I thought you couldn't target an immune enemy minion, so you wouldn't be able to cast Hysteria on the Neferset after passing it over.

I assume people have already done this and I am wrong, but it is a surprise to me.

It is perfectly possible that you could encounter me with [Hearthstone Card (Cap'n Valeera) Not Found], a golden coin and the Legend card back. It is also pretty much guaranteed the intimidation factor would plummet as soon as I play a card (other than the coin of course) and reveal I'm playing some off-meta homebrew that is likely easier to beat than some basic portrait scrub who opens with Spymistress.

I'm a great midrange/value rogue player - possibly one of the best out there - but that makes me about as intimidating as a teddy bear.

The conclusion: there is as much variance in the players who have these cosmetics as there is anywhere else in HS, so there's little point in trying to infer much about them.

As for whether anything intimidates me: not really, but I do get super suspicious when an opponent plays a card I haven't seen played in years. You've gotta respect an Angry Chicken because there's no way the opponent doesn't have a plan that'll end in your demise.

Yeah, Hysteria is definitely the bigger limitation on design space since any future neutral/priest/warlock minion that triggers when attacking would need to be mindful of it. Changing Tiller would fix this particular problem, but leaves the door wide open for future ones.

Since I've long past the point of finding card backs being interesting in their own right (I currently have a full expansion of them at 135!), I think the 'best' one is simply the one that best suits the deck I'm attaching it to. That can even make icky ones that nobody really likes the best (I'm looking at you Unholy Knight).

More generally, 2 really stand out: the Random one and Pandaria, which is the HS equivalent of me carving "AngryShuckie was 'ere 2014" into a tree stump.

I just reached level 200, which means 150 remaining levels (and 7500 gold) left to go until the finish line.

I spent 2000 gold to buy the mini set which was a decent deal. Let's hope they will keep this deal for future mini sets. It's also good that some more XP quests were added which helps out the levelling up a bit extra. Their dumb requirements are messing up my legend rank considerably though, but that's of less importance now.

What's your current progression? Do you like the mini set?

I just got to 104. The mini-set and new achievements have motivated me to be playing more again, so I have been speeding through the last few levels (I honestly don't even remember getting levels 100-103).

I used packs I had hoarded to get the mini-set, which went super well as I had all 4 of the new legendaries by the end of them, and the coolest 2 in shiny gold (I crafted golden Ivory before opening, but the golden Rustwix was out of the kindness of RNGesus). So that was 2000 gold saved!

I'm hoping the Rustwix warlock that is common at Diamond 5 will disappear soon so I can play him myself without feeling dirty about it. In the meantime I'm messing around with the achievements no one else at Diamond 5 seems to care about.

On an slightly unrelated note, we also finally got that damn interface for xp gain.

Sorry, see xp on the title just want to make a note of it without actually creating a thread.

Yeah. But i wonder why it shows "+ scroll XP" and not "+XP scroll". Looks super weird to me honestly.

I think of the scroll like a currency sign, which typically comes before the quantity. That's the complete opposite of how other quantities are given units (e.g. 3m or 10kg), but whatever, I don't set the conventions.

How would Pressure Plate counter it? Wouldn't it trigger after Hysteria has already resolved and you are already dead?

Feels bad, summoning other treants doesn't count towards achievement. Only Darkmoon one. *facepalm*

Yeah, that one's a slow process. On the bright side they didn't really think the warrior one through, and just using the druid hero power contributes to it, so at least you are finishing that up for free while slowly summoning the treants.

None of the involved cards are a problem. The problem is the code. If the minion with Hysteria has attacked all other minions and is still alive it should stop even there are still some minions left. It's coded that one minion is picked before every attack rather then putting all minions on board into a queue in random order. So the exit condition is currently (Hysteria minion is dead or no minion on board). It should be (queue is emoty) imho.

That's not a coding issue, since that's exactly what the card says it will do: keep attacking until it dies. However, changing Hysteria to work like Deathwing, Mad Aspect so it attacks everything once (unless it dies midway) would be an elegant solution without upsetting anyone since that's what we would have all expected it to do to begin with.

I expect Malfurion to cover the War of the Ancients (which Illidan's intro story kinda tells), while Illidan will shrink it down to a single encounter and focus on what he's done since. Certainly Illidan has a lot to say from Warcraft 3 and The Burning Crusade, neither of which were covered in his Initiate intro. There's also the Legion expansion, but I don't expect that to be discussed since everyone has so far stopped at the end of Mists of Pandaria (when HS was released).

Apologies for all the expansion names... he's been a busy boy.

The precedent has so far been to stop the story at the end of Mists of Pandaria (i.e. when HS was released), which would neatly avoid the complications of having 2 Gul'dans running around.

I'm keen to see whether Anduin covers anything more recent, because if anyone needs to it is him.

I don't know how it looks in HS's business end, but I know I've accidentally put random junk in random places in code before by doing something as simple as clicking the mouse wheel (which is like ctrl+v on the Linux system I work on) while scrolling past. It's uncommon, but I can sympathize with accidentally changing code that you didn't intend to touch.

I'm sure they are made to please the Chinese audience, but they have English voicelines so I doubt they'll only be available in China. Plus, I'm not sure what Blizzard would gain from not allowing the rest of the world to give them money for the skins.

It's a visual bug. Rally! is actually a rare but shows up as common. Hysteria also appears as an epic.

They say new things when clicking on them in the client, so very probably

I expect he just hitched a ride with some sailors or goblins at some point in the many years between WC2 and WC3. It seems plausible that he heard about Kalimdor and how it is much more wild than the Eastern Kingdoms, and decided to visit. I doubt it is an exciting story at any rate.

No, you haven't missed anything on the deck deletion front. That's always been clunky, and I have been frustrated by it many times myself.

It's a bit difficult for me to comment on because I always knew it was there, so of course it was obvious to me, but surely you must have noticed the tabs stick around when building a deck and were thinking 'I wish I could choose a hero for this deck'?

No judgement here, I'm just curious.

Iksar's exact wording was "low enough power level that it's not taking over all of Hearthstone", which is not the same thing as "low power". It's a good example of the dangers of paraphrasing, and why it's good to read the full thing.
