Depending on the deck you’re running it’s not so bad, a lot of the decks I went up against either seemed to be really aggressive (secret mage, pirate warrior, mech pally/hunter) or heavier control decks (I’d count Rez priest and the shaman decks I went up against as that at least).
Yeah it gets frustrating to go up against meta decks and lose, but it isn’t that difficult to make a deck that has a decent win rate against most of them. The only time when I feel like there’s definitely something wrong with the game is when you’re up against someone who consistently makes mistakes and obviously barely understands what they’re doing, but they still manage to win
I decided to start grinding up the ranks with my midrange hunter and I haven’t really had any problems with seeing counters. The decks that counter me are pretty evident too, anything that floods the board a lot is a likely loss for me (Don’t have anywhere near the board clears to beat something like the Warlock Galakrond or really aggressive Pirate/Murloc decks). I’ve seen plenty of different types of decks along the way and not many of them have been that bad of a matchup.
Even in the past I don’t remember any times it felt like something was up, my good and bad matchups were generally split enough that I wouldn’t rank up, but I wouldn’t go down in ranks much either
There are a few more cases where technically a card could fall into multiple of the current tribes. Chromaggus should be a dragon and a beast I believe, since he’s a core hound with dragon dna. Skyfin could probably be similar. If they ever implemented an undead tribe there’d be a good amount of crossover between the other tribes already, a plant tribe could have a bit of crossover as well. As with demons, something could become part demon I believe, like Illidan. Largely the reason why there isn’t much crossover is because they’re specifically trying to avoid it I think.
One way they could do it for the tag would be to have each one have a 2-3 letter way of shortening it, like Bst, Dmn, Mrl, etc. That’d definitely give enough room for two (maybe even three) tags to fit on a card
The 8/8 was way too much for arena that early, since if any early dragons are dropped then the opponent will instantly have board control. In one deck I have drafted getting 2 of them basically carried me to 8 wins on their own I’m pretty sure
Yeah I’ve been seeing people having problems with that. Mainly seems to be with rush, but I think I heard someone saying it happened with another one too. When I was playing a lot of the time it was the tooltip that’s seemed to be causing problems. Sometimes the keyword would get stuck on the board too for the rest of the game
Try playing WoW for 10 years straight & having very rare tcg mounts/items that you ground out months' worth of gold for handed out on the BMAH copy pasta style like it was nothing.
I'm hardly salty over Blizzard giving away old cardbacks or heroes in HS. The only 'work' HS players put into cosmetics is pretty much summed up as "Did I spend a few dollars during this promotion?" or "Did I bother playing a few games on ranked across an entire month to get this one random card back?"
This argument pretty much holds no water in HS when compared to many of the other Blizzard games where in many instances you almost do have to make the game your 'job outside of work' to get rare, hard, or super grindy stuff sometimes.
Yeah, I’d only really understand the argument if it was actually something vaguely difficult you had to do for it. A lot of the arguments I see against Blizzard making these older cosmetics available again relies on the idea that it was in some way invalidating what they had done before to get it. It’s really only the heroic cardbacks I could understand that for, and even they barely qualify for that to me (because of how much of a joke it is it get a lot of them).
It makes sense to be upset that they’re giving out stuff you put a lot of effort into getting, but if newer players are putting in basically the same amount of effort you put into getting it, then it’s not really as meaningful of an achievement as you’re making it out to be
I don't get why these new scrubs are downvoting you, because this is so true, blizzard is super shitty for doing stuff like this.... We older players don't apparently mean shit to them, we made the game being kept online possible but no, they just want more and more, greedy shits, that's what they are. New players stop downvoting the truth!
I’ve been playing since GvG and I still think that this argument is kind of ridiculous. Like, I could understand it if it was some collectible you could get for accomplishing something at a certain time (like maybe being one of the first however many people to beat a difficult boss or something), but getting upset at them bringing back monthly cardbacks and other similar things really doesn’t make sense to me.
The thing is, the things that they’re bringing back are little more than participation trophies. For Tyrande you only needed to do a free trial, and for the monthlies you just needed to get to rank 20/win 5 ranked games (depending on when it was). Waving around a participation trophy as proof that you were there is just that, proof that you were there. Not that you actually accomplished anything interesting, just that you decided to play the game that month.
For the most part the people I see getting upset are the same people that are trying to argue that the monthly cardbacks are some kind of achievement, they really aren’t. These people need to just stop trying to act superior to newer players
Somehow I had managed to forget to do Chromatic Egg, probably had ended up skipping over that post on accident when I went through and voted on a bunch of them at once.
As a side note, has anyone else been having problems with the site leaving off periods from the end of a lot of their comments? Not sure if it’s because I’m on mobile or because there were so many more people posting, but through most of the reveal period my posts would often be missing the last key I typed on them for whatever reason. Only a few of them actually kept them on
I’d say one of the things that lead to it not doing better than Hearthstone was the aesthetic of it. It’s the same problem as when I try playing other cards games, they’re never that visually appealing. Hearthstone’s appeal is both that it’s not overly complicated like some games, but also that it’s really nice to look at. Whereas any time I’ve tried to play Eternal, or Arena, or Legends, I enjoy the games, but they always look really messy and a bit ugly comparatively.
Every now and then you’ll see people complaining about how childish all the artwork is for Hearthstone, and that these other games try to look much more mature, but to a lot of people the artwork of hearthstone looks really nice alongside the aesthetic of the boards and the menus
Basically 100-1000 gold for a legendary, so it should be. If it does still work, then it’d namely be TGT and GvG that weren’t possible to get with gold when it was introduced. Back then it was only the Classic set that was confirmed to not work
I’d say potentially hold off for a bit on doing it though, so that it can be confirmed whether or not it still works. Chances are I might end up making a post on the forums if it does work out.
I’d kind of prefer they keep Reckless the way it is right now, rather than reverting it. While for now Snip Snap was the only real problem for it, if they reverted it it’d always have that potential to become a problem. Hell, I think they should probably do the same thing to Mechwarper and any other cost reduction cards like that. Always has the potential to break something otherwise
Slightly worrying that there’s the potential for a premium currency now in the game. Just hope they’re not using the recent update to cover this up a bit, since a good few things people have been asking for will now be available
So back when they first released the guaranteed legendary within your first 10 packs of an expansion, it ended up making it so that if you bought packs from an expansion after that, the first 10 would still contain a legendary, even if you had gotten packs before they added in that feature.
So unless they specifically changed that, it should still work for the first few expansions, since I never heard anything about them fixing that
Would just prefer a Supercollider really, not that great
Or could be a sleeper thanks to the wording, yet I don't have any deathrattle in mind but it may still have potential
Yeah true, could be some interesting things done with that. Though that said, in the past Warrior would usually just use Shield Slam to trigger a deathrattle if they really wanted to.9
From what I remember it’s been in the forums tab for awhile

Nozdormu new meta 2020

Galakrond I’m guessing

It’s just that I was expecting their promise for Tyrande to be given away for free again to be forgotten like a lot of the stuff they talk about
They’re actually offering the Wild expansions and adventures for gold now and giving Tyrande for free again
Someone pinch me, this couldn’t possibly be real.
Yeah true, could be some interesting things done with that. Though that said, in the past Warrior would usually just use Shield Slam to trigger a deathrattle if they really wanted to.9
I’m definitely up for more hunter skins, hopefully not gonna be another paidone.
