We've got a brand new event in Hearthstone's Mercenaries game mode and it's here only for a limited-time! This time, we'll venture into many dangerous Bounty zones with the aid of Yogg-Saron, fan favorite for its Constructed shenanigans and the third Old God that has come to pay us a visit.

Our journey won't be in search of just fame and success, but you'll be able to complete a set of 10 event Tasks, which will reward you coins for Yogg-Saron and many other goodies.

Here are all the tasks that are available during the Yogg-Saron Mercenaries event. Click any of the links below to visit our guide for the task.

As you can see, these tasks are quite the mixed bag: while some are fairly simple to complete, others require more than a bit of thinking (and luck: that one's always welcome) and planning ahead.

Moreover, certain tasks clearly state that you need Comps consisting of Mercenaries belonging to specific races in order for your progresses to count: while the Y'Shaarj event was about Humans and Pirates, this time you'll need the help of Naga and Night Elves!

Not all challenges might be as difficult as they seem at a glance: there are usually tips and tricks to be found to make everyone's lives easier. In this series of guides we'll take a look at how to complete each event Task, so that you'll be able to get your hands on all the rewards available. As of now, we'll focus our attention on the current task.

How to Complete the "Camping" Task from the Yogg-Saron Event

    • Requirement: Complete Yeti Hunter Ranel Bounty with at least 2 Night Elves In Winterspring.
    • Game Mode: Normal
    • Rewards: 50 Yogg-Saron coins, 25 Elise Starseeker coins.
    • Difficulty: 2/5

For the second task of the Yogg-Saron Mercenaries event we venture into the infamous Winterspring zone, where we'll have to complete the Yeti Hunter Ranel bounty in Normal mode.

As you can see from the picture below, Yeti Hunter Ranel will appear on the board as a 13/200 Fighter with two 9/100 Frosted Elementals Casters, resulting once again in a green/blue fight. Moreover, each enemy unit has an additional effect:

All in all, this is going to be a speed-focused battle, in which your opponent will try to slow you down as much as possible while speeding themselves up. Yeti Hunter Ranel has the potential to be very troublesome, but there are multiple ways to render it inoffensive.

Starting with the main boss, Ranel is a Fighter focused on modifying other characters' speed: to be more precise, it will try to slow you down with Flurry 3 while making the Frosted Elementals act faster thanks to Fan of Knives 3.

The Frosted Elementals, on the other hand, want to slow you down even more with Rime-fog Incantation 1 and capitalize on your sluggishness with Frostbolt 3. Be sure to focus on one Elemental at time, as Ice Capsule 3 will restore a lot of Health; however, this ability can be useful to you as well in combination with Ranel's aura effect (which affects all characters).

As you can see, a good portion of this final fight revolves around Freeze effects: they are going to take place multiple times and you want to put yourself in a favorable position in order to increase the odds of Camping's completion.

For this reason, you may want to take a look at your Mercenaries collection, as there are a couple equipments that are very efficient against Yeti Hunter Ranel:

To be fair, we are not saying you should necessarily own and run any of these units in order for you to complete Camping, but they can definitely be helpful.

As a final note, remember that you need to run 2 Night Elves in your party - here's the list of characters you can choose from:

As always, you need to run 2 Night Elves, not make them the cornerstone of your strategy: you might want to let them chill on the bench for the entire bounty and you will receive no harm in doing so.

    Suggested Comps

Here are a few Mercenaries parties you can use to complete the "Camping" task. If the task will allow multiple solutions, you'll be able to choose between at least an efficient and a budget comp, so that our suggestions will accommodate any kind of player out there. Moreover, in case any other content creator will provide interesting strategies, we'll make sure to list them below.

Out of Cards Recommendation - Fire Comp

We think that Ragnaros' [Hearthstone Card (Sulfuras 4) Not Found] is just too good for this task to pass on it, so here we are with a less offensive (but still very good) version of the Fire comp we're all used to.

To prove this comp of being fit for this task, we actually recorded a video showing you that you can pull this off with ease.

Here are a few tips for those unfamiliar with this strategy.

    • Obviously, climbing and final fight trio is Ragnaros-Balinda Stonehearth-Baron Geddon.
    • You can include any Night Elf you want, as they won't play an active role in this strategy.
    • You won't hit as hard as you would have with [Hearthstone Card (Blazing Rune 4) Not Found], but at least you'll get rid of the entire Freeze crap.
    • You may want to use Balinda's Lesser Water Elemental 1 to Freeze Ranel one turn or two, putting you in an even better position.
      • Remember that Frozen characters take double damage!
    • Other than this, there's no particular strategy: just bury your opponents under a mountain of Fire damage.

Out of Cards Budget Recommendation - Dragon Comp

Although you'll give your enemy more freedom of action, the Dragon comp is known for being very resilient, even if you have to act last.

To prove this comp of being fit for this task, we actually recorded a video showing you that you can pull this off with ease.

    • Climbing and final fight trio is Nefarian-Sinestra-Yu'lon.
    • You can include any Night Elf you want, as they won't play an active role in this strategy.
    • Once you get to the final fight, focus on one unit at time.
      • In the video we started with the Frosted Elementals (they have a lower Health total) and then proceeded to take down Ranel.
    • Since you'll almost always act last, you won't have to worry about the Frosted Elementals's Deathrattle, as the enemy won't be able to deal damage to you before the turn ends.
    • If you are not very confident about using Yu'lon to take down Yeti Hunter Ranel, then consider spamming Jadeflame Buffet 1 for more Health for your entire party.
