)^N, where N is the number of cards, so the change goes from a ~25% chance to a ~44% chance. I'm guessing that's enough of a swing to scare off meta decks from just splashing it, but it doesn't feel comforting. I do like that they identify preservation of the counterfeit coin strategy, but honestly if that trick wasn't working at 10 cards I don't think it will get any more popular now.
- Flash of Brilliance. The bigger thing to me was the free mana, so I'm really disappointed they didn't at least make it a 4 cost spell.
I'm disappointed with
- The Vanguard Lookout "buff". Boring, and ironically he probably still isn't going to see play because there are better 2-drops for elites. If you want to make people play him, he needs some interesting tag or ability.
I can't beleive
- That Hecarim "nerf". He's even more disgusting on a Harrowing now, I don't think reducing his damage by 2 is going to slow him down. Really should have been either an increase to 8 mana or a removal of Overwhelm tag IMHO.
- Rekindler. I actually really like that you can rez champions; what I don't like is that this is so often double-digit stats for 6 mana--raising to 7 doesn't hurt the bottom line enough. IMHO, should either be a smaller body or changed to rez the weakest champion so you need to build your deck more carefully if you're just going to cheat out infinite Hecarim / Garen / Ashe / (Kalista ;-) ) etc.
- No change to Shadow Assassin. This card is just disgusting, and its the lynch pin of all elusive cancer decks. I do appreciate that they at least identified it and played around with some of the numbers, but not converging on any actual changes is a huge miss IMHO.

It looks like Demon Hunters are going to be synergizing with cards that gain power or trigger effects based on whether or not they have attacked this turn, which plays well into their Hero Power design. With it only requiring 1 mana, we'll likely be making frequent use out of attacking with our hero.

Are both cards for Demon Hunter that appear in their Basic set and highlight the hero attack mechanic. We've also got two other basic cards that buff your Attack.

I for one am excited to see hero attacks coming to a class as a core mechanic. It also looks like they've got weapons (Flamereaper) which is awesome to see. It would have been a crime to put in Demon Hunters without weapons.
What do y'all think about this being a core class mechanic?

So I just opened the site to see if there's any news, and the first thing I look at is: *EXPANSION NAME* LEAKED! *SPOILER1* *SPOILER2* *SPOILER3* I had no chance to look away from or not notice the large fel green Illidan image.
I got spoiled. Spoiled large. Tomorrow's largest announcement, the unknown mystery hyped for weeks, will only have a much, much lesser impact on me on the stream. The "WOW!" factor, the "I can't believe they've done this!" will be missing.
This was a very irresponsible decision from the site. I would have expected the article's preview to only state something similar to "SPOILERS! New expansion leaked! Name, major features, cards here!". I am sure I am not the only one who'd rather find out about the new stuff during the reveal stream and not from lines of text on a fansite front page. As in, getting to know the name only at the end of a fun, mood-setting music trailer would have made a much more enjoyable experience.
So please, Flux, DO NOT put unavoidable, major spoilers on the front page. I did not check out the full article, and I do not intend to, but the damage has been done and a large hype moment will be missing for me and many others who'd rather get to know about the new stuff when it was intended to. This is like going to a bookshop to pick up the new Harry Potter 6 book and there is a poster next to the cash register that reads "Dumbledore dies". In the future, please put spoiler warnings, only describe the topic of leaks on the front page, and generally, show spoilers only to someone who decides to and takes action to look at them (=clicks on the article).
