Have you pre-ordered the expansion yet?

And if not, will you?
I have. Best thing about pre-order for me at least are the heroes. We just need more of them. :)

I am probably going to but i'm not sure i care to purchase the new hero. $100 CAD yikes.

I'll probably be buying it this weekend.
I don't know, usually I don't preorder but this time Elise looks amazing and some extra packs aren't bad, because I started too late to keep gold for the expansion
Not everyone is mother tongue! Roar.
never miss a pre order, will prob sit this one out depending on the cards
Already have. Both of them. And I'll probably get another 60 packs just after release. Aside from Brightwing i have a Complete Collection of both Wild and Standard Cards and don't want to slip behind.
Lordy that's quite sad.... 😔
Cocked, locked and ready to rock...
I was quite vehemently against pre-orders last year after I made the mistake of pre-ordering Witchwood. Throughout the Year of the Raven, I was proven right to do so, unfortunately.
This year, however, Blizzard has managed to improve a lot. A lot, a lot. And I do mean A LOT.
There's plenty to be happy about
So, to be honest, I'm considering it. Not just because LoE still stands as one of the best expansions HS had to date, but because I actually feel Blizzard has improved and learned enough to deserve it. Besides, they're giving us a new Yogg and Elise is beautiful. I'm not sure if I'll go for the Mega-Bundle, either, but I definitely see myself buying it if the cards they reveal look fun.
Psst! Hey, you want to play a couple of fun (albeit pointless) gamebooks? Become a king here, and a babysitter here.
I havent yet
but will, that Reno Flex convinced me
Will probably end up getting both the pre-orders.
Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.
I'm waiting to see what the cards look like. I don't play druid much but hate the $80 paygate for heroes. I haven't ever gotten the preorder though.
sure thing.. i just wait maybe for amazon coins to be cheaper
And all these answers show pretty well, whats wrong these days in games.
There are barely any cards known thus far and the new keywords are refurbished old effects and yet ppl keep pre-ordering.
That is exactly why the pricing structure will never change. The game got more expensive every year and just because of one good expansion, ppl forget, that the complete previous HS year was mostly garbage.
I can understand why ppl still pay for packs, but at least wait until all the cards are revealed.
I'll wait until the end of the month, when my first paycheck arrives and most of the cards are revealed, to see if it's a good thing to pre-order.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
You're right. Last year sucked. Nearly everyone, regardless of their allegiance to Blizzard, has agreed on that. You must understand, however, that last year Blizzard made less than half the money they made in 2017. In other words, they reaped what they sowed.
Of course, about waiting for more cards to be revealed, I also agree, but some people might not. Given it is their money, it is their choice and their loss if they pre-order too early into a bad expansion.
Personally, I think pre-ordering should be more about whether or not you think the company has earned your money, less about the overall power level. In my case, if Blizzard's upcoming expansion looks fun or interesting enough (in conjunction with the factors in my previous post), I'll probably pre-order because I will feel like they deserve my money.
Psst! Hey, you want to play a couple of fun (albeit pointless) gamebooks? Become a king here, and a babysitter here.
I may be later during the next paycheck. Right now I'm all locked down after a very pricey action figure purchase XP
I will, I'm just saving up for the $80 bundle. I usually wait to see all the cards revealed first, then buy it at the last minute mostly to see if I win a giveaway or something :P
I will pass this time.
[Golden] [Hearthstone Card (Counterfeint Coin) Not Found], [Golden] [Hearthstone Card (Counterfeint Coin) Not Found], [Golden] The Coin -> Happy [Golden] [Hearthstone Card (Edwin Van Cleef) Not Found]
Haven't pre-purchased yet, I usually tend to wait until at least ~75% of the cards are released. I don't feel too confident in putting my money on a product based on hype alone.
If I do end up pre-purchasing, I will probably just get the 80 packs + hero deal, although to be honest - unlike many people here, I kind of feel like Elise is a bit lackluster as a druid skin. I'm also a bit disappointed that we're getting another night-elf druid, I really wish Blizzard would introduce more races to each class. That being said, I completely agree with the Elise skin both from a flavor point of view, and from a buisness view (LoE is a fan favorite expansion, and the main heroes are mostly liked by fans - to the point of seeing Elise for a 3rd time now).
Why? If people are going to Pre Order then that's up to them. At the end of the day it's people like me, with a large chunk of disposable income every month, that keep the game free for everyone else that can't or won't pay for it. And yet people still complain..
What's wrong with modern gaming goes much, much deeper than a Pre Order Culture.
That's why I've refused to buy into this current generation of Consoles. There have been zero games released since the Xbone and the PS4 hit that made me want to go out and buy one. Not to mention the sleazy practices of companies like EA, Ubisoft, Konami and yes, Acti-Blizz.
Gone are the days of buying a game and having the whole thing available for you to peruse and play at your leisure.
Cocked, locked and ready to rock...
I do not agree. You just have to play different games. Good old single player games for example . Like Horizon Zero Dawn, God of war, Red dead redemption 2.
Not every game is a service game now. It's always your choice.
Good old Single Player Games with Microtransactions you mean? Like Red Dead 2, that is not a good choice for your argument there.
90% of the 'AAA' Games released these days cost upwards of $60-100 and have Microtransactions in them. That's just gross.
Anyway, this is fast becoming a topic for something else. Let's just say that you believe one thing and I believe another and leave it at that. That's the beauty of opinions.
Cocked, locked and ready to rock...
Haven't pre-ordered yet - but knowing me i surely will do it in the next few days :)
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
I will buy both. Two golden legendaries! But I wait until prime day - maybe there is a cheap coin offer.
Not doing it this time. Have somewhat good amount of gold and dust and is saving up. Card back and Hero doesn't really grasp my interest.
I usually pre-order all bundles whenever an expansion is announced but I haven't been having that much fun with HS lately. I know my opinion is a fairly isolated one but I don't think the meta is that good or balanced, I don't enjoy playing against control warrior (yawn...) or mech hunter (which just ignores the board and goes face every turn, in other words brain-dead) and those are the decks I seem to face most of the time. Some of Team 5s decisions are just ludicrous, example: mind blast in to hall of fame when priest is the lowest win rate deck in the game right now? But nothing done about warriors, hunters and mages running rampant on ladder?
I honestly don't believe Team 5 know what they are doing and they're just winging it.
For those reasons I doubt I'll bother unless these recent cards introduced make some sort of dent on the current meta (and it doesn't seem like they have).
I will likely preorder but want to see more of the expansion first. I do like the new Druid skin, but there’s no Druid decks I’ve been wanting to play, so I have no need for it. And they did just release Lunara last year
I make bad custom Hearthstone cards sometimes.
This is the first expansion that I'm going to wait for most of the cards to be revealed to decide if I preorder. I have the unpopular opinion of not being happy with the state of the meta and if the cards show to enforce certain classes that are always on top then no preorder for me.
Indeed Wont be amazon offer this time, ambassadors are telling it.
A wide range of opinions on the topic here, and it's great to read.
I have pre-ordered most sets (generally skipping the end-of-year expac b/c money goes to xmas gifts) and I did an $80 bundle for one (Mecha-JAX).
The game has not really kept my interest over the last 6 months. RoS brought mechs with a very heavy hand and did not feel fresh and new to me. Too much throw-back to GvG now SoU promises to revisit the LoE crew? It's just too much being piled up with a definite feeling of "re-skinned" content. The Dalaran Heist only added to that feeling, as a mashup of Dungeon Run & Monster Hunt.
At this point, my wallet stays closed until a truly new game mode is launched. I'm sitting on 8k gold and 8k dust after using 700 gold on wing 2 recently, so I'll be able to buy plenty of packs/arena runs.
I definitely agree that the dev team is doing great in terms of nerfs, buffs (BUFFS??!!!), communication, and working towards goals that are clearly community driven. I hope that turns towards some new game mode entry soon, though. And I definitely don't mean soonTM. :D
Now you kids are probably saying to yourselves, "Hey Matt, how can we get back on the right track?"
Such an expensive habit. Not this time! I've more than enough gold.
...actually who am I kidding. Need more packs.
We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us.
Yea, I ordered both bundles. Summer expansions release nearby by my birthday and vacation at the same time, so I it's kinda gift to myself. Usually I buy one bundle only, but summer.
No, and I don't plan on it either. If anything, I'll pay cash for the solo content once we find out what it is, but I haven't been able to afford a preorder since the mini bundle they once offered.
The end of days is coming. Doomsayer was right all along.
I'll preorder because I know I want at least that many packs. You say we barely know any of the cards so far. That doesn't really matter.
That has never been a deciding factor. I like opening packs. I also like playing with cards that I've never used before. And I will want a good amount of Legendary cards to start.
Who knows, maybe I'll have a good run like I did during Boomsday.
No matter if the cards are good or bad, everyone will be using them because they are the new set, and they will shape the meta. Guaranteed.

This is a very good point. Blizzard has managed to do a lot of the things the community has been suggesting for years. Regular nerfs, buffs, introductions to the Classic Set... The interactions between expansions are, as far as I know, an unmentioned idea among the HS playerbase, so the more respect to them.
A new game mode could really mark the HS Renaissance that 2019 has been!
Psst! Hey, you want to play a couple of fun (albeit pointless) gamebooks? Become a king here, and a babysitter here.
Of course, I will but why miss a chance to grouse about Blizzard and shady deals and they shit they pull day in and day out. Joking aside, I believe operations and content have improved substantially since the re-org and appreciate the direction of the managers of the new shop. Props :), I even bought that wild bundle for dust, well played.
All that you see is but a judgment against yourself.
I haven't pre-ordered and not sure if I will. I'm going to try to accumulate as much gold as possible and see if I can use it to buy lots of packs. This game is expensive when you spend money on it, sales and discounts or not. I am glad they offer pre-orders, because buying in bulk at the beginnning of a season is a good deal. Still, I try to save up gold if I can. Not always possible, but sometimes it is. I bought fifty packs when Rise of Shadows was released, all with gold. It felt good not to have to spend the money.
Also, I'm cheap and I only buy things when they're on sale. Or, I should say, "on sale."
Probably not going to pre-order: I bought the Heist and the Wild bundle recently, so I've spent enough money on Hearthstone for now. I got a lot of dust on the rotation and haven't spent much of it yet, so if I don't draw the cards I want from the packs I buy with gold, I can just craft them.
I cut myself off at splurging on the Heist. I'm really happy I bought the Heist adventure, it has been a lot of fun to play with. I was sooo tempted to spring on the Wild bundle. But I exerted the restraint on myself. I hope you continue to accumulate dust. It's really hard to maintain a big dust balance. I always find myself low on dust. It's a goal of mine to find a way to really accumulate dust and not have to spend it
The next expansion is almost out already?
Damn, that was quick.
But I have 7000 gold so I should be okay. Saving my money this time around.
The pre-order bundle will be the only discount for quite some time.
I've got amazon coins to use so yeah I will definitely buy the 50 pack bundle. The 19% discount is nice to have! Not sure I'd pay full price in British pounds.
I always wait until the last minute incase they have a "5% coins back" deal for the HS app. But they've not had that in like 2 years so... Live in hope, I guess.
I will not preorder the new expansion, because I buy the packs only with gold and craft the missing important cards with dust.
Actually I have 26k gold and > 40k dust, so I don't really need to buy with cash.
at this point if you're supporting anything that Blizzard does, you're part of the problem
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
I am about to be a homeowner, so I am having to be extremely heavy handed when it comes to loosening the purse strings right now. I might get one of them but not right now, it would be nice to see more cards before I commit to emptying my wallet.
I'm not dead yet.
Just waiting for payday!
I'll get the big bundle and and 70 packs with gold - that plus the 19k dust I'm sitting on should be enough
I have nearly 11k of gold and I intend to pre-order yes but I want to see the cards first. Seeing the hero power of shaman which seems OP AF, I need to see that the other classes, specially Mage, gets some good cards too.
Which one? I have a decent Bandai Namco set of Nintendo figures that cost a pretty penny. I wish I could get more but man hey damage your bank account hah
I’m sitting on 3.5 gold and 8k dust and my problem is that I’m considering switching to wild. I’m in love with kovachuts priest dec and if I should really craft it, that would eat all my dust and then some. So... I’m basically waiting for the reveals to make up my mind if I should preorder and which one.
I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?
Harry James Potter-Evans-Verres, hpmor.com
Probably getting both, but waiting anyways
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
I have been buying all new expantion preorders ( the 50 $ one or sometimes the 80 $ one ) since pretty much beta ( expect one or two expantion/adventure )
however, this time I won't be buying the new expantion preorder at all, I have been very bored with hearthstone lately, having nearly no intent to play the game more than daily quests and free arena run tickets, before I usually enjoyed to grind the ladder a bit, to legend even sometimes, but nowadays I nearly not even enjoy grinding past rank 5 anymore and after I get rank 5 I usually already play the meme decks I would play if i reached legend and pretty much don't care about the game anymore appart from the fun aspect...
Also the HS streamers/youtubers I used to like watching like kolento, thjis, kripp and trump I skip entirely nowadays and only still watch Dane and Kibler and that's pretty much it for HS content ! Other streamers/YTrs I used to watch like sajvz, dog, toast, sjow have already abandoned the game, and to be fair, nearly am I !
so this expantion will be a no for me, I will only be spending my gold on this one ! I'm enjoying playing other steam games way more and I already spend on the steam summer sale for 10+ games the money I would have payed for the HS expantion
Mfunn- justme
Haven't pre-oredered. Even though I can afford it, that's a little bit too much to spend 100$ every expansion.
I have pre-ordered every expansion to date and usually an additional 60 packs plus I have 5k gold saved up. I like to keep a complete collection, don't mind if there not all golden though as that would be very expensive. The only thing I haven't bought in hearthstone is the 3 heroes at £10 each :( I really want magni and alleria someday unless we get other cool heroes with an expansion in future.
I enjoy hearthstone too much, I might not play it as much as others but its always there to keep me happy and I don't spend money on many other things as my work takes up a lot and don't get too much free time.
I never preoder, I find the bundles too expensive. I usually spend only 20 € (max 30) per expansion, plus some gold. I know the value is good, but I only play around 50 games/month, so it makes no sense for me to spend a lot of money in Hearthstone.
The pleasure is mine.
My last standard decks: nothing special right now.
Probably won't preorder... I can't really afford it atm I am a student and I think it's waaay too expensive for me right now..
Maybe when I get a job.. not right now.
I'm seriously considering not pre-ordering it this time. I've been barely playing HS nowadays due to annoying/boring meta. Plus I've been having a lot more fun with mtga. I haven't gotten salty at all when playing it, even when there are so many cancerous mono red decks out there.
I don't think I'll ever stop playing HS completely, but I've gotten wary of pre-ordering when the game has gotten so stale for me. It doesn't feel worth it.
I spent hundreds of dollars last year in Hearthstone, and some more earlier this year for RoS. Bought all the bundles for the last 4 expansions I think. But a year of hunter meta has worn me out, even though I don't even play that much anymore, so I don't think I'll order this time.
Please don't take this as some great observation that is begging for counter-arguments, but for me it's been disappointing to see how little meaningful use there is for most of the cards, especially the ones I find really exciting in terms of their design. This is why I don't see any reason anymore to keep collecting all the cards. I think I'll just wait and craft some fun ones and go 100% to casual play with little attempt to actually win games.
It's nice they're doing more things to keep the game fresh, but for me it's been too little. I'd like to see a more daring, stimulating shake-up of the whole game, not just cosmetic changes, or treats such as free legendaries or Twitch drops.
I do have a Complete Collection in Wild and Standard and tend to just Meme around for the entire Season. As long as I keep up with the Expansions I'll be happy.
I have pre-ordered both Bundles and have enough money in my Blizzard Balance for another 120 Packs. So it looks like I'll be opening 250 packs on the 6th.
Hopefully that'll be enough....
Cocked, locked and ready to rock...
Thanks to the "gift" of 3 free days of WoW time, I was able to go in and clear my WoW gold for some Blizzard Balance. Got the 80 packs for $50. Not bad since I don't play WoW anymore. (BfA is atrocious)
probably not, the reason behind this is because of "quest" cards.
Never was a fan, don't like it consuming your opening hand slot, things like that.
So, it's very unlikely for pre-ordering.
oh yeah, the adventure mode sapping 2800 gold coins didn't make me motivate for the next expansion either.
Nope, too expensive for me. Hate this trend of locking skins beyond 80$ as well.
I am not sure I will pre-order, but I might clear out my World of Warcraft gold. I think I have a million gold, so that is good for at least 7 WoW tokens or $105 in Blizzard dollars.
We cannot have over 100 bucks in Blizzard balance, which could have possible from using all of those WoW tokens from WoW gold.
I bought the preorder so I could all the available tokens.
edit: I wrote this so if there are peeps out there who, like me, got into HS via MtG and have been on the fence about trying Arena, I want to say: go for it, it seems brilliant. And if you, like me, tend to put real money in HS, perhaps this is a good time to direct your coins towards Magic. The rotation is coming up soon, so you'll get a fresh start. /edit
Installed Magic Arena last week, fell in love, will probably not spend any more money, perhaps not even time, on HS. Initially, I got into HS because all the online versions of MTG were pretty horrible. HS has been good, but I've waited two years to see something new to happen and realized it's never going to come.
(Not saying Magic is some god level game or anything, but its mechanics are more interesting and there's so much more to do with the different draft modes etc.)
So yeah, am not giving any more money to Blizzard.
Have not, there's a very real chance I won't be continuing Hearthstone.
worst community ever
I have nearly have 13k gold right now. I am planning to the 50 usd bundle and use the gold to get a total of 180 packs. I am waiting to see all the cards before going ahead. If I am not satisfied with the cards, specially those of mage and Paladin, I will buy the 130 maybe 140 packs pack with gold only...
ah one more thing: For me, the most exciting part of each new expansion is always the mechanics. After they've been released, I am not that into knowing about specific cards, since they are just realizations of those said mechanics. And the new expansion (like RoS tbh, lackeys were such a small thing afterall) don't have anything on that front, so not really even looking forward to opening the extra packs I got :/ Pity!
Ok I t stop complaining now! :D
I got. Elise is a very awesome hero skin. I wish blizzard would do a skin bundle with another 3 heroes : Finley, Brann and Reno.
This is my first opportunity to pre-purchase. I went the whole hog and got the mega bundle. I can't afford to do it for every expansion but I think once a year is fine.
I am pretty excited to see what cards I end up with.
Aberlour 18 Year Old, Balvenie DoubleWood 12, Caol Ila 12, The Arran Malt 14, Auchentoshan Three Wood, Kilchoman Islay 8th edition, Lagavulin 16 Year Old, Glenmorangie Signet, Talisker 10 Year Old.
Usually I have a Top 10 most wanted for legendaries and epics for the upcoming expansion. So far, nothing has made my list. :( The Big Four Heroes are pretty underwhelming.
This expansion has to bring back priest or slower warlock decks in standard, and I don't have my hopes up yet.
I almost didn't buy the last expansion -- I hate murlocs, I hate sticky aggro (treants, mechs), had a feeling Conjurer's Calling (yep) and paladin secrets (so far, nope) would be problems. Only Bomb Warrior and the control potential of shaman got my interest.
At the last minutes I took the $50 package and I managed to get almost everything I wanted (did have to spend a lot of dust for Big Shaman and Bomb Warrior). Been playing more wild than standard though.
I must admit, the single player stuff was pretty good for Rise of Shadows. That convinced me.
Favorite Deck (Standard): Big Shaman. (Wild): Fel Reaver Treachery Warlock
Deck I Want to See Succeed: Dragon decks (Dragon Shaman seems fun but is a few cards away), Portal Warlock, anything but Inner Fire Priests, and something for the golden High Inquisitor Whitemane I got from a brawl pack.
Deck I Want to See Less: Any Hunter, Trees or Murloc aggro.
Just pre-ordered the "small" package with 50 Packs because i will have enough gold to buy at least another 50 and i always have around 100-130 packs at the beginning.
