    Crabatoa: "Behold, my monstrous claws!"

Geoff (Crabatoa's little fish friend): "Uhhh. You mean the piddly 2/1 weapons?"

Jokes aside, its probably a very good card, with 2x 4 damage removal that can combine to 8 if need be, plus a 2 (4?) damage attack with your hero in the middle followed by a 2/1 weapon sticking around, all alongside a 6/5. That's a lot of stuff for 6 mana. I hope they don't count this as giving rogue some deathrattles though, lol.

Also, I wasn't aware that nagas can actually look like spider ladies. I thought the physiology is almost always snake like.

You don't see much of her, but you can see a spider (crab?) like naga in this BfA cinematic: Rise of Azshara cinematic.

Reminds me a lot of Hex Lord Malacrass. I'm not sure if the effect is stronger or not - the greater control is in competition with the fact you didn't need to worry much about when you drew Malacrass. So the biggest difference is that this costs 4 instead of 8, which is obviously a big deal. So it has got more hope than Malacrass did, though I don't recall him having any meta presence so who knows if that means much.

Oh, and I guess this confirms Azshara will be neutral, which is nice for the non-mage Azshara fans out there.

In this case the character herself matters as much as the tribe. Hooktusk was one of the coolest HS-original characters full stop, let alone just in rogue. It is also pirate rogue players, not warriors, that formed the strongest attachment to her, so having her switch class would be a slap to the face to the people who most care. It wouldn't be as big a deal if I enjoyed pirate rogue and warrior equally, but I really don't. The warrior variant is always a linear, brute force aggro deck that has never had any appeal to me. It has none of the rogue game play that I obviously gravitate towards.

It's also not clear now whether that rogue pirate is a one-off or not. They have been strangely rare lately, but it used to be normal for rogue to get a single pirate here and there. Now I think about it, I'm probably a bit of a Salty Dog as I've watched rogue hallmarks like pirates and shuffles be completely shifted to other classes (keep in mind warrior only actually had pirates in Old Gods until DoD when it took over everything to do with them), and even things like deathrattles feel like they've been transferred to DH since rogue can't actually get any of its own 'rattles these days. So I've become pretty jaded as lots of my favourite archetypes get moved out of rogue and into classes with play styles I don't enjoy.

What I'm tentatively raising a pitchfork for is that Nelie's ship is covered with the Sharks logo, and thus directly linked to Hooktusk. If they do rogue dirty and make her a warrior card I'm going to be genuinely annoyed. Tbh I was hoping rogue would get the inevitable colossal pirate ship, so I'm already a little peeved. Just stop giving all the pirate stuff to warrior Blizz, please...

I'm completely with you, but I guess it's not surprising that the class defined thematically by casting spells (very few of which involve friendly characters at all) had that design though. If anything it's strange the class is the default in a game designed primarily around minions.

At a purely thematic level, why do you think warrior is any better associated with mechs than mage? Warriors are not tinkerers/artificers; they are simple dudes who hit stuff and block things, and like to get angry from time to time. If anything they are probably the most likely (alongside paladin) to feel it is dishonorable to have a mech's support in a battle. So warrior's connection to the tribe runs no deeper than paladin's connection to murlocs: they just happened to be given them enough to become a running theme.

Mages, meanwhile, can at least be conceived as being part of the mech's creation. That doesn't make them an immediate fit, but I'm not sure any of the 10 classes really are.

That's a weird card for mage, but I dig it. It's nice to see them moving away from spell-heavy decks.

Welp. I guess shaman's murloc generation in Wild has a new high roll. Scargil letting this be played at 1 mana is going to be nasty.

Meanwhile in Standard, this is a deathrattle minion, so Reconnaissance is going to love it, especially if Shadowstep stays in the Core set.

Oh, and warlock can use it too I guess. (I'll leave that analysis for people who actually play the class.)

I'm trying to come up with something nice but I'm stuck on the fact it's more buff pally support, which feels like 80% of what the class gets these days so I really can't get excited about it. If you like that, then great, but it's not winning anyone over to the class that didn't already main it.

It has worked fine for me, though it has claimed to be offering task 1 each time (purely visual bug).

Ugh, I really wish they hadn't added a whole 3 legendaries to open from packs. Getting only 1 of them from the 53 packs I had amassed from tasks- and that 1 being Vandarr who we are given in the legendary questline anyway - is seriously annoying :(

Dredge doesn't actually draw it though, right? I think it just puts it on the top of the deck. Kind of like Sightless Watcher but specifically from the bottom 3 cards.

They might just not want the Core set changes to overshadow/confuse the already tight reveal schedule. The Core set is a big deal, but isn't what Blizz wants people to get excited about since it doesn't sell any packs.

A 2 mana 2/3 'do not very much by itself' might not be a problem in pirate warrior. It depends a bit on whether warrior gets a bunch of pirates.

On the rogue side of things, we saw Hooktusk in the trailer, so it's pretty safe to assume pirate rogue is here to properly join the party. I hope it does a lot of sinking and dredging shananigans, that seems very thematic and mechanically appropriate for rogue, and is a whole lot more interesting than warrior's very linear game plan.

Btw, I really hope Hooktusk is made a portrait in the rewards track. She had some A++ tier emotes in Rumble Run and it would be such a waste to miss the opportunity twice!

Aranna? She's more chill than most DHs, I'll give you that, but she's still Elise's grumpy little sister whose personality is more similar to Illidan's than basically anyone in another class. That's not to say I don't like Aranna - I use her all the time because she's the only DH hero with emotes I don't find intolerably angry - but she's still just DH-lite.

Oh, I should also say I'm not hating on the typical DH personality, since it makes good sense from a lore perspective. It just happens to be the sort of personality I don't like representing me in-game, and the fact the class is very homogeneous by construction doesn't help it.

They would all be good, though with humans, draenai and trolls already covered, I think priest would most like a dragon character to use. It's a shame mage got 2 of them in the last 7 months, despite never being nearly as much a dragon class as priest.

It's high time hunter got an actual beast hero too, while rogue has so many themes that the current roster of heroes don't cover it's criminal! Gallywix and Myra Rotspring would be great additions, for example.

As for DH... let's be honest, all DHs are basically the same angry character so I'm not sure what diversity there really is to add there.

Yeah, I doubt it too, although I could see N'Zoth appear in some more abstract form, such as the fish.

Edit: the card back with its 3 eyes is certainly invoking the image of N'Zoth, so I guess that makes it more likely.

Paladin is doing fine, but yeah, the other 3 plus priest are like starving orphans watching mage gorge itself on (non-Jaina) hero skins at this point.

That's assuming it does get nerfed again, and that the nerf won't be another one that's so light that it changes basically nothing.

Ultimately I'm no less fed up of the questlines than I was during UiS, and I don't relish the thought of one of the more egregious ones continuing to be at the centre of its respective class.
