Oh yeah, the silicon problems have been mental over the past couple of years. Without a doubt though it is a perfect storm that has caused all the problems. It was even more fascinating when the car problems, yes actual cars, ended up having supply chain issues.

The biggest issue from everyone ends up being folks weren't thinking long-term with their production cycles (in fairness it does cost money to hold raw material). It'll be interesting to see if any companies start hoarding stuff once productions return to capacity to try and avoid future similar problems.

Wendover did a good video talking about a bunch of the shortages that popped up the past couple of years.

As far as mods go though, I feel that so much.

Its one of the reasons why I try to play games without mods at all, even if that does reduce the overall play time. Mods are awesome to extend the life of some games but if you're really into it and something ends up breaking in a patch, you're usually outta luck.

Oh yes, all those types of games are harsh on hardware. That's one of my favourite bits of Factorio because the team made their own engine because nothing else would compare. Their Friday Facts blog posts have been some of the most fun insights into their technical problems with a game in the genre. It has definitely made me see certain things in a different light when it comes to game dev issues (like how they optimized belts back in FF 176).

Oxygen Not Included has been on the "buy this" list for a while now. Maybe I should finally do it!

Yeah I'm pretty bummed out about not being able to list any GPUs. Silicon shortage has been such a pain to deal with. The worst part about it all though IMO is that Nvidia now knows they can get 2 grand for a consumer GPU so I don't expect them to tone the prices down in the future when silicon is no longer the problem.

Unless... AMD makes something competitive. Though, Intel is also now on the GPU train so maybe they can influence some of the Nvidia prices. That might take a while though since although they've been doing integrated GPUs forever, I don't think they're there yet with their dedicated offerings.

Maybe when Intel's new Arizona fab opens up in 2024 (if its even on time) that'll give them a better node to work on for their GPUs and they can get some kind of a leg up. I'm really interested in seeing how all the new non-Asia fabs are going to go though. TSMC's Arizona facility should be opening up the same year as Intel's new one (and Intel has an 8-fab mega fab coming in Europe). I don't think we'll see a jump in pricing, but I'm so curious about how the extra diversification across the globe will be for supply chains.

Definitely went off on a tangent there lol. But yeah, X-COM 2 - I even own the game (through a bundle probably) so there's really nothing stopping me from finally giving it a go at some point. Maybe something to play around the holidays... though if its really good I could see that being a negative lol

I know right? DDR5 right now is insanity and I never thought I'd see scalping RAM. I'm hoping DDR5 is a good value buy once AM5 ships later next year because that's ultimately what platform I'd love to be on.

Ohhh yeah, notepad.exe is my best friend when playing Satisfactory (and Factorio).

I'm really looking forward to the holiday update this year again so my present-shaped factory will turn on again and I can see those presents on the conveyer belts again. I'm curious what coffee stain will add to it - if they do. It was neat that last year they had some teaser new parts inside of the advent calendar.

Even with a high end rig though, damn does Satisfactory run like crap once stuff gets really big. There have been some  good improvements, and glass certainly doesn't help things, but damn it I'm going to make my skyscrapers pretty! I can't wait to check out the recent update once things calm down around the holiday season. I hope it moves off experimental by then.

That's legit! Never played X-COM but I've always heard good things so a $5 buy sounds like a good time.

An updated plugin is now available which fixes the crash issue and once again syncs collections. Please install v0.0.4 - download link here https://outof.cards/hearthstone/decktracker-plugin/

HDT changed the way they handle collections in the client so we updated to use their new logic. They also did some Mercenaries specific stuff so we'll have to look into that down the line so we can sync that stuff for folks too.

This article very clearly doesn't use any of our card reveal article conventions =/

Moved this to the correct forum.

I'm aware of an issue with the plugin not working with the latest deck tracker version. Completed swamped at the moment though so I haven't been able to look into it. Hoping to get this resolved as soon as possible, which is most likely after reveal season is done.

    Sorry for the trouble!

Nvm, just confirmed on Twitter that its a mistake.

Regarding Scrapsmith's "alternate" art: as orc art is correct, the dwarf art is not. The dwarf art was an accidental mismatch that made its way onto the site - this should get fixed after the holiday break!

IMO this stream isn't bad at all. They had to finish up their game they were in when the hour hit (it didn't take long) and then the card reveals started afterward. They're talking about the cards much like any other content creator would, the difference is its live this time instead of prerecorded. Its basically just a long YouTube premiere.

The problematic live reveals are the ones that bullshit for 10-15 minutes, or the sites that forget they even have a reveal, so you're sitting around for a single card for all that time. This time we're getting 11 cards. Worth the wait!

Ah, homepage and then click on the "Forums" button that is on the page (not the navigation). It is where all the Sidebar content lives that one would normally have access to on a desktop view.

Forums is a bit of a shitty name for it of course. There was a point in time where there was only forum threads listed on the sidebar, and sidebar feels a bit weird of a name for mobile. Sigh.

It literally says its 11 card reveal and afterward they state they will also be reviewing them.

Also, Blizzard retweets confirm its a big reveal.

To keep things clean, probably not. We always go with Blizzard time (Pacific), Site time (Eastern), and then generally Europe since that's our second largest source of traffic.

I recommend checking out the card reveal countdown page for Fractured in Alterac Valley for anyone that doesn't want to do any time zone math, or to look at the sidebar on the homepage or Hearthstone portal.
