The new Alexstrasza looked pretty broken even without this guy, imagine playing her at turn 7 (6 with coin) =D

Bingo. Turn 6, that dragon, and TWO zero-cost dragons (many of which have battlecry effects.)

This card will be the new pocket galaxy.

This is a great card. If Highlander decks take off this will be very popular.

This is already my most hated card from the expansion. This is ridiculously OP.

Card is insane. Imagine you copy this with Baleful Banker or something similar. You could play it, draw Galakrond, replay it, etc.

Cards are like this are so powerful, it makes me wonder how any of the non-Galakrond classes have a hope in hell for this upcoming meta.

Actually made it to legend with this version of Evolve Shaman. Not terribly original, but I wanted to use the Thing From Below before it rotates back to Wild.

Just played against Snip Snap Warlock for the first time. (I don't play Wild very often.)  Sweet merciful heaven, what was that? I can't believe that is allowed to exist. It makes everything in Standard seem totally fine.

Mana Tide Totem only gives you a single draw. Nightmare Amalgam literally does nothing. Thing from Below is only good in wild with discounted hero powers and/or Totem Golem.

Spirit of the Frog is a card that you use to cycle through all your burn spells. It can draw you multiple cards on the initial turn, and even more if it survives (which it usually does thanks to the stealth for 1 turn part). It makes the deck far, far more consistent.

As to why you feel like you have more success without it... That could either be variance, or you dropping it too early. You can play it without having any spells in hand to bait out removal if you're playing against a slow deck. Otherwise it's usually best to keep it so that you can chain multiple spells with it.

Thank you. I think this comes down to me needing to "play smarter"... I will try! :)

I see many pro players post the Evolve Shaman decks they have used to hit legend, or take to tournaments, with Spirit of the Frog.  Indeed, one player I respect online posted recently he wonders why anyone doesn't include this card in a Shaman deck.

But is it that great? When I play Evolve Shaman I get bad results if I include Spirit of the Frog.  I've had much better luck running a deck with Mana Tide Totem, Nightmare Amalgam and Thing from Below.  I just hit rank 1 with this deck and hoping to make it to legend this month.

Has anyone else had this problem? I wonder when I can't succeed with the "best decklist" for a class if I simply have some kind of Hearthstone cognitive block. Or is it really just a matter of personal preference?

Anyway, would love to hear everyone's thoughts. And yes, I've watched streamers use the "best decklist"... I still can't win many games with it.

Been playing a bit of OTK Paladin now that Sathrovarr has been released and I have to say I'm impressed. I thought it would feel like a win-more card but it really isn't: it adds a huge spike/recovery turn that would otherwise cost you half of your combo damage to pull off before you empty your deck. Not only that, the sheer value of the card gives you some amount of lategame reach beyond the combo itself.

The fact that you can summon 14/21 points of rushing, lifestealing damage and still have Shirvallahs left over for your bankers to copy makes this guy a must in OTK paladin and might make it the deck to beat, at least until the full set releases.

Edit: Sathrovarr might also make a pretty good card for quest druid as long as Kun, the Forgotten King remains in standard. Not only is it great tempo and value to clone your Kun, the extra armor allows you to get out of reach of OTK paladin's burn, which can be pretty tricky if you're relying only on Hidden Oasis and Ferocious Howl.

You are right. It's disgusting in OTK Paladin. The "extra" Shirvallahs are zero mana cost as well if you have spent enough on spells already. I really hope this deck doesn't take off between now and Dec 10 because it's awful to play against

No way this card is hit with a nerf until they see what the new post-Dragons meta demonstrates. $50 says there is some new awful card about to be unleashed which will be the #1 call for nerfs about 2 days into the next expansion.

It's been confirmed by Blizzard that yes, they do.

If you are playing an EVIL class, and you use a card has "invoke Galakarond", I am reading that the new hero power is triggered as well. That is, even if you don't have the new hero card equipped yet.

For example, if you are playing as a Warlock and you use Dragonblight Cultist, you will get the following result for 3 mana:

    • 2 1/1 imps are created on the board, as that is the Warlock upgraded hero power (achieved after using Galakrond later in the game)
    • the 1/1 minion actually becomes at least a 3/1 minion, as he gains 1 attack for every other minion on the board (including the two 1/1 imps)

There is a video on the Blizzard website for this expansion which shows how such a card works with the Rogue class.

Assuming I have this right (?), suddenly the "invoke Galakarond" cards seem much, much better.

Unbelievably powerful. Turn 7, draw FOUR CARDS, and each costs ZERO????

Game over on turn 7? Leeroy, eviscerate, eviscerate, cold blood... you can imagine the possible combos.

This seems good. Turn 1, play this. Turn 2, play a new minion , secret, or use your hero power to kill your opponent's minion. In fact, hero power + attack with this on turn 2 means you can take out a 3 health minion too.

This card is very powerful. Draw 3 is very, very good.

I don't think the plain vanilla Evolve Shaman deck is that oppressive. They can high-roll but their start is often slow. I have played that deck and lose to Rogues all the time.

Quest Shaman is different. It's so easy to finish the quest and then the power from double battercries is disgusting. MCTech is the biggest problem; that card must be sent to hell.  Desert Hare becoming 5 minions + evolve (following the quest completion) is also insane. 5 four drops for 6 mana?

Blizzard is in a bit of a bind this time though. They can't really nerf Evolve. It's a Wild card that's only back temporarily. (I'm not sure if it's really a problem in Wild?)

So what can they do? I suppose they could remove Evolve and replace it, temporarily, with something else from Wild. I doubt that's going to happen.

All things considered, I wouldn't put it past them to wait until early December and just let November be Shamanstone. I recall when DK Rexxar was everywhere and the most infuriating card to play against. Even after they nerfed the Lesser Emerald Spellstone, there was still a long stretch of time where Hunter was very oppressive. And then the April rotation came.  Similarly, I expect Blizzard to do nothing and let the December new expansion / return of the cards to Wild solve the problem by itself.

Excellent card. It's like adding another copy of bloodlust to your token decks. I've dropped her several times alongside an overload card and have caught my opponent off-guard.
