The Guide

This deck centers around the quests available to mage. So we use all cards that have the "quest" keyword in it, like Questing Explorer, Licensed Adventurer (new card from latest expansion). And the deck focusses on elementals to complete one quest and to use the new cards Animated Avalanche and Mana Giant. To complete the picture we have Archmage Antonidas and Sorcerer's Apprentice and a Mana Cyclone package with some cheap spells. And then also a Dune Sculptor to give some extra minions from all that free spell stuff.

The result: a very fun deck where you can really combo off some imposant early bord states with free Mana Giants, extra Avalanche or quest completion rewards. And it is not an expensive deck: just needs one legendary (the quest) and Antonidas (not too bad to have anyway if you play mage).

And when your board is not enough to close the deal, we trust Antonidas to come and provide us with some Fireballs which should carry us home.

So basically it is a mid-range deck, runs no healing but is very fun to play.

Synergies

Cyclone combo in a turn with lots of cheap spells will fill your hand with spells.

Same with Dune Sculptor will fill your hand with minions.

When you spend mana on spells, your two quests will complete. Watch out for your hand size, you can easily overdraw with this deck (which is not the end of the world btw.)

Elemental Evocation can be used on any elemental not only your Mana Cyclone. An 8-8 on turn 5 is also nice. The random generated minions and spells could again be Mana Cyclone and/or Elemental Evocation for a nice new combo turn.

Remember to attack with Water Elemental before casting Ray of Frost (=2 extra damage).
