It isn't about stopping people from being upset. Big Priest will always be hated, because it is a toxic, flawed archetype.

It is about giving a clear answer instead of stalling. People will still complain, obviously, but at the very least they won't expect Blizzard to do anything about it if they say so.

I really would like the Hunter reward to be a hero power Lock and Load, but I recognize it would probably be a bad idea.

I really would like the Mage reward to be Unstable Portal hero power, but I recognize it would probably be a bad idea

I really would like the Rogue reward to be a Hallucination hero power, but I recognize it would probably be a bad idea

I really would like that no quest was related to murlocs, and that is probably not a bad idea, but Blizzard might do it regardless

I really would like that the warrior quest wasn't related to rush, but I recognize it would probably be a good idea.

For the record, this is the art the actual Sir Finley card will be using.

    Looks pretty kickass the me.

Oh. I didn't know that was the art. I see nothing wrong with this art at all. On the contrary, I quite like it. Finley even has his jawline and machete back. Thanks for sharing!

Hello, fellas and fellasses. Today, I'd like to ask about your opinion about how the four members of the League of Explorers look in their newest versions.

Personally, I'd like to analyze them each, starting with

    The Best, Reno and Elise

What can I say? Reno looks perfect and in sync with what we know of his personality. He looks cocky, charismatic, I really, really think he is the best design of the four by far. Last we saw him was in Karazhan with... mixed opinions... mainly comparing him to a porno character. Here, I'll say Reno looks as much an explorer as he should, hands-down the more fittingly heroic and charismatic of the four. This version gets my thumbs up.

As for Elise, well, I can't say her design matches her previous personality, but I'll say I love it anyway. Who knows, maybe even the most negative, no-fun-allowed people become smiley when confronted by villainy? Besides, they made her even more beautiful than before, somehow. Maybe after 2 versions in the past we'll finally get an Elise version that smiles like her friends. No complaints here from me either.

    Brann

I have a more neutral attitude towards Brann. He looks younger, and admittedly better, of course. However... Why does he look like he wants to rip everyone's head off? Don't get me wrong, I still think he looks cool, just a bit... insane, I guess? It's not a thumbs-down from me, but maybe I am alone in this. Also, as I got the two pictures together, I just realized he looks a lot scarier and less friendly in his original art than I thought, so there's that. Still, if we take his personality into account, we know he isn't a psycho, right?

    Finley

Ugh... How do I say this? Finley looks... intellectually impaired? For a character whose gimmick is being the classiest and possibly smartest of his species (even if it isn't a hard thing to achieve), that is not a good thing. He no longer looks much like a gentlemanly explorer murloc, as much as a stupid murloc that happened to find a monocle and an explorer hat, like Murloc Tastyfin. I might get more infuriated than reasonable with his new design, but I haven't seen anyone else talk about this. Am I alone here?

So... that's all I have to say. Do you disagree? Is Finley actually the greatest visual update known to man and I just don't get it? Am I just terrible at reading cartoony facial expressions? Go right ahead and post your opinion.

Yeah, he's been in my crafting list for a while now. Once the next expansion launches I'm pretty sure I'll go no further without him.

Everyone underrated Yogg when he was leaked in WotOG too. I sincerely hope Blizzard doesn't butcher this card for the sake of E-Sports again, and instead bans it if people get mad.

Very fun and efficient deck. +1! My only issue is against Pogo Rogue, but nothing is invincible.

I ended up replacing Hex Lord Malacrass for Sindragosa for purely monetary reasons, but the results have been great regardless.

Even Archmage Arugal, who I've never found a use for until now, manages to occasionally do his job.

The only card here I'm not so sure about is Stargazer Luna. Most games I either tempo her out to force my enemy to waste resources, or end up drawing relatively little due to the deck's mana costs in general. Still, very few complaints about her either, and I can't think of a better draw engine to replace her with, so I'm keeping her too.

Personally, I think bringing Patron Warrior back would at the very least put a dent in Odd Paladin's playrate, along with other aggro decks. By itself that is a good thing.

I'm just not certain about restoring it to its old form or a new one that prevents big Frothing Berserkers to gain charge too. She could have an aura that grants minions with 3 attack or less charge, instead of granting it once they are summoned.

Regardless of the change chosen, I wouldn't mind seeing Patron Warrior regaining power. I think point 5 is actually the best reason. It's been a while since Hearthstone has been populated by decks that make you feel like you lost to someone smart, or at least smarter than you.

I like opening them one by one. 40 dust is a huge disappointment, but usually hope is the last to die.

I definitely agree that the dev team is doing great in terms of nerfs, buffs (BUFFS??!!!), communication, and working towards goals that are clearly community driven. I hope that turns towards some new game mode entry soon, though. And I definitely don't mean soonTM. :D

This is a very good point. Blizzard has managed to do a lot of the things the community has been suggesting for years. Regular nerfs, buffs, introductions to the Classic Set... The interactions between expansions are, as far as I know, an unmentioned idea among the HS playerbase, so the more respect to them.

A new game mode could really mark the HS Renaissance that 2019 has been!

That is exactly why the pricing structure will never change. The game got more expensive every year and just because of one good expansion, ppl forget, that the complete previous HS year was mostly garbage.

I can understand why ppl still pay for packs, but at least wait until all the cards are revealed.

You're right. Last year sucked. Nearly everyone, regardless of their allegiance to Blizzard, has agreed on that. You must understand, however, that last year Blizzard made less than half the money they made in 2017. In other words, they reaped what they sowed.

Of course, about waiting for more cards to be revealed, I also agree, but some people might not. Given it is their money, it is their choice and their loss if they pre-order too early into a bad expansion.

Personally, I think pre-ordering should be more about whether or not you think the company has earned your money, less about the overall power level. In my case, if Blizzard's upcoming expansion looks fun or interesting enough (in conjunction with the factors in my previous post), I'll probably pre-order because I will feel like they deserve my money.

I was quite vehemently against pre-orders last year after I made the mistake of pre-ordering Witchwood. Throughout the Year of the Raven, I was proven right to do so, unfortunately.

This year, however, Blizzard has managed to improve a lot. A lot, a lot. And I do mean A LOT.

    • Rise of Shadows was a great expansion
    • The devs are actively touching the game and improving it instead of letting it die between updates
    • The Dalaran Heist was awesome beyond any other single player content released so far, even if I disagreed with the pricing
    • Classic got new cards to renew the meta a little
    • Hall of Fame rotations mid-year, love them or hate them, stem from a desire to keep the game fresh and do it

There's plenty to be happy about

So, to be honest, I'm considering it. Not just because LoE still stands as one of the best expansions HS had to date, but because I actually feel Blizzard has improved and learned enough to deserve it. Besides, they're giving us a new Yogg and Elise is beautiful. I'm not sure if I'll go for the Mega-Bundle, either, but I definitely see myself buying it if the cards they reveal look fun.

I'm thinking a freeze effect, a 'Give a friendly minion +1/+1', a silence or a draw a card. Simple, cheap things that can really grant you an advantage at the right moment.

Aren't we bound to get more lackeys this expansion?

If that is the case, this card is a bit reliant on what those are, along with the previous lackey-generating ones.

China's HS playerbase must be gargantuan for this to happen. Then again, this by itself is not surprising.

This reminds me of LoL's visual updates or art updates. Most of them look better, but it is odd to see them at first.

As for the desexualization of the cards, I don't really care. I never played Hearthstone to have a wank, nor do I know anyone who does. This issue is (probably) minor.

Also, I really dislike catering to a dictator-like censorship for the sake of profit, but then again every single entity in the world that caters to China does so solely because money exists. This is hardly a Blizzard issue.

Also also: Windfury Harpy? Really? We are censoring that card? Even in the Classic Set we can find better fap material, if that was what rustled their jimmies.

I took it as a checkpoint to mark their design philosophy taking these rules more seriously from now on. The rotation of Mind Blast and Vanish seems to match the ideology they are trying to push forward. Blizzard has broken these rules in the past, obviously, but that might not have been ideal.

I think they are doing the opposite of what the Year of the Mammoth did; instead of merging most classes' strengths and weaknesses together and letting each deck be its own thing, they are pushing each class towards its own thing and making it more unique.

Of course, we'll have to wait until the next set to see if this is correct or not, but I am expecting none of the imposed weaknesses or limitations of each class to be 'fixed' by the upcoming cards.
