I would say Bru'kan of the Elements hands down, because it is indeed multi-functional as you mentioned yourself.

In Wild, he won me many many games in my Freeze Shudderwock Shaman deck to reach Legend. Such great fun!

In reply to Bru'kan or Bearon?

    Congratulations!

Can you share your feelings after you won against the gatekeeper opponent and became Legend?

By the way, you can now start every HS related sentence with "As a Legend player, I …" 🤣

Mini update: I reached level 150 and Legend in Wild along the way. Now waiting for the new patch with bugfixes and the upcoming mini-set, hopefully arriving soon™

The first time is always the biggest hurdle to overcome and has more added pressure. Personally, I no longer set out to have to reach Legend each season. It either happens naturally or it does not. The only difference is just 1 extra single latest expansion pack as the season reward. A mindset of not seeing it as a big thing should certainly help with reducing stress.

Good point, I forgot to take into account that you might be missing some of the required legendaries. Please do not dust cards to be able to play my suggested deck. The overall winrate is not better than Pirate Warrior anyways and piloting Freeze Shudderwock Shaman has to suit your playstyle as well.

As for the end of month factor, some months have one or even few more days than others. This fact might just make the slightest of differences 🤭

I managed to hit Legend again using Freeze Shudderwock Shaman this season. My heart was almost beating out of my chest when I was facing my gatekeeper opponent.

The deck feels really good and has a decent chance against all the meta decks, even facing Pirate Warrior, Odd Questline Hunter and C'Thun Spell Druid head on.

I must admit that most games against these 3 decks were very tight until the turning point which is usually between turns 6 and 9. Timewise, games take much longer though since it is a Control deck after all.

You can try and give this deck a spin if Pirate Warrior does not work out for you. Just make sure you understand the deck before taking it to the ranked ladder climb. Piloting it is pretty straightforward actually, but I can provide you with some tips if you like.

By the way, I think the Legend ladder climb is a bit easier nearing the end of each month, but I do not have proper statistics to back this hypothesis up. What do you all think?

Yeah, ranked ladder anxiety is a real thing. I have been Legend many many times before, but I still feel it whenever I reach rank 1 and then it starts to kick in. Having lost the 11 star bonus in the past also did not help.

If you pilot a deck with a decent winrate and you know what the meta is, reaching Legend will happen eventually. The first time is the most difficult, but the ecstatic feeling of the achievement is going to be amazing.

Good luck with the climb! You can do it.

Unhealthy much, but it was actually not even that difficult: 7200 / 8 / ((40 + 20 + 10) / 3) = 39. So, if you play about 39 games daily with a modest 50% winrate you could complete the Honor achievement. Considering most people played inefficient decks in the first few days and apparently there are more Alliance loyalists out there, it took me even less games in reality. I estimate about 275 games in total which is still a lot though, I know.

I must admit that being a Horde player I have yet to put Drek'Thar in any of my decks, but I have played a bunch of decks already with Vanndar Stormpike. I guess my playstyle is more similar to Control rather than Aggro.

I was just interested in how many Honor points I had acquired in the meantime as my contribution FOR THE HORDE! ^_^

EDIT: Considering I managed to complete the Honor achievement within 8 days, a linear extrapolation means I should have collected about 29K points estimated in the meantime.

I noticed a typo, you actually meant to write: For the Alliance Horde!

Currently trying to science the shit out of this issue and I notice for the Tavern Brawl achievement that if I click very fast between page 7/8 and page 8/8 there is a split second where my total is shown. I moved on to paste the screenshot in MS Paint which showed me: 3118 / 500. It seems (at least for me) that some code is quickly covering the total with the completion date.

Unfortunately the Honor points achievement does not have paging which means this little trick does not work over there.

EDIT: I must have spotted another error, because the total shown in a split second for the Warrior Victory achievement does not match with the total shown in the overview page (beneath the sword icon). I can only imagine that this small difference is due to the amount of wins I gained for playing with Diablo in Duels and that these wins are not registered properly everywhere. I kinda feel like Team 5 should just send me a job application or more preferrably a check (or a gift card at the very least) 😋

I have clicked the achievement and still only see the completion date and not my collected Honor points total. I tried both the PC client and Android app.

There must be another underlying issue here, because in the past I distinctly remember I could see how many Tavern Brawls I had won even after completing the whole achievement. None of the achievements show me the total now after having completed them.

24 days have passed since I completed the honor achievement, which means I must have contributed a considerable amount of points FOR THE HORDE! However, I do not see the total amount of points I collected, only the achievement completion date. I checked both the client and mobile app. Is there a secret combination, password or handshake to unlock this statistic? 🤣

Let us hope for the improving trend to continue and revisit this discussion when new achievements get introduced. Then we can review them in the same way. For now, we can only wait, remain critical and enjoy the game as it is currently.

You are definitely right that grindy achievements are better than the older hope to get lucky ones, especially if they are tied to owning legendaries (or epics). Thus, improvements have been made already, I agree. However, some of the newer grindy achievements just take too long to setup and we still need to do these in ranked games with uncompetitive cards where your opponent is most of the times just there to crush you.

I know these achievements are optional and I am not advocating they should simply turn them into free XP handouts, but there is still room for further improvements I feel.

What also does not help is that some of them are bugged and still not fixed which reduces our time frame to collect the attached XP which goes away just before the next expansion gets launched. I know there is still plenty of time to accomplish them though depending on if the fixes get released sooner than later.

As you suggested earlier this week dapperdog, perhaps we should indeed finally have a discussion about why these particular cards were chosen to create a specific and sometimes difficult grindy achievement around which will mostly lead to a horrible user experience. Are these achievements supposed to be fun, challenging or something completely different? Let us not forget to include their weird decision of only attaching XP for the most recent expansion achievements in this discussion which time and time again gets removed a week too early before the next expansion gets launched.
