Greetings Champions!

I am here to announce that my discord server is holding its first ever LOR tournament and we would love it if you guys would participate along with us and help us grow as a community. 

I believe this tournament will be great for community interaction, banter, friendship making and just great fun! I will answer some common questions first, but if you are at all interested or have more question, don’t hesitate to join our discord to just see.

This tournament is taking place on our discord, It’s a tournament made among new players of LOR which will include real prizes. (not this one, but in the future). **There are two separate tournaments made for NA AND EU.**

“Can I join if I am not interested in the tourney?” 

Of course, we accept everyone and anyone who also enjoys friendly banter and company. We’re also still looking to expand, so if there is another game you would like us to feature, we would definitely think about it

For the official rules, we recommend you go to our tournament page on our discord, but basically:

-There will be a tournament bracket.

-This tournament will be BO5 with 3 decks allowed for each player.

-First player to win with all three decks wins match

-the bracket is double elimination.

-Sign ups closes at the beginning of next Sunday(June 22) and rounds will begin Monday.

Vlad levels up from "Allies" surviving damage, but that incluides Vlad himself. Imperial demolitionist targets an "ally" but that means other units, not itself.

The current draft game mode for LoR right now is Expeditions, but I think that due to giving cards in buckets it often leads to worse versions of constructed decks instead of truly unique decks. 

My draft mode mode work like this: first, the player chooses 3 Regions out of an offered 5, then they are taken to a separate empty collection and given 65 random cards from each region and 9 Wildcards (that can be used for any rarity). This separate collection and wildcards would not transfer over to the player’s real collection. Then, the player would build a deck of 40 cards with those 3 Regions, using the random cards that they got as well as cards they crafted with the wildcards. After each victory or defeat they receive 2 Wildcards (to a max of 10) and they can adjust their deck. The run would end after 6 victories or 2 consecutive losses, and a second run can be taken after the first one (just like expeditions). The mode could either be played with an entrance fee and then give rewards based on victories, or be played for free with no rewards. 

The point of this mode would be to offer interesting deck building challenges for players, as they would have to change their strategy based on which regions and cards they receive, and use Wildcards to refine their decks. I’m not sure about what the exact numbers of Wildcards and Random cards given should be, but it could be adjusted to an optimal amount that doesn’t lead to too consistent decks. 

This is written with full discretion that I also enjoy abusing a good Murloc comp. If anything that gives me more credibility.

Being able to divine shield a huge minion is equivalent to having another minion on the board. When you do the math, even taking a ghoul doesn’t help so much because to do so you had to go down to 6 units yourself.

No one complains about dragons because even if you can shield your comp you went down 1 unit and their attack may not be high anyway.

very simple number economics. Murloc late game is not fun to play against. Either mass div shield or mass poison has to go. Please replace Megasaur with Scalelord.

Hello there. I've downloaded legends of runeterra on my phone for a month now and I love it. But what I noticed was that when I played the game normally, it was pretty clunky and laggy. But, when I kept my finger on the screen,  it ran as smooth as silk. Any ideas?

Is this kitty a misunderstood real threat or just a worse AFK? I pick her every time because fun is usually more important than climbing to me (i play in low 7000s doing that). 2 of the 6 times I got her I got a top 4 and two of the times I got beat down 8th place due to bad golden draw. 

great hero and I’m glad she is here but she is clickbait incarnate. If you do not roll something good rip. You have to. Unless you are hitting everything you need and are spending the gold like unneeded rerolls chances are you need that golden Rover to catch up!

I’ll start with a disclaimer: I don’t play a whole lot of battlegrounds, therefore my analysis might be flawed.

Anyways, Pirates are great fun! I love both the economy and the buff-when-attacking synergy.

But especially the later is causing some problems imo. Late game pirate builds snowball so incredibly hard from their first attack, that any comeback is very difficult. Attacking second in a mirror is a guaranteed loss. Not only that, you oftentimes lose by a lot because the buffs keep coming.
The same goes for the parrot-deathrattle build to a certain extend. 
Without a huge divine shield - taunt you are basicly Toast In this meta, after losing the coin flip of attack initiative. 

How are your experiences? Have you found a way around that?

So I am curious, why are your funnest decks to play? I think mine is my Teemo/Sejuani deck. I had discovered that puff caps are an awesome way to trigger Sejuani’s level up, so now I have a deck that focuses on puffcap placement and defending until I can bring full-power Sejuani into play. It’s super fun, but not very good in the ranked game mode.

I'd like to know where most players are at and where I stand. As of right now I'm dancing between plat 3 and 2.

I just wanted to share this in case it's useful for anyone.. I looked around but couldn't find a definite answer to this elsewhere.

Turns out, if you open a champion capsule from a region that you already have all the champions for, you'll get a champion from another region instead.

For me it was SI.

I wasn't sure if I would just get 750 shards instead of a champion.. but thankfully I unlocked Lee Sin instead.

So Freljord as a region in present in 3 of the tier 1 lists of the meta.

This gives it the top win rate of all the regions on mobalytics

It's hanging around 60 percent in the best decks

- It has the best buffs, fury of the north, elixir of iron

- Frostbite is strong, it counters other midrange lists

- Sejuani is the number 1 champ

- Deck buffing is strong with omen hawk being the best example

- It has good teck options in a tournament setting

So I'm on the fence about trying either Miss Fortune or Fizz--both look really fun but for totally different reasons, and I'm 0/3 on both.  Meanwhile I've got 3/3 TF and 2/3 of Naut & GP.  Then I notice that I'm at Level 16 for Bilgewater rewards so I figure: I'll push that region, pick up the wildcard at L18 and the champion capsule at L23, then if I likely get either my first MF or first Fizz from the champion capsule then I'll use that wild card to craft another which will give me 2/3 and that will be enough to at least craft a deck and play a little before I commit to crafting the third copy.

Good plan, right?  Totally works around my crippling indecisiveness.  So I do all that, and I grind XP for the weekend and I finally hit L23 last night and I anxiously open my champion capsule to find...

Which is good, right?  Except to my twisted mind, it feels worse.  :-P

What about you guys?  Have you ever had any illogical feelings about something in-game?  Or alternatively: advice about whether I should craft Fizz or MF first?

Guess what, we get to talk about everyone's favorite stealthy list, and how to fix it.

- The solution was simple, just splash frejord. Now every wayfinder can pull out omen hawks and buff all future elusive draws.

- The evaluation works like this, if a wayfinder pulls out 2 hawks that's 4/5 strength plus 4/4 strength into future draws.

- That is 8/9 stats on turn 4 so consider me converted, all the list needed was a tier 1 splash. Not to mention the deck thinning potential.

- You also get access to burst speed spells that keep your elusives alive like fury of the north and elexir of iron.

This is the first deck I created.

I won one game and lost 5 with it so far.

I'm not sure if early game aggro decks are viable in the game, as low cost removal is limited and finding blockers isn't difficult. 

Something as simple as a House Spider can ruin my board position. And I cannot deal with late game cards. I'm still not sure about 

Legion Rearguard. Having it do something on turn 1 is mostly up to luck and attacking first.  And I'm wondering if a 1 cost 2/2 isn't better than a 3 /1 that can't block. I also recently learned that allies that can't block can still be forced to block. (Would have been nice if it had a narrow upside)

Once the enemy has blocked a few, or traded,  they overtake me with larger threats.

Obviously, some card choices are not optimal as I'm still building my collection.

EDH (Elder Dragon Highlander), or as it is more commonly known, Commander, is one of the most popular game modes in Magic: the Gathering. The way it works is you pick a Legendary Creature to be your "commander". The commander doesn't go into your deck, but instead is in a special zone where you can always play him as if he were in your hand. You also build a 100 card deck, with only one copy of each card, centered around your commander.

So I was thinking, what if we had something like this in Hearthstone? You could pick a Legendary minion, and then build say a 50 card deck with only 1 copy of each card. The legendary minion wouldn't be shuffled into your deck but would instead go into a separate zone where you could cast it whenever you had the mana for it. 

Decks would be really inconsistent because you are playing with 50 different cards, but you also get to pick one Legendary who you get to play every game which increases consistency. You would have to adjust the UI a bit to make room for the "commander", but I think it would be pretty fun. 

The main downsides is that Highlander cards would be no-brainer inclusions, but you could always ban them in that format. I am not sure if that is the best fix, but it would solve the problem. 

I am not sure if this format would work in Hearthstone, but I thought it would be fun to speculate. It may be really broken getting Deathknights on curve or always having Shudderwock whenever you need him, but it could also open up a lot of room for brewers like myself to have a lot of fun. What do you think? Could Elder Dragon Highlander be a format in Hearthstone?

So I just started playing last week.

I was talking with my brother today, and he has a pre-constructed deck that I don't, and vice versa. But I completed the tutorial and challenges and there doesn't seem to be a way to unlock more. Are some of the unlocked decks random?

Also, what does it mean when a wild card in my rewards is labeled "Upgrade"

Lastly, anything a new player should avoid?  I tried building a full aggro deck with "Legion rearguard" and "Patrol Wardens" among others. But I'm not sure if these type of deck are viable in this game.

Please nerf burn aggro - today I lost two games against it with even with him not even touching my face with direct attacks - just last breath deal dmg and burst spells. Total bulls*** not fun to play against + most of the players even rope deliberatly

How many of you would want a Weekly custom Runeterra card creation competition, just like the one for Hearthstone? I know LoR has a smaller presence on this site than HS but I think it’d be fun.
