    Wow, thanks everyone!

Guess I struck onto a good idea with this one.

@grumpymonk - since its "for the rest of the game" and not "give minions in your hand and deck" it should reapply whenever the game see's a minion regardless of if its already been corrupted by this effect, functioning like the horrendous growth.

I like both of these cards: I've been tinkering with the Heart of Y'Shaarj ever since I included it in my custom expansion, and incorporating Corrupt as-per the new Y'Shaarj's will is spot-on. Goes well with the next expansion in line, as well, seeing as how you want to hold onto minions to use handbuffs like Conditioning (Rank 1). One problem I see is that Corrupted cards are technically different cards; it's not just a simple buff. Minions that didn't normally have Corrupt would have an issue, because they don't change appearance or name, which is how Y'Shaarj, the Defiler flags them.

Toxic Twister seems like a fun card, although you do have a minor error: it should be "its", not "it's".

All-in-all, I feel like Toxic Twister might be the better card to go with, because some voters seem to be uncomfortable with "for the rest of the game" effects...at least from my experience. Could just be a "me" problem lol

Good catch on the twister error, I'll make sure to fix it up.

As for Heart of Y'Shaarj, I dont find it hard to imagine some behind-the-scenes spaghetti to get it working. The game seeing a corrupt trigger from it and just applying the handbuff and the Corrupted keyword for Y'Shaarj to see. (Like giving any other keyword to a minion in hand eg. Val'anyr giving Deathrattle). If i go with Heart I'll make sure to explain the function in the description.

    Hi Everyone,

I've got one main idea and a backup idea this time that I'm looking for some thoughts on:

    Heart of Y'ShaarjToxic Twister

Heart of Y'Shaarj is my main idea I'm looking for feedback on - it makes it so you can scale all of your minions up through a game if you're able to hold them. It also can turn Y'Shaarj into a full hand refill of minions.

Toxic Twister is the backup idea, just proving a semi-chaotic flexible removal tool for shaman. Inspired by the Dark Shamans in Siege of Orgrimmar that used corrupted elemental spells.

    Interesting note

Scabbs joined SI:7 during a difficult time for Stormwind. King Varian has gone missing. Calls for help from Redridge and Darkshire go unanswered. A glowing object explodes in the sky, raining shards of light across the land. A concerned member of the royal court has hired several mercenaries to search for these shards of light.

This section for Scabbs is a direct reference to the actions of Lady Katrana Prestor in classic WoW. Lady Katrana Prestor is perhaps better known as Onyxia and likely one of the two dragons mentioned in Bru'kans vision. I wouldnt be surprised if she's also Tamsin's benefactor.

Onyxia would also make sense if Team5 is pushing a "Classic WoW" feel for this years expansions, whats more classic wow than Moar DoTs! Many Whelps, handle it!

My initial thinking has gone to the corrupted ancients from warcraft 3 and in felwood - a perfect fit for demon hunter i think.

The first design synergises with a low-curve outcast deck where you can easily move this to the left-most position,  and nods towards the old Ancient of War for druid. The second is more of a payoff for token decks, letting them develop a very large threat that they have to fuel with the death of their illidari.

Interested to know other thoughts here - while i like these directions, I'm not neccessarily inspired by them.

    Hi everyone,

Looking for balance thoughts on this one before i submit:

    Ignite

There are some fun combos with Combustion, Rolling Fireball and Molten Reflection

    Feedback for this page:

    Show Spoiler

ChickyChick - It feels a bit too similar to Kanrethad's effect to me. I like the concept in the ogre better.

KANSAS - I like this new design, it could probably reduce the cost by 2 as it currently is (maybe as a 0/2 then just in case). Some crazy boards could happen with totemic reflections that would be fun.

Dreams - I think merlin is far too oppressive with frost spells, and too situational with fire spells. The Armorsmith is interesting, though a bit out of flavour for mage, a no-spell mage could be a difficult archetype to get working, but this is a nice payoff for that - 10 armor might be a touch too high, I'd suggest 8 armor - like an ice barrier.

    Thanks

    Hi Everyone,

I've been working on some cards trying to create a set, and thought it might be a good idea to get some feedback/insight/ideas from the community on a some of the cards.

While I'm starting off with my own designs, feel free to use this space to post your own cards for community feedback.

Some of these cards are designed with combos in mind - so consider how they interact with the other cards shown.

    Druid Cards:

My first idea for this theme uses some familiar art:

It's reminiscent of Lightning Breath, while also acting as a dragon to fit into that same deck.

Flavour-wise, Razorscale was corrupted by Yogg-saron in Ulduar - so a perfect match for a corrupt mechanic.

    Hi everyone,

I took the challenge to heart and tried to do all 3 at once:

I can't decide if its too strong or too weak - probably means its not very balanced, but I'd like some thoughts about it.

I'll give some feedback when theres some more discussion posts.

I've had in idea for a set for a while that I just can't find enough good art to make a full custom set myself:

The stormstout brewery tour: 9 of our Hero's have recieved a golden ticket to attend a tour of the mysterious stormstout brewery, run by the eccentric Gao Stormstout. Each Hero's vice (Sha's), warrior and the Sha of Anger for example, lead to their downfall, and Lei Shen and his Mogu legions (Shaman Class) try to steal the secret recipe to make his own brewery the best in pandaria.

Trapdoorspyder - As mentioned, you could reduce the cost (probably to 3), or increase to stats (probably 4/6).

A good technique I have for art (and how I found the art for Blood in the Water for last weeks competition) is to use http://wow.tcgbrowser.com/ and then use the google image search on those to try and find the high quality version of the card art.

Another that I really like is Artstation.com, (search warcraft, hearthstone, or hearthstone fan art) I recall seeing a "botany student" art there recently that could fit your card quite well.

Thanks for everyone's feedback. I'm going with the Ancestral Crescent this week since its was met quite positively.

    More Feedback:

    Show Spoiler

Linkblade91 – While sphere of sapience has shown that more weapons available to druid wont break the game, I don’t think they should have an abundance of weapons. For that, I like Horticulture Teacher better. As it is, the teacher is overcosted. Compare this to Tending Tauren that naturally summons 2 treants. I think the Teacher could easily be a 4 Mana 4/4 or 3/4 and be fine.

Grumpymonk – I like the attentive student with the enchanted book best. It is more skill testing than the other designs as it eliminates any possible abuse of the design (8x fireballs in a game sounds unfun) while providing a good option for extra value generation or stall strategies.

Nirast – You are correct in that it should say “If the spell…”. Other than that, I like the concept of differing effects from some component of the spell, but I think the Secret condition isn’t necessary and complicates the card more than it needs to be. Otherwise, seems like a fun design. (just as an idea, it could be interesting for this design to look at the odd/even cost of the spell to choose its effect). I dislike the murloc you posted earlier for being too snowbally.

Shaveyou – I do like the flavour you’re trying to evoke, its shame there likely isn’t art for that available (the woe of all custom card creators), and that usually doesn’t score very highly in the end. Balance-wise, I think it might be undercosted – comparing it to Imprisoned Felmaw (Dormant for 2 turns ~= -2 Mana cost), it would still be good at 5 mana I think.

Wailor – I think Spellcaster In Training is still the best among these and seems fine in its current iteration.

FieselFitz – Some good changes, though I question whether this needs to be a Legendary. Drawing cards is a Rogue Strength, and this is now starting to resemble Acolyte of Pain in statline/card draw.

Bananenparty – You could play this on 5 + a 0 mana spell, then cast a 9 cost spell the following turn. If that seems too dangerous, I’d suggest putting this into a class that cant abuse it as much, or reducing the cost to 4 and changing it to “the next spell you play this turn costs (3) less”.

KANSAS – As others may have mentioned, the flavour of Lorekeeper should be changed so there’s no clash with Lorekeeper Polkelt. Otherwise It seems fine. Wind Totem has the potential to be simply too strong in a totem-shaman deck – flooding your board with these would be a horrible experience. I could see it if it wasn’t a totem.

DavnanKillder – I like Mad Researcher. We haven’t seen many “looting” effects in hearthstone, so I think this fills some interesting design space. Trapmaster is a no go from me, we’ve seen how random secrets can be frustrating, and the balance on the card would likely have to suffer as a result.

Ekkeh – Shrieking Banshee is too feast/famine for my liking. Either its too strong against 1 big threat at a time, or just bad against a wide board.

TheHoax91 – Some bold designs this week so far. Archmage Karlain is unfortunately another misstep. I could be wrong but i believe that [Hearthstone Card (Kael’Thas) Not Found] would override the cost increase and could be used to negate the drawback very easily. (Kael’thas + spell + spell + karlain + spell that costs 1). Additionally, spells that conditionally lower their cost may do the same (Scorch for example), ultimately Karlain limits future design space in a hazardous way.

I've got two ideas out of the gate this week:

    Ancestral CrescentGolden Justicar

Ancestral Crescent: Designed to help with the Overload shaman decks, just offers some early board control and a once off cleanse of overload, ideally on something like a Squallhunter + Lightning Bolt turn. Edit: I'm most likely going with this option.

Golden Justicar: A bit of support for secrets in an agressive paladin deck. I'm a little concerned with giving this to Pure paladin with Hand of A'dal existing, but otherwise its Argent Squire with a once off Secret Tutor.  Considering a 2/1 statline without Divine Shield.

    Feedback:

    Show Spoiler

Wailor - Definitely an interesting idea. I think if you want it to keep the +2 spell damage after the trigger, you might need to drop 1 health point or put it in a class. Otherwise, it could be just as interesting with only +1 spell damage after the trigger.

Demonxz95 - I agree with Linkblade91, Stitching Arm is a really fun design.

linkblade91 - This is a neat idea. Its comparable to Stampeding Roar, which i think might be a bit too much attached to a 4/2 weapon - perhaps as a minion instead, like a lion tamer? Otherwise, I think its original enough and a good use of dual-class between druid and hunter.

TheHoax91 - I really like the idea of spellburst on a hero card, very intriguing. I'm not sold on this iteration however - it feels like the spellburst is a bit unneccessary, rather than being the focus of the design. I'm also not sure about Mage having a nearly infinite 5 Armor gain loop, even an inefficient one. Gaining +1 spell damage for the game would likely be worth the 4 mana, so that feels fine.

    Hi everyone,

My first idea for this week:

    Blood in the Water

It's fairly simple (hopefully not too simple?) but hopefully captures both hunter and warrior flair. I'm considering if it would still be balanced as a 5/4 Shark and I would like thoughts on that?

    Some feedback:

    Show Spoiler

Demonxz95 - The submerged bomb is really nice. Drown is a bit boring, but balanced.

Wailor - I think the seahorse can have 1 extra attack or health as its effect is fairly conditional. The hammer head seems like a more conditional Darius Crowley which might make it slightly on the weak side. Abyssal monstrosity doesnt really fit rogue in my opinion and is too swingy for my liking.

Valor1204 - this seems very hard to use, since its difficult to buff them to attack. It's probably quite weak.

DavnanKillder - Seems like it should be balanced if the Naga attack their counterparts, then its a situationally better/worse Soul Mirror. As grumpymonk said, make it a bit clearer what they attack.

BloodMefist - An interesting idea, and i think a 6/4 locked behind a 4/3 should be fine at 6 mana.

grumpymonk - I always like ways to help big demon hunter with the fel witch, but I really like Oacha'noa for how interesting it is as an inclusion in some token/aggressive decks to develop a late game plan.

Thanks for the feedback everyone - I've made it an epic and moved it up to a 2/3 so that the floor on it is a bit higher. I think keeping the enchantment effect is the right thing since rogue has at least a few ways to buff a minion that are interesting along side this. (Crazed Chemist, Shadow Sensei, Cold Blood, Praise Galakrond!, Plaguebringer)

    Palace Skulker

Heres some feedback for some more recent submissions:

bananenparty - I really like educate the wild. A good tutor for a beast and helps to refine the spell damage based archetypes that both classes have had some support for - but not enough. Balance-wise i think it is perfect at 3 mana.

grumpymonk - I like Rend and Tear, though i think it would be safe at 2 mana. The tortollan is fine - but the "It's X minion we've seen before but smaller" type of design doesnt resonate with me - personal preference though.

BasilAnguis - A nice idea. I think it might be a bit cleaner if it was just "After this attacks, give your weapon poisonous this turn". Not too much more powerful, but also a bit cleaner wording.

Neoguli - I think i agree with some other comments that it might be a bit too simple. Maybe some design space for a high-stat taunt that is frozen until its damaged?

linkblade91 - The 2nd version is best there. I think it could even be a 4/5 with the taunt - Its a very inefficient minion against singular big threats and that will always draw it back.

    Hi everyone,

    Palace Skulker

This one is inspired by the Sauroks in Mogu'Shan Palace that were looting the vaults underneath and would run away with the treasure (keeping the enchantment) when they saw the players coming. Unfortunately there isn't perfect art for that concept.

    Hey everyone,

Heres my idea for this week:

    Stinkfur Carrot-thief

I'm not sure if i can bump it up to a 2/1 since its still pretty vulnerable to removal from hero powers and early minions.

    Feedback:

    Show Spoiler

Demonxz95 - A nice flexible option for shaman, I think its good  to go in that state.

Cg8889 - As others have said its a bit too powerful and breaks one of druids weaknesses to heavily in my opinion. Possibly think about other effects that this could have when it kills a minion on the board instead of when played.

Valor1204 - this seems good and balanced, but maybe too similar to khartut defeder.

Hordaki - An interesting card, I definitely think the downside here is easier to work with than the ogre "50% chance to attack the wrong target", so it actually seems possibly playable - and has some benefit with silence decks - seems good.

linkblade91 - I really like this, menagerie cards have always been a bit lacking and needing something interesting and i think this is a good fit for that and warlock.
