I'm still shocked from the return of Pirate Warrior ... It isn't as potent - read ''cancerous'' - as it used to be, but still ... PW in 2020, who would have thought!
To get the discussion back to your thread title(s) ;
Priest never really been a ''minion'' class, and when it been decklists centered on minions, there was whether very few of them in a list - and not necessarily class exclusive ones either - or they were really situational. Having a Galankrond's effect that randomly generates class restricted minions from a pool of minion that doesn't see much play - unless said deck is built around their effects - is pretty underwhelming on its own ; it can be good, sometimes, but most of the time just some random stuff to populate your board.
And as for the deck builder, the AI is smart, to some extend ; it will cook up what - on paper - has the highest winrate recorded across their inner data collection system, from what's available to your collection. In that fashion, ''Smart deck builder AI'' will candidly add Hench-Clan Thug to your list, as it is fair to assume it holds a victorious track record when used, drawn and played, but not necessarily in your Priest built. You wanted a Galakrond's list, but the AI went with, regardless of the only card you added in, here's the best I can do for priest, in the current recorded meta, with the collection you have.
So, in conclusion - addressing both side of the title - basically, smart AI was just trying to steer you away from Galakrond Priest to help you win some games ^^
Was that Nerf really that needed? Genuine Question.
I only encountered a handfull of Gala-Warriors (mostly in Wild), but that Card was never a problem, not even buffed up.
Gala-War in Wild?! That's like the fringe of a fraction of a marginal sub-group within a minority that plays it there, unlike Standard, where it is a strong Tier 1 option. The Nerf is not only fair but also well deserved ; can't believe they printed that without seeing how crazy OP it is. I would still play it at 5 mana! 3 was just too greedy
Agreed for Kronx - it is a must have in most Galakrond's list - but also having only one Town Crier forced me to be creative. For instance, it allowed me to have one flex spot to adjust and counter ; Spellbreaker and Acidic Swamp Ooze been prime laddering companions, to only list a few.
Yes, I personally had best result with the mana package, Arcane Giant and Mana Giant but do note that Giant Anaconda isn't actually gigantic... disappointing synergy if you ask.
That kind of transparency and check in with the community is the reason why I didn't hesitate to transfer all here when HearthPwn's end was first made public. It didn't took long to feel like it was home, and it kept getting better. The progressive enhancement and growth been not only fun to witness but inspiring to take part in. A simple ''Thank you'' doesn't seem do justice to the hard work that you guys have accomplished. Looking forward for 2020 ; OoC is THE place to be!
PS: I also think the partnership with HSReplay is worth mentioning when covering 2019'S event ;)
I don't think the meta class popularity fluctuations can be explained, a any given time, with a single event. It takes awfully a lot of coincidence, momentum and sheer luck to start up a trend.
RNG - mhe
For when your card game isn't already RNG dependent enough ...
Yet an other cheap mech for paly with a keyword to build upon
Talking about pressure and disturbing someone else game's plan ^^
Also, a demon - Yay!
Can't wait to see the Hero Power that comes with it.
The Battlecry is hilariously OP!
... Yogg-tastic news everyone ; Hero power been disclosed
This 35 cards add-on to DoD seems promising!
Love the watermark for that mini-expansion too
There is still time to play before it happens - so meanwhile this article is relevant
"Could also be used for deranking.''
Now that's purposeful ; you don't have to concede if your list can't even win ^^

TL:DR: Galakrond priest is weak, AI is Smart
''Webspinners are so passé'' turns out they are aware of that
Even with this ''nerf'', she is still a singleton powerhouse.
If anything, it just tone it down to great instead of brokenly divine.

Like bartender Bob would say in a Battleground setting : '' I like where (they)'re going with this '' ^^

I really wonder what the up coming nerfs on Galakronds will look like
Pressure selling at its finest ; might as well pretend they are running out of supplies ^^

Oh I see, my bad. And without actual data, all I have is an opinion.
