Tempo Mage is Back

Try it out! It's fun to play.

Featuring the likes of Spellzerker, Cosmic Anomaly, Bloodmage Thalnos and Azerite Elemental to boost your spells, and also Mana Addict and Unexpected Results for tempo and relying on Archmage Antonidas and some one mana spells to get the final reach.

Mulligan

I mulligan only for 2-mana minions, its imperative you start your siege on turn 2 with a solid 3 health minion that will hopefully survive, and then things can snowball really fast. So the general game plan is really easy: establish bord control on turns 2-4 get some minions there and then use your spells / minions to keep the bord and hammer away at everything in your path.

Ideal scenario is you start with a Spellzerker, next turn you remove that puny 1-1 minion of the opponent and play your Unexpected Results giving you 2 4-drops on turn 3 for big tempo.

Warning

Warriors are your worst enemy. When it is one of those days that they roam the ladder then you can better use another deck or take your loss with dignity. Since they have the tools to remove everything, even before you think of playing it, and they armor up and you simply do not have enough damage to beat that without sticky minions.

Where is Zilliax

This deck is not for the weak. We have 30 life total and that should be enough. Feel free to add him somewhere though; sacrifice some offense for defense might win you another game or two if its a race, but most of the time as soon as you lose bord its game over except if you find that last Fireball you needed.

Current Results

Well I made some modifications here and there, but the version on this page has 100% win rate on rank 9-7 over the last 7 games against 3 shamans, a rogue, a druid, a mage and a priest. So no warrior :) yet.

Update:

Yes I also lost with it :). I removed the Azerite Elemental and banana guys in favor of Arcane Watcher and Ancient Mage. The watcher can be a great threat, it is a soft-taunt even when not (yet) enabled. Also experimented with Spellbreaker as counter against mech craziness but also to silence the Watcher :).
